If you chose a care home based in England, you may be eligible for NHS Funded Nursing Care (FNC), which helps cover the cost of nursing. This is worth £254.06 per week and is usually paid directly to the care home.
Visitors are welcome at any time. All the home ask is that visitors sign in using the tablet just inside the main doors in Reception.
There is ample parking for visitors.

As you say, your Mum was only with us for a very short time, but she quickly became part of the family - involving herself with chores and activities and having a good old chat and laugh with residents, staff and visitors. I remember meeting you all for the first time nearly four years ago and how worried you were about what the future held for your parents. I am so pleased we were able to offer them a place to be together and the time you were able to have with your Mum at the end. I know it has been hard at times coming back in to Hawkhurst House to see your Dad but we are glad you continue to be part of our family.
I was kept up-to-date on mum's care and progress at all times, and management were always available for a quick chat if I had questions. The management is very hands-on, not tucked away in a distant office. The activities team do their utmost to engage residents, and there is always something interesting going on. Visiting was always a pleasure in a lovely environment, and the in-house coffee and cakes were a lovely treat when mum was no longer able to travel in a car with us.
Thank you for taking the time to write this lovely review and please accept my apologies for my late response. We all had a soft spot for your mother and admired her for doing all she could to hold on to her independence. She certainly kept us on our toes as we tried to come up with ways of keeping her safe but ensuring she could still do the things important to her.

Thank you for raising this concern and for agreeing to discuss this with me. As I explained on our phone call, we have investigated this and spoken to the chef. The chef confirmed that there was a loaf of bread in the cupboard which had gone mouldy. He said he took slices from a 2nd loaf which did not appear to be mouldy and gave them to you. When I informed him you had gone to get more bread and found both loaves were mouldy he accepted he should have checked the whole loaf and if mouldy thrown both away. He told me he returned the first loaf to the cupboard as he did not want to cause alarm. We pride ourselves on having achieved a 5 Star Food Hygiene rating from the Food Standards Agency for the last 5 years and can only apologise for any distress caused by this incident. Thank you for acknowledging your father is well looked after and you no other complaints about the home.
