Residents live in Care Suites which they are encouraged to personalise so they feel 'at home'. Residents also have access to the shared areas such as the communal lounges, kitchenettes, dining areas, café and garden.

Each floor has a dedicated nurse who leads a team of Care Companions. The Care Companions work in pairs and are allocated to support the day to day needs of a group of residents. This approach means the Care Companions and their residents form close relationships enabling the Care Companions to deliver truly personalised care and support.

The ethos of the home is to support residents to feel physically and emotionally safe as well as being able to choose how they spend their day. Hawkhurst House wants relatives and friends to feel welcome and can visit just as you would if you your loved ones were still living in their own homes.

My father went into Hawkhurst House for 'end of life' care. In the few months he was there he was treated with absolute kindness, dignity and compassion throughout. The staff were also incredibly supportive of the family and they kept us in touch with Dad's condition. Whilst Dad was well enough, he
was able to enjoy his meals - often with us - in the lounge or his room, participate in the entertainment and very important to him, to get a decent haircut. His room was light and spacious, overlooking the garden. The home is modern and immaculately clean. In Dad's final days, the nurses (who are absolutely phenomenal) kept him comfortable and pain-free but not 'drugged' so he was aware of us being with him and was even laughing at us the day before he passed away. Every member of staff is key to the success of HH - they were all, without exception, fantastic. Also, it is significant that staffing levels do not drop during the night or weekends as they do in other care homes.

My wife was dying of cancer and was admitted to the Hawkhurst Care home in May 2019. From the outset, the care and compassion showed to her was phenomenal. The management, nurses and Carers were at the very top of their profession. Her own GP was able to visit her and to maintain a dialogue with the
resident nurses about what treatment was best for her.
I would not hesitate to recommend the Hawkhurst House care home to anyone needing that special care and attention which makes the resident feel that this is their own home.
Likewise, when the end came, the help given to me as her husband was more than just sympathy, it was guidance as well.

I arrived desperate for help for my mother and within 48 hours all was sorted. The manager scooped us all up. Everything was made as easy and convenient for us as possible. During the 6 weeks my mother was resident, the wonderful care staff went out of their way to get to know her. At the end of her
life, they were so attentive and loving. The nursing staff put in the effort to co-ordinate GP/hospice/medical care. They held and supported my mother, my sister and I to the end.

Mum was looked after during the last few weeks of her life. Words cannot express how wonderfully she was looked after at Hawkhurst House.
The care of all the staff and the facilities was nothing less than amazing. My whole family have drawn so much comfort from knowing her last days were spent surrounded
by so much care and attention. Thank you.

After a stressful time searching for a suitable nursing home, we were very grateful to discover Hawkhurst House. This new build with spacious suites has the appearance of a good quality hotel. It's bright and airy, the décor and cleanliness extremely high.
Suffering from Parkinson’s, some dementia
and poor vision, Mum does not deal well with change but is settling in more easily than expected. This is due to the friendly and supportive staff doing their very best to make that difficult transition to residential living as easy as possible. Mum only arrived in the last month, initially for respite, but we had no hesitation in changing to permanent care.
Its location in Hawkhurst means a fair way to travel from Maidstone to visit, but the standard of care and knowledge that Mum is comfortable and well looked after makes that compromise worthwhile. As visitors, we have all been made very welcome and enjoyed some good meals with her. Her personal phone means we can talk at any time.

Admission to Hawkhurst House in April 2018, was for a short respite period for an elderly lady.
The professional management team met us for a home visit to discuss personal needs and preferences prior to admission, and gave us a full introduction to the services provided; this was very reassuring.
The
time at Hawkhurst House was without issue - the room was spacious, bright, clean and well - appointed to meet a residents needs. During our daily visits, we heard how lovely the food was (very important) and how kind the staff were.
At discharge, we were given a full hand-over by a member of staff, who took the time to go through medications, etc. which was very helpful.
We have no hesitation in considering returning for a second respite visit.

Mum stayed here for 17 days while we were on holiday and I cannot fault the care she received. The staff were friendly, kind, caring and nothing was too much trouble. Her room was beautiful and really felt like a home from home, it was super clean and as good as any 5-star hotel. She had her own phone
which made keeping in contact really easy.


I left strict instructions with regard to mum's care and they were followed to the letter. She had clearly been well looked after. So much so that given the choice, I think she would have stayed.


I would not hesitate to recommend Hawkhurst House.

My Mum has been resident for a few months now. She can be quite difficult and the care the staff have given her has been excellent. We are always welcomed when we visit. My grandchildren love the beautiful garden and often get offered drinks and biscuits. The care is excellent. The rooms are spacious
and incredibly well fitted. There are wonderful facilities for bathing with hoists. We cannot ask for a better place for her to be.

Both my parents are now in Hawkhurst House. The whole experience, especially for my mother, has been incredible.
Brand new nursing home, big, clean, welcoming, lovely rooms, lovely surroundings, lovely staff - just wish it wasn't quite so far from my house - trouble with a big family.
