Just had my semi-quarterly catch-up with the Manager (which I have in addition to chats to the staff on hand when I visit), and I continue to be impressed with the care and consideration with which they look after my mother. We were so glad to find Newland House (in the middle of a COVID lockdown), and have been able to breathe easy knowing she is in good hands, and receiving such good care that matches her increasing needs.

The home is clean and well-equipped and there is a cheerful and positive atmosphere.

Newland House was a perfect choice for my mother for her last 15 months. The staff were all extremely welcoming whenever we visited, offering refreshments and an update on how she was. Mum enjoyed taking part in the various activities offered. Each and every one of the staff were so caring and thoughtful. It was a huge relief to know she was so well looked after by Sue and her team. Thank you so much.

We were very pleased with the care the staff provided for Auntie Stella during a three-week period of respite over Christmas and New Year. She was clearly well looked after and the staff were very attentive to her being new to the home and aware of her needs at such a sensitive and critical time. Communications before, during and after the period of respite could not have been better. Staff were always available to answer questions in a friendly and helpful way. The standard of Auntie Stella's room, the quality of the food and choices available were all very good. The home always seemed very calm and relaxed and well organised, and the staff went out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and valued. The staff clearly love their work, love the home and want to do their very best for everyone. The home feels like a haven of safety and security for evryone who lives and works there. As the PoA of my aunt, I felt that I could not have entrusted her to a better care home. Outstanding.

The Georgian Town House, and its extension works well. The walled and railed garden is secure and safe. The building had a problem around the front door from above, with water ingress, post a cloud burst. It has been fixed after they were let down by "preferred contractors' timewise, local maintenance people may do things quicker and as well

My husband was at Newland House for more than two years and throughout that time he was treated with great consideration and care. While not the most luxurious of home, it has a very friendly atmosphere and the staff are wonderful. Newland House really does feel like a family home. I could not have wished for better care.

I visited on my mother's birthday and was greeted by staff as always. While my sister and I were there we had a visit from the new area manager (i think) to introduce herself and several staff popped in to makre sure we were ok and if wanted tea or coffee. I fed my mother as I like to do this as there isn't much interaction we can do in her confition, so feeding her makes us feel a little helpful and connected. I have personally recommended Newland house to many of my friends as its the kind of place (if I ever needed great care) I would like to end up in.

My husband was a resident in Newland care home for three years. I am so grateful to all the staff for the care and understanding that was given to him. I and my family were always treated kindly and my husband was happy and contented whilst he was there. Looking back I feel so glad that my first impression of Newland proved correct - a warm happy and caring home and we could not have found a better place. Thank you.

They looked after my mother extremely well and managed all her needs. As she was bed bound she needed to be turned regularly, and helped to eat her meals, and have drinks. The staff were very caring and thoughtful. There are many activities going on at Newland for the slightly more mobile. Food was excellent being prepared on site.

Very happy with the kind, conscientious care given to my mother. Each and everyone treated her with care and kindness - you generally all had time for her. I feel you all went above and beyond what I'd expect I'm very grateful!

My mother has lived at Newland for approximately two months. From arriving, she has been looked after in an exemplary fashion. Nothing has been too much trouble, the manager and all the staff are fantastic, so welcoming and caring. My brother and I spent Christmas Day there, everything was beautifully arranged for the residents and visitors. It was lovely to be with Mum. Nothing was too much trouble for the excellent staff on duty. They are all lovely, such a good team.

All of the staff go above and beyond to give the best possible care. The atmosphere is absolutely fantastic with entertainment provided even for Dad who is bedridden. There is always a friendly welcome and the staff are never too busy to stop and chat about any concerns. Dad is happy, safe and well cared for. Cannot thank everyone enough. So thank you!

The care that my dad gets is fantastic. All the carers understand Dad's needs. His communication is not good, but they all know what he wants/needs. It certainly means we can relax knowing he is taken care of so well.

My mum has been here for just over 2 years now and is progressively getting worse, but the staff here are so caring and supportive to her in every way. I can't fault them. They are all very friendly towards me too, making me feel very welcome. I am kept up to date on every single thing to do with my mum. They have lots of family/friends events throughout the year which are enjoyed by the residents enjoying themselves. It's so reassuring to know my mum is getting the proper care she needs.

After making a very difficult decision to place Mum into a care home, we felt relieved to know she was being left in Newland House, where all the staff are caring and considerate to the residents and their individual needs.

My wife whose medical problem prevents her from writing wanted to do a review herself, she has been a resident at Newland House since last January. She has a deteriorating dementia which prevents her from re-learning to walk or stand since she sustained a hip fracture last November. She also has an indwelling urinary catheter and is faecally incontinent. I can not speak too highly of the high quality, loving and patient care shown to her by all staff members in fulfilling her needs, both physically and mentally. There is a warm and friendly ambience at the home and as much freedom as possible is given to residents to live their lives as they wish, for their visitors, to see them without restriction and always receiving a warm welcome from the staff.

My family and I would like to thank all of the staff for their excellent care they provided in my father's later years. He passed away last week and the palliative care given to him was outstanding. I would recommend this lovely wonderful care home to families that potentially are looking for placements for a loved one to end their final years. I was a registered general nurse and witnessed the highest quality of care possible.

Lovely place the food is excellent. The attention they give all the residents is amazing my mum is very happy, safe and smiling. Not too big with a cosy family feel. I show everyone the food pictures and we all agree we would like to retire here. Thanks for all you do

It was very hard as a family to accept we couldn't care for our mum properly anymore and the guilt we felt for placing her in a care home was immense. Our minds were immediately put at ease as Mum settled in and was so happy from day one. The staff are just lovely, caring and fun. Always a smile. The food they receive is just amazing and creative and very tasty. They have regular activities and visits, and people coming in to sing to them. The residents love to dance with the help from the staff. It's so lovely, I'm tempted to move in myself.
