Our 94 year old Mum has been at Belford House since early June 2026.
She has settled well and enjoys most of the activities.
The staff are friendly and helpful and requests have been met. Mum definitely has her favourites among the staff.

It is lovely to know that she is safe and well cared for.

Review of Bethel House from Kate S (Sister of Resident) published on 26 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My brother has now been a resident at Bethel House for about a year and is so happy there. The wonderful staff work so hard to make him feel at home and to give him everything he needs. He is regularly taken out for walks and enjoys the many activities which are organised for the residents. The staff constantly interact with the residents to ensure they are happy and there is a lovely, relaxed and homely feel where everyone looks happy.

Review of Bethel House from P C (Wife of Resident) published on 25 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Bethel House staff are so caring and all go the extra mile to look after our loved ones. There is a family atmosphere for all the residents, good home cooked food and nursing services combine to give everyone a comfortable life. Only criticism is that they are still without an entertainment organiser which for my husband is important. Events are still being organised but not to the level of the previous year.

Reply from Abbey Doyle, Manager at Bethel House

Thank you for your lovely feedback and for recognising the care, kindness and family atmosphere at Bethel House. We're so pleased that you value the home cooked food, nursing support and the efforts of the team. We also appreciate your honest comments regarding activities and entertainment. Review of Beech Tree from V W (Daughter of Resident) published on 24 August 2026 Submitted via Website

Our Mum has only been at Beech Tree for a couple of months. The change in her mood and mobility has greatly improved. She had spent a good few months in hospital before moving in.
The staff are fabulous and know how much it means to Mum to reconnect with her old friends and familiar places .

She has thrived since she moved in and has settled in well.

We were very happy with the love and care shown to Mum. Appreciative of the short notice respite care, that moved into permanent care.
John and Amanda supportive and kind as were all staff we engaged with. Although Mums stay was short, she was well looked after and seemed happy every time we visited. Never anxious to return when we went out either, which is comforting.
I would have no hesitation in recommending HC to other families looking for dementia care for loved ones.
A real homely environment.

Thank you.

Review of Moorhill from Graham W (Friend of Resident) published on 20 August 2026 Submitted via Website

Moorhill has proved a truly exceptional care home to entrust the residential care for my/our close friend of many years. The facilities are amazing and so adaptable to individual and collective need. Staff are welcoming, professional and always prepared to go that extra mile to accommodate specific requirements or requests, as they feel able.
A huge thank you to Elliot and the team for recently facilitating traditional afternoon tea that I had arranged for three resident and 17 relatives and close friends, who we realised shared a common bond of comradeship in excess of 50 years. The event proved to be such a success and so memorable.

In summation, a care home like no other I have experienced. Thank you.

Review of Hartford Court from Jane C (Daughter of Resident) published on 5 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

I cannot praise Hartford Court and its staff highly enough. My elderly dementia-sufferer mother had become unsafe at home, so we needed to find a safe environment for her that we (myself and my brother) were happy for her to be in. Hartford Court not only took into account my mum's situation, but mine as well, as her primary carer for the previous 9 years. The kindness and reassurance shown to both of us by Amanda the manager and John, her assistant, made an incredibly difficult decision so much less awful. And much to my amazement, after less than 2 weeks, mum was a different person: sunnier, happier, more ready to actively engage in conversations and happily joining in any activities offered. The change in her was remarkable. She was always perfectly happy to return there too, after trips out with me, which was further confirmation of her being happy and comfortable being there. I would absolutely 100% recommend Hartford Court and all it's lovely staff to ANYONE.

Review of Bethel House from Julie L (Daughter of Resident) published on 5 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

This home is truly amazing. My mum moved in in June and is so happy there. All the staff are great. When I went to see the home before mum moved in I was so impressed that Abbey the manager held the meeting in an alcove off the lounge not behind closed doors and the residents felt they could come and chat to us. When I visit the staff are constantly interacting with the residents which gives it a really homely feel. Since mum has been in their care I have regular updates by email with photos on how mum is and she looks great. Mum does have advanced dementia but she is now receiving a fantastic quality of life which I didn't think was possible. I love seeing the social media page which shows what a wonderful place Bethel House is. I couldn't have found anywhere better than Bethel House and its wonderful staff. Thank you for caring for my Mum

Review of Tegfield House from L M (Daughter of Resident) published on 4 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My Dad moved into Tegfield in February of this year. My father has Parkinsons disease with very bad mobility and is now confined to a wheelchair. Initially we had issues with his care as staff had not received specific training in parkinsons care, however, we raised the issue with management and a plan was put in for staff to receive the appropriate training. The majority of staff are really lovely with some being particularly exceptional. The food initially was pretty awful but there has definitely been an improvement in this with a change of chef. Management have taken any concerns that we have raised seriously and have responded in a timely manner with plans of action put in place. The only thing I will say is that it would be good if more wheelchair users were able to be taken for days out as I believe the vehicle used is shared between homes and there is only room for one wheelchair user. We enjoy visiting Dad and we hope he continues to enjoy his time at Tegfield.

I was overwhelmed by the support the Manager gave me as I had to accept that I could no longer care safely for my wife with Alzheimers at home. They have been so patient, understanding, care-full treating her with dignity and respect at all times eventhough her illness has made it difficult sometimes. The whole environment, facilities, welcome, reassurance, couldn't be bettered with visitors welcome at any time which is an excellent sign. I am so glad she has a place there. Thank you to all the team there who do a magnificent job in sometimes trying circumstances. If further reassurance or comment from me is needed to affirm their truly well deserved 'outstanding' label please do not hesitate to ask.

June was particularly warm, but the staff all went above and beyond to ensure that the safety and comfort of the residents was not compromised. Safe hydration was promoted with increased checks on residents was incredibly reassuring because I knew that any heat related problems would be identified long before they became a problem. The activity team did an amazing job. Adjusting the timetable to take into account the heat, without reducing any of the enjoyment to residents. Thank you to the whole team at Beech Tree for the professional way that you managed this recent bout of extreme weather. I wish there was a grade of 'outstanding'

West Cliff - Outstanding!

Our family cannot speak highly enough of West Cliff. From the moment we first walked through the doors, the staff treated Mum with dignity, kindness, and real compassion. The team takes time to get to know each resident personally and always make sure the little things happen.

What stands out:

Staff: Always professional, attentive, and genuinely caring. They kept us updated without us having to chase.

Environment: West Cliff is spotless, bright, and feels like home. Mum loved being outside in the garden when the weather was nice.

Activities & Food: Great choice of activities and the food was excellent. Dietary needs are catered for without fuss.

Peace of mind: We knew Mum was safe, respected, and was truely happy there.

Management is approachable and truly listens.

Choosing a care home is hard, but West Cliff gave us complete peace of mind.

Highly recommended.

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all of the staff for the outstanding care they provide to my mum. From the very beginning, they have treated her with kindness, respect, and genuine compassion, making her feel safe, valued, and at home.
The staff are always friendly, caring, and professional. They go above and beyond to ensure every resident is comfortable and well looked after, and nothing is ever too much trouble. It is clear they genuinely care about the people they support, and that shines through in everything they do.
The home is always clean, welcoming, and has a lovely atmosphere.

As a family, knowing that my mum is receiving such excellent care gives us complete peace of mind. We are truly grateful for the dedication, patience, and kindness shown by every member of the team. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this care home to anyone looking for care for their family member. My mum has settled in and now calls the staff her friends which I find very touching.
