My sister in law resided at Bethel from June 2024 - October 2025. Her needs were unique. All staff at Bethel cared for her in an extremely appropriate and caring manner it was lovely to see her settle in and appreciated staff involvement as appropriate. Care was of the utmost quality, communication
was excellent. Involvement with family members was friendly, professional, welcoming and appropriate. Care for my sister in law and all family members will stay with us for a very long time. Thank you Bethel.

Alton Place

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Choosing Alton Place for Mum was a big leap of faith in a brand new space and the management. As we were the first resident in the door we weren't able to see what day to day life would look like. All the management staff were kind and took time connect genuinely with mum, and have been dedicated to
building a sense of community from the get go. Any worries on my behalf quickly dissipated. They proactively reviewed medication with the doctor, thinking about mums needs and wants. They quickly sorted the district nurse which I had been struggling to achieve in the community for a long time. All the carers have been so kind they have formed a great team all with different strengths. Choosing a care home is a difficult and very weighted decision and so I am very grateful for the people at Alton Place, and all the effort, kindness and connection shown to my mum every day.

Alton Place

I have to visit the new Alton Place nursing home several times each week to care for an old married couple who are in their late 80's and who are enjoying their stay so much that they can no longer remember the bungalow that they were living in and still own.

In fact, the home is so lovely and new
that you could mistake it for a 5-star hotel. The staff are all so friendly and helpful which makes the atmosphere so relaxed, and nothing is too much trouble for them.

The home has a beautiful cinema room and a luxury hair salon. The outlook from the rooms is across a lovely lawn to a forest of trees and since the rooms have French doors and windows to each side the rooms have a lovely view and are very light and very spacious. All in all, if you like luxury you will not be disappointed if you have to go into this nursing home.

Alton Place's greatest asset is its staff. Without exception they are compassionate, patient, hardworking, dependable and fun. They could not do more to cater for the residents' needs, always with good humour.

There is a varied programme of daily activities, many of which are open to family,

friends and sometimes the wider public. Outings in the adapted minibus are undertaken to local places of interest or maybe just to a suitable shop or cafe. Everything possible is done to keep the residents mentally and physically active and engaged, though quieter sessions are also planned for reminiscing, creative activities, etc.

The furnishings, decor and layout are bright, stylish and spacious. There are frequent film shows in the purpose built cinema, complete with popcorn and pamper sessions in the hair/nail salon.

The menu choices sometimes seems a little inappropriate for older residents, but this is a work in progress and can be adapted according to popularity.

Dad attends every Monday, plus goes along to some of the activities on other days. Everyone so friendly, and fun. I have no worries leaving dad there, I know he is safe and well cared for. Very wide range of activities to suit every taste. Community welcome to join in too. Dad enjoys his days there,
loves the food. Residents I talk to tell me say they are always being fed! It gives him a fun day out, mixing with others, with staff watching out for him and encouraging him to join in and experience new things and companionship. Family made just as welcome even though dad only attends 1 day a week. All one big family, lovely atmosphere.

Mum has transferred to Woodlands House from another care home, and whilst Woodlands House does not look like a 4 * hotel, its traditional charm, character and overall friendliness are much nicer and more homely. The food is excellent and most of the staff take time to chat to her in a really friendly

Mum was always very clear that she never wanted to go into a care home, and as a family we worried about how she might adjust if the time ever came. However, within just a few days of being at Harlow Hall, she completely surprised us - she settled in so well and quickly began to love it there. The environment
is warm, welcoming, and feels more like a home than we ever imagined.
The staff have been nothing short of amazing. They treat Mum with kindness, patience, and genuine compassion, making her feel valued and respected. Their gentle approach and constant attentiveness have given her a real sense of comfort and belonging.
For us as a family, knowing that Mum is safe, cared for, and happy brings such peace of mind. We no longer carry the worry of whether she is being looked after properly. We are so grateful to Harlow Hall for giving her this quality of life.

It was always going to be difficult to find somewhere nearby to look after my mum who has dementia. It's not something in our lifetime that we have to do very often therefore, is very important to get right. I was aware of Harlow Hall and just popped in for a chat. At the time my mum was in a home 150
miles away therefore the logistics were never going to be easy. I spoke to staff regarding my situation I immediately felt reassured that they would guide us through the procedure. This included getting her assessed to ensure they could provide the right care for her.
Having toured the residence I was impressed with the clean, modern and welcoming vibe within. The ambience was pleasant and the staff bright and cheerful. A lovely room as well as other facilities available and the decision was easy. The arrangements were completed with the minimum of fuss and within a short space of time mum was there and settled.
Plenty of activities, lovely staff and much more. Highly recommended. Thanks

When my husband first went in it was a massive change for him and with his Dementia

Bethel House

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Mum and dad came to live at Bethel House in 2021, when they could no longer cope at home due to ill health, dad in heart failure with severe hearing loss and mum with advanced Alzheimers.
By the time we lost dad in Feb 2024 and mum in June 2025 the care home had become a second home and the staff like
friends. Both my parents' needs were so different, but the care home did everything it could to help them spend their final years together as a couple, for which I am grateful.
The meals are good and the activities plentiful and whilst residents do have many complex needs, they are treated with dignity and care.
