We are so grateful to have found Harlow Hall. What began as a short respite stay has now become a permanent home, which reflects the high level of care and kindness shown by everyone there.

From the beginning, the staff made mum feel welcome, safe, and respected. They took the time to understand

her needs and routines, making the transition much smoother than expected. It's clear she is not just being looked after, but genuinely cared for.

The team are approachable, compassionate, and professional, and communication has been excellent. It gives great peace of mind knowing she is in such capable hands.

Harlow Hall is clean, comfortable, and has a warm, friendly atmosphere. There has been a noticeable improvement in mums wellbeing, would highly recommended to others.

Massive thank you to all the team at Harlow Hall

The over all experience of this home is good.
However, I feel that more staff are needed now that there are more wheelchair users which need more assistance. More sit-to-stands are therefore needed to accommodate these people. Only on the ground floor is not sufficient.
Laundry is a continuing problem.
The
management team should be more evident during working hours.
Reply from Jenni Laffoley, Head of Marketing at Alton PlaceThank you for your feedback. We're pleased to hear that your overall experience of the home has been good. We also appreciate you raising your concerns, as we are always looking for ways to improve the care and support we provide. Staffing levels, equipment needs, laundry processes, and management visibility are all important areas, and your comments will be shared with the team for review. My Mother has been a resident of Woodlands House for nine years now and she continues to be very happy and settled in this very comfortable environment. Staff are always very responsive to her needs and support her very kindly. There are many activities offered here and Mum particularly enjoys the weekly
quizzes, art and craft activities, keep fit, music and games. In the summer it's good to be able to go out into the gardens and enjoy the flowers, trees and birdsong which Mum particularly likes. She says they're a friendly lot here and she feels she's among friends. She seems very happy. The environment is very warm and comfortable and is kept very clean and fresh. Mums room is welcoming with some of her furniture and possessions bought from her own home. The meals are all freshly cooked and usually served in the dining room which is sociable and bright. There are always food choices to suit everyone. She is very well looked after and I am always informed if there are any issues.

I visited Hartford Court today for the first time and was really impressed. The home was welcoming and the administrator asked me who I was here to see and made sure I went to the right place. The home was immaculately clean and the staff were really helpful. My friend said she liked being at Hartford
Court as it was cheerful and she has made new friends. What she really likes is the fact that the staff treat her with dignity and respect. She has the options to join in activities as she wishes. This was a really nice visit and I look forward to returning. She also said that she enjoys the food - there is plenty of it and she always has a good choice. She told me that she had made the right choice when she chose Hartford Court.

Dad went in for respite care on New Year's Eve 2025 / 26 and will now stay permanently.
The house and his room are lovely, the staff are very friendly and caring. I enjoy visiting Dad there and it has now started to feel like a second home for myself!
Dad is well looked after, he has good days and
bad days and often wants to go home but the staff are very patient and understanding with his mood swings.
I couldn't think of a better place for Dad to be, the house is lovely and well kept, and the location in the forest is gorgeous.
Unfortunately I have dropped one star as sometimes he cant reach his buzzer or phone when he is alone in his room.
Reply from Jenni Laffoley, Head of Marketing at Woodlands HouseThank you for your kind review. We're so pleased to hear that your dad feels settled with us and that you enjoy visiting - it's lovely to know Woodlands House is starting to feel like a second home for you too.

I can't speak highly enough of Harlow Hall Care Home. My father is currently staying there, and the level of care, compassion, and professionalism from every member of staff has been truly outstanding.
From the very beginning, the team made both my father and our whole family feel welcomed, supported,

The environment is warm and clean, and there's always a positive, friendly atmosphere. Communication with families is excellent too, which gives us real peace of mind.
Knowing my father is in such caring hands has made a world of difference during what could otherwise be a very stressful time.
I'm incredibly grateful to everyone at Harlow Hall, they are simply brilliant.

It was my mums first time at a care home having suffered a stroke, Harlow Hall is a friendly and welcoming place, it is like a Boutique Hotel .

The staff are amazing and quickly ascertained mum's quirky ways

There are plenty of Activities and entertainment such as cinema beauty salon, crafts

a sky bar ,garden room & tribute bands .

Sadly, my mum can't join in with some of these activities as she is bedridden and blind, but she can hear what's going on, which she really enjoys listening to

A nice, well cared for home which my mother-in-law seems to feel at home in. The facilities are fine, and there are plenty of quality activities. Our dog is always made welcome. My only complaint is that only the staff can open any external doors, so we are left standing in the cold and rain until they
appear. On busy days this can be a good few minutes.

My husband was happy in Bethel. He hated the previous care home despite that being only 2 weeks respite while I was in hospital. Bethel is very homely. It is warm and all the staff, without exception, are kind, patient and caring with even the most difficult resident. He loved the activities particularly
anyone who was singing and would join in with gusto. The chefs provided lovely food everyday and on birthdays they made a cake with candles and everyone would sing to them. The staff also made visitors feel very welcome and there was always a cup of tea. I would be more than pleased to recommend Bethel and its very caring staff to anyone looking at care homes for a relative. Thank you

Moving a loved one to a care home is a very difficult time but from the very start the Manager and Head of Care were excellent in their support and Mum was made to feel so welcome. She has settled in really well and is content, safe, happy and very well cared for - all thanks to the amazing care she
receives - the staff are patient, kind and caring. Nothing is too much trouble and the home itself has multiple spacious communal areas giving residents plenty of space. Tegfield has a real family feeling and we are so grateful Mum is now living in a such a safe and happy environment.

It was my mums first time at a care home and she was very anxious, it was clear from entering Harlow hall that it was a friendly and welcoming place, more like a hotel was my first impression. My mum soon settled in and the staff were amazing friendly, and tentative to all her needs. Activities and
entertainment which include a cinema beauty salon, crafts a sky bar tribute bands and dances trips out to name a few, these are encouraged but never forced and was lovely that the staff are tuned in to everybody's individual needs, my mum had a great time at Harlow hall and they even made her birthday special with other residents and a cake.I can't recommend Harlow hall enough and my mum will be returning soon with confidence, thank you guys so much.

My sister moved in here a month ago at fairly short notice and it is therefore quite a sudden change of circumstances for her. She has been made very welcome and I am particularly struck by how well all the staff know who she is and also the records they keep of how she is doing. And how friendly they
all are!
Her room is perfect for her, lovely and clean with decent storage space for her personal possessions and the communal rooms are also good.
There also seems to be a very wide variety of activities for the residents to join in and I am pleased to hear she has been to many of them.
My only other comment is that checking in her could possibly have been handled better but that was probably down to the time we arrived which was late on a Friday afternoon.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
What an amazing care home, its like entering a five star hotel...When we arrived from hospital with Mum (after A four week hospital stay for a full shoulder shoulder replacement) we were greeted by a lovely young lady with a beautiful smile for us all and an extra smile for Mum. We immediately new that
Mum would be happy here and a week in we were not wrong. All the staff are highly trained and attend to Mums every needs. Its so refreshing to meet so many people that are still smiling and offering support to residents and visitors at the end of a long day. The Home is fully kitted out for all the support that anyone might need plus extras, there is an extensive menu for the residents that is prepared in-house by an amazing Chef...his cakes are the best we have ever eaten....yes Visitors can have a cuppa and cake too... Gurmeet the Home Manage and Lucy make the home complete these two Ladies are as dedicated as they come. When I leave Mum after a visit I know she is Safe and Happy.
