Woodlands have been wonderful. Mum is receiving great care and support, superior to what we have previously experienced. The admissions process was smooth and we were kept informed during each step. Staff are friendly and accommodating and the facilities and grounds are clean and well kept.

Our friend is in excellent care at Woodlands House. Her room is lovely, spacious and like the rest of the beautiful home. It is spotlessly clean. Staff are warm and friendly and very attentive. Our friend is very happy there. It would be nice if we could purchase a cuppa whilst visiting so we could enjoy that with our friend.

My Mother has been a resident of Woodlands House for nine years now and she continues to be very happy and settled in this very comfortable environment. Staff are always very responsive to her needs and support her very kindly. There are many activities offered here and Mum particularly enjoys the weekly quizzes, art and craft activities, keep fit, music and games. In the summer it's good to be able to go out into the gardens and enjoy the flowers, trees and birdsong which Mum particularly likes. She says they're a friendly lot here and she feels she's among friends. She seems very happy. The environment is very warm and comfortable and is kept very clean and fresh. Mums room is welcoming with some of her furniture and possessions bought from her own home. The meals are all freshly cooked and usually served in the dining room which is sociable and bright. There are always food choices to suit everyone. She is very well looked after and I am always informed if there are any issues.

Dad went in for respite care on New Year's Eve 2025 / 26 and will now stay permanently.
The house and his room are lovely, the staff are very friendly and caring. I enjoy visiting Dad there and it has now started to feel like a second home for myself!
Dad is well looked after, he has good days and bad days and often wants to go home but the staff are very patient and understanding with his mood swings.
I couldn't think of a better place for Dad to be, the house is lovely and well kept, and the location in the forest is gorgeous.

Unfortunately I have dropped one star as sometimes he cant reach his buzzer or phone when he is alone in his room.

Mum initially went into Woodlands House for 2 weeks respite, but settled so well that we decided she would be best served remaining there. This was the best decision we made in terms of her care. The staff were so attentive to her needs; always encouraged feeding (despite her reluctance); and provided exceptional care to her. Sadly her time at the home was limited, as she passed away after only a few weeks. Nevertheless we couldn't have been more impressed by what was provided to Mum, and the compassion that was shown to us following her passing.

I truly did not know care homes could be this good! Mum wasn't keen on going into care until we showed her her fabulous room at Woodlands and the smile on her face said it all. All the staff were amazing, they had time to help everyone or to just have a chat when passing. Great food choices for each meal and plenty of it! The activities & outings schedule was amazing with something for everyone. Mum particularly liked the regular quizzes that took place indoors or in the beautiful garden, as well as listening to the visiting singers and speakers.

Mum has transferred to Woodlands House from another care home, and whilst Woodlands House does not look like a 4 * hotel, its traditional charm, character and overall friendliness are much nicer and more homely. The food is excellent and most of the staff take time to chat to her in a really friendly down to earth way. It's still early days for us, but in comparison to where she was staying, we are much happier. This is the best place for her and cheaper!

Dad settled in well for his two week stay at Woodlands House. He had a gorgeous room overlooking the gardens with a large bathroom. All of the staff that I encountered were so lovely and truly caring, helping Dad become accustomed to care home life during his short stay. I particularly liked the fact that we, as a family, had online access to his care records. It certainly appeared that Dad enjoyed the food and often partook in the daily arranged activities. I've used two large care groups now; care Uk and Hartford group. I far prefer engagement with Hartford and will be using the group again in future for respite stays.

My mother has been a resident at Woodlands House for nearly a year now and is very happy and content. She is looked after with great care and kindness by all of the staff.

She has made friends with some of the other residents and is always smiling when I go to see her each week. She loves to join in with the many activities provided and is often dancing which always makes me smile. Woodland House is a warm and wonderful home.

My mother has been living at Woodlands since August 2022 and has been cared for with such respect and dignity. The staff are simply brilliant, friendly, kind and supportive in equal measure. Nothing was ever too much trouble even when mum was a bit grumpy! She passed away peacefully on Friday the 2nd of February with us by her side. Many staff popped their heads round the door to say goodbye to her which I found so comforting. They really cared! We were so supported by all the staff during this sad time. As Mum used to say to me 'They are all so kind to me here' speaks volumes.

Mum has now resided at Woodlands House for the past 2+ years. She went there in August 2021 for 2-week respite and never left. She is loving it there as she has made friends, the staff are very friendly and there are activities for the residents both morning and evening. Mum's mobility has deteriorated rapidly, but nothing is too much trouble for the staff and their patience is outstanding. She celebrates her 99th birthday in October and I know that she will be spoilt rotten! A big thank you to all the staff at Woodlands House.

I really appreciate the open access to come and visit my mother, and it is consistently evident that there is an active, social and homely environment in place, with the opportunity for my mother to be involved and helpful around the building, staff and fellow residents. The house and grounds are well maintained and peaceful, which also makes visiting and walking within the grounds a very pleasant experience. All this has vastly improved her mood and quality of life while coping with the inevitable decline that Dementia brings, and the wide range of activities and the exemplary support of the care staff gives me total confidence that she is as fulfilled as she possibly can be in these declining years after a lifetime of care and support for others.

Hi, my name is Katie and I have had the privilege of working in a variety of care settings for the past 16 years. For 11 of these wonderful years, I have been working for the fantastically supportive company - Hartford Care. Our amazing staff work tirelessly to ensure our residents get the very best care they deserve, ensuring everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

During my time working in the care sector, I have undergone a variety of courses to widen my knowledge, including my NVQ level 5 in leadership and management.

I aim to ensure all residents enjoy their time whilst living in our care homes, and that their relatives feel comfortable and welcome to visit their loved ones. I endeavour to help my staff to feel empowered and supported; to build on their experiences and to learn to think outside of the box.

I pride myself on leading by example and going the extra mile to ensure the residents' needs are always put first.

In my spare time, I like to support my local community and volunteer for the local food bank.

I look forward to getting to know you all and working with you to bring life and laughter to your loved one’s next chapter in their lives.
