Woodlands House is a truly elegant residential home set in its own extensive grounds and beautifully landscaped gardens, located in the rural village of Woodlands which nestles in the peace and tranquillity of the New Forest. The home has been sympathetically extended, retaining all of its original features to provide a safe, appealing and comfortable home for its residents.

The fully trained, compassionate and caring team has created an exceptional residential care home, who ensure residents are not only safe and well cared for, but are also happy and contented. With a full schedule of activities, entertainment and outings to cater to everyone’s taste, residents can live their lives as independently and positively as possible.

Woodlands House is steeped in period charm, yet filled with modern facilities and a warm and compassionate environment. The secluded grounds and easy access gardens provide great scope for numerous enjoyable activities or a space where residents can sit, relax and watch the world go by. Each of the 38 en-suite bedrooms is generously proportioned, newly decorated and fully furnished, complete with a flat-screen digital TV, telephone point and 24-hour call bell. The grand hallway, spacious lounge, relaxing library and bright dining room provide a variety of communal spaces to create the perfect family home.

Residents also benefit from inclusive homemade meals, inclusive laundry service and video calling to stay in touch with friends and family.

After over two years of my looking after my partner, the family decided that the time had come for her to have professional care. We were so pleased that we were recommended to visit Woodlands House Care Home. It is such a lovely, well-maintained building with exceptional grounds. When the pharmacy
lady learned of our choice she said we could not have chosen better.
Everyone at Woodlands House, from the CEO to the maintenance man and young tea lady, shows so much consideration to all residents. The staff "at the sharp end", as one, all demonstrate dedication, tenderness and understanding. Congratulations to them all and thank you.

My mum moved into Woodlands House Care Home in May 2021 after she developed Alzheimer's disease and was no longer able to live in her own home. When Mum first moved in, she was in the main part of the home and absolutely loved the activities and company of other residents. It had been a difficult decision
to move her into a home, but the staff at Woodlands House were excellent and made the transition very smooth.
Sadly Mum deteriorated a few months later and moved into the higher dependency part of the home, where she stayed until her death in November 2022. The care, support and love she received were exceptional, and I knew that she was in the best place for her needs. As her condition deteriorated, this became even more important for my own peace of mind.
The staff at Woodlands genuinely care for the residents and go above and beyond what would be expected at a care home. The setting is beautiful, and I would unreservedly recommend them.

What a fantastic home, my dad does daddy daycare there and stays occasionally. He loves it. Day trips, spelling tests and singalongs. He has a great time and interacts with everyone. Keep up the good work.

I worked as part of the Woodlands team for 8 years and left 4 years ago. Myself and my family decided a few months ago that my own nan would benefit for 'day care' it was quite a difficult decision to make however and I cannot thank and praise the staff enough. Having worked there myself in the past
I trust the team so very much old and new. My nan always comes home beaming with excitement when we collect her. The staff are outstanding and really are a credit to the Hartford team. I cannot put into words how happy we are with this decision we have made. Thank you again.

This is a lovely home set on fantastic grounds. There is ample seating for residents to take part in activities outside when the weather permits. The staff are caring and go the extra mile to ensure the residents are happy and kept active, with much laughter and good humour. After attending the family
day, I felt privileged that my mother is part of the Woodlands House community. It is good to know she is safe and well cared for. I know she has her moments, but it was so good to see her smile and take part in the celebrations. Thank you to all the staff, especially the management team and those working behind the scenes.

I could not praise the staff enough at Woodlands, my father took respite care there for 10 days and I can honestly say he enjoyed every day.
The staff are very caring and professional and the residents all seem very happy and very well cared for and looked after.
The home itself is on beautiful grounds
and we were able to enjoy the gardens and the quiet room and the lounge. Visiting was never a problem for me and my family and we could go any time, they were honestly so accommodating.
Going forward we now have my father booked in two days a week for respite daycare. I would just like to thank everyone involved in this fantastic facility.

While living in New Zealand - the staff at Woodlands help us keep in touch by setting up weekly Skype calls. After a gap of 3 years, have just managed a trip back to the UK to visit Mum and other relatives. Always a joy visiting Woodlands, lovely welcome and so comforting to see Mum looked after so

I have known most of the staff here for many years and can give nothing but praise for 90% of that time for the last 4 years. On the whole they are super crown, and not complaints anoupt the care provided. Pleasant kind and helpful 90% of the time. Nothing but praise, just a lovely crowd okay.

My mother has now been in Woodlands House for nine months. The care and love she receives from all members of staff are exemplary. They go that extra mile to provide a good atmosphere and there is always laughter and good humour. Every day there is a variety of activities to keep the residents occupied.
Also, there is a mini bus which takes them on journeys out. They are also very thorough in protecting residents against Covid. I am sure I couldn't have found a better care home for my mum.

Staff are true carers showing genuine affection for my mother-in-law. There is a great atmosphere in the house with plenty of laughter, brilliant activities which they have managed to maintain through the pandemic. Outdoor space is important to my mother-in-law and she makes good use of the beautifully
kept grounds. Food is a bit up and down but overall, delighted with the care provided.

My partner was looked after and very well cared for. This home has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The staff being a very strong team makes it an efficient and happy environment for all. The activity team work hard to ensure that all the residents have a great variety of entertainment and stimulation,
including outings and lots of time spent in the garden during the summer months. There is no better care home than Woodlands.

My mum sadly passed away last month after 3 and a half years at Woodlands House. She began her stay at the home in August 2018 and I was immediately impressed with the caring attitude of all the staff and how content and happy the atmosphere was for both residents and carers alike. The buildings and
grounds are well maintained and Mum often commented how lovely the gardens were. Mum spent her last few months in the Cottage where the care she received was especially excellent. The Cottage staff showed great dedication and commitment and demonstrated the immense value of sensitive care for those close to the end of life.
The care Mum received at Woodlands House was of consistently high quality throughout and she enjoyed a very pleasant and stress-free last few years.
I am very grateful for the care and comfort provided to her by the staff of Woodlands House right up to her passing.

The staff at Woodlands are all very competent and kind. The home is beautifully decorated and maintained. There is always a lovely atmosphere and as a visitor, I always feel welcomed. I am very happy my mum has been able to live at Woodlands House.

Hi, my name is Katie and I have had the privilege of working in a variety of care settings for the past 16 years. For 11 of these wonderful years, I have been working for the fantastically supportive company - Hartford Care. Our amazing staff work tirelessly to ensure our residents get the very best care they deserve, ensuring everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

During my time working in the care sector, I have undergone a variety of courses to widen my knowledge, including my NVQ level 5 in leadership and management.

I aim to ensure all residents enjoy their time whilst living in our care homes, and that their relatives feel comfortable and welcome to visit their loved ones. I endeavour to help my staff to feel empowered and supported; to build on their experiences and to learn to think outside of the box.


I pride myself on leading by example and going the extra mile to ensure the residents' needs are always put first.


In my spare time, I like to support my local community and volunteer for the local food bank.


I look forward to getting to know you all and working with you to bring life and laughter to your loved one’s next chapter in their lives.
