Woodlands House is a truly elegant residential home set in its own extensive grounds and beautifully landscaped gardens, located in the rural village of Woodlands which nestles in the peace and tranquillity of the New Forest. The home has been sympathetically extended, retaining all of its original features to provide a safe, appealing and comfortable home for its residents.

The fully trained, compassionate and caring team has created an exceptional residential care home, who ensure residents are not only safe and well cared for, but are also happy and contented. With a full schedule of activities, entertainment and outings to cater to everyone’s taste, residents can live their lives as independently and positively as possible.

Woodlands House is steeped in period charm, yet filled with modern facilities and a warm and compassionate environment. The secluded grounds and easy access gardens provide great scope for numerous enjoyable activities or a space where residents can sit, relax and watch the world go by. Each of the 38 en-suite bedrooms is generously proportioned, newly decorated and fully furnished, complete with a flat-screen digital TV, telephone point and 24-hour call bell. The grand hallway, spacious lounge, relaxing library and bright dining room provide a variety of communal spaces to create the perfect family home.

Residents also benefit from inclusive homemade meals, inclusive laundry service and video calling to stay in touch with friends and family.

Woodlands House holds Beacon status, the highest award in the 'National Gold Standard Framework' for End of Life care.

My mother lived at Woodlands for nearly 7 yeas. Finding the right care home for a loved one is probably the hardest thing you ever do in life. As soon as I saw Woodlands and met the staff I knew that it was the right place. It is a care home with a big C. The management and care team looked after my
Mum in a way that I could never have done. They are respectful, considerate, thoughtful and most of all good fun! Towards the end of my mother's life they stepped up the care, allowed me to sleep in the room with my Mum and helped us both through a very difficult time. I could not recommend Woodlands enough.

After looking at a few homes once we had found this one by accident I might add, nothing else came close. My concern was that mum wouldn't be appropriate as she has alzheimers and sometimes refuses to get out of bed plus a number of other medical problems. To my relief they agreed she could come to
Woodlands House. They are amazing, the atmosphere is homely, friendly all that you want for your loved one. When you have to find something or somewhere for a dear relative you are extremely emotional, worried and terrified you are doing the right thing. The people at Woodlands House are so understanding, kind, supportive and listen to your worries in a sensitive and kindly manner. I could go on but I have run out of space.

Woodlands is lovely and welcoming, the staff are amazing and so helpful if I'm feeling sad or low. Staff are here to listen and put a smile back on my face. I feel I have a new lease of life being at Woodlands House.

I do really like my beautiful room. Can't wait for summer as I really like walks in the garden. Staff are so helpful and smiling every day. I can't wait for Elvis (music show) on Wednesday.

My Aunt spent the last three years at Woodlands following a year on her own at home after her husband died. She spent three weeks there on a trial basis and never looked back. She started to put on weight after not being very interested in food at home, she had the stimulus of meeting other ladies when
she wanted to and the afternoon glass of sherry was something to look forward to !! Her room on the ground floor looked out over the front garden and car park which meant she had lots of activity to watch from her armchair by the window if she was inclined. She loved the enormous mirror in the corridor to check if she looked neat and tidy with no loose hairs on her cardigan, before sitting in the light and airy lounge to watch TV or to be entertained. She arrived just before Christmas so the big house looked lovely with all the decorations and large Christmas tree lit up.
I will always treasure the walks we enjoyed around the beautifully kept gardens even if they were just short ones.
When she became poorly a few months after celebrating her 94th Birthday, the staff and my family discussed whether to move her to Hospital or the Cottage. The Cottage was decided upon and she could not have had more sensitive care and consideration 24/7 for what turned out to be the last few weeks of her life. My sister and I were with her for those precious last few hours and the staff were so kind and thoughtful throughout.
I think Woodlands House is a lovely home to go to when someone cannot look after themselves anymore and that they should not be worried about this change in their lifestyle.

Job Title: Registered Manager Joined: 2013

Hi, my name is Katie and I have had the privilege of working in a variety of care settings for the past 16 years. For 11 of these wonderful years, I have been working for the fantastically supportive company - Hartford Care. Our amazing staff work tirelessly to ensure our residents get the very best care they deserve, ensuring everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

During my time working in the care sector, I have undergone a variety of courses to widen my knowledge, including my NVQ level 5 in leadership and management.

I aim to ensure all residents enjoy their time whilst living in our care homes, and that their relatives feel comfortable and welcome to visit their loved ones. I endeavour to help my staff to feel empowered and supported; to build on their experiences and to learn to think outside of the box.


I pride myself on leading by example and going the extra mile to ensure the residents' needs are always put first.


In my spare time, I like to support my local community and volunteer for the local food bank.


I look forward to getting to know you all and working with you to bring life and laughter to your loved one’s next chapter in their lives.
