My mum lived at Woodlands for two and a half years. I chose Woodlands above other homes due to their knowledge of relevant legislation, caring and empowering approach and the high-quality environment. They have achieved excellence in my professional view and I will remain an advocate of Woodlands for many years to come. Thanks so much for caring for mum so well.

The staff and facilities at Woodlands House are excellent. Families and friends of residents are made to feel very welcome and are invited to events and celebrations throughout the year. There is a variety of activities offered and trips out in the minibus. One of the highlights is the drama group who perform plays written by a member of staff who is mindful of abilities and knows the residents well.

Reply from Leah-Marie Mills, HR Director at Woodlands House

Thank you so much for your review - we are really pleased you feel so welcome and enjoy all of the many events and celebrations held at Woodlands. We will pass your comments onto our team too, who I know will be delighted to hear your feedback. We are also very much looking forward to the next show held by the drama group.

My mum has been at Woodlands House for 9 months now and I can honestly not fault the staff for their care, help and understanding to my mum. It’s always a difficult time making the right decision for your loved ones but from day one, the staff have made my mum feel welcome and at home. Also, the other residents are a credit to Woodlands as they are happy and friendly. The activity staff are also fantastic, so many great ideas and they always go that extra mile with entertainment, no matter what time of the year it is. The grounds and the surrounding area are beautiful too - perfect for an afternoon stroll. Overall 10/10 - Excellent!

Thank you for your wonderful review, Liz. We do consider everybody to be part of the Hartford family and we are so glad you are happy with the way she is being cared for at Woodlands. We shall pass on your lovely comments to the team and also our residents there.

My mother-in-law has a lovely room in a home that is beautifully decorated and kept very clean. The staff are wonderfully caring and there are plenty of activities to participate in should she choose to do so. The large gardens are beautifully kept. The staff are always helpful and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. We have regular relatives meetings and can discuss any issue. We have got to know other residents and their families creating a great family atmosphere. We are very pleased with our choice of care home for Mum.

Woodlands has a lovely, homely feel as soon as you walk through the door. Staff are friendly and welcoming, happy to help in any way they can. My mother-in-law is very happy and feels safe and well looked after. She enjoys the activities (knitting, sewing, bingo etc). Truthfully I can't fault them in any way - all staff are what makes the home, clean, war and friendly!

I couldn't wish for my mother to be anywhere but Woodlands House. It has given her a new lease of life. The staff are friendly and caring and take a genuine interest in her. She never fails to tell me how happy she is here. Thye range of activities on offer is amazing, and although my mother felt activities weren't for her, she joined in with various things and enjoyed herself. She loves the sing-a-longs with the entertainers. The food here is great too, according to Mum.

What an amazing place, and as a family, we remain so pleased that Mother has somewhere friendly, safe and secure to live and the staff here are all so committed to help and care.
There is always a cheery smile and a helpful hand to assist with the resident's needs - some of which may be somewhat challenging. The activities and variety of things are exceptional, even with time made to organise a Christmas Pantomime with residents/staff taking part. Brilliant.

As a family, we are kept up to date of what we need to know and we hope Mother has many more years to enjoy here.

Mum chose Woodlands three years ago when first diagnosed with dementia and we visited places for "the future". She said she felt at home, and boy, that has transpired to be so true. All the staff are kind - Mum says they are thoughtful and I don't have to worry about her at all. The banter is great with the residents, the food excellent and it really is a 'home from home'.

Woodlands House is always welcoming and mum loves to call it home. Staff are cheerful, kind and caring and tend to the needs of residents with the greatest of respect. There are plenty of activities to keep residents entertained on a daily basis, with ongoing projects and 'shows' for family and friends to share. I'm hoping and looking forward to many happy years of residence for Mum. I have already recommended Woodlands House to friends and colleagues.

Always found the staff very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. When I was staying here after my operation, I was very well cared for during that particular week and my room very spacious and well laid out, overlooking the beautiful garden. Meals were plentiful and good, and a great atmosphere all around.

Mum was at Woodlands for almost three years and it became my second home. Woodlands has a lovely family atmosphere and it is really one big happy family living under one roof. Mum had a beautiful bedroom, however, she liked to spend the daytime in the lounge or hall having fun and social time with fellow residents and staff. The staff are wonderful, caring and compassionate and they treat the residents with great dignity. I knew Mum was very well looked after. I was so fortunate that my Mum forged new friendships and had fun and had a very happy time in her final years. All thanks to Woodlands you are amazing thank you so much.

Hi, my name is Katie and I have had the privilege of working in a variety of care settings for the past 16 years. For 11 of these wonderful years, I have been working for the fantastically supportive company - Hartford Care. Our amazing staff work tirelessly to ensure our residents get the very best care they deserve, ensuring everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

During my time working in the care sector, I have undergone a variety of courses to widen my knowledge, including my NVQ level 5 in leadership and management.

I aim to ensure all residents enjoy their time whilst living in our care homes, and that their relatives feel comfortable and welcome to visit their loved ones. I endeavour to help my staff to feel empowered and supported; to build on their experiences and to learn to think outside of the box.

I pride myself on leading by example and going the extra mile to ensure the residents' needs are always put first.

In my spare time, I like to support my local community and volunteer for the local food bank.

I look forward to getting to know you all and working with you to bring life and laughter to your loved one’s next chapter in their lives.

I am excited to work with the manager, Katie, and the rest of the team to ensure that all the residents at Woodlands House feel safe, valued, and well cared for. I am already witnessing the fantastic care provided by the team and look forward to supporting Katie in ensuring that the residents and their families continue to receive the highest standard of care throughout their stay with us.
