Hazeldene House

I have been here 4 weeks all staff very nice we have regular activites ,ie football and singing,the staff work hard to make sure we are comfortable, nothing is too much trouble, although a care home it more like family, also we are encouraged to let our friendship grow anybody who follows the facebook page will know me as the lady in the video.

Mum's room was ensuite and quite large, with a choice of chairs.

The food was extremely good. The only negative was that Mum was given cheese (twice that I saw), even though I had advised staff that this may cause a migraine.

Mum went home by ambulance, without her Zimmer frame, her prescribed nutritional supplements, and a new pair of trousers I had bought her. To their credit, Hazeldene returned the frame and supplements promptly, the next day. (We had been asked to take Mum's frame in, as it would fit her height better. However, she was never using her own frame when we visited.)

Although Hazeldene had been informed of when Mum would be collected to return home, the carers were not aware, so she was not ready. They had to pack her things quickly, which may explain the missing frame, supplements and trousers (which never turned up).

Despite a few negatives, overall I rate the care at Hazeldene very highly. The staff were amazing!

This care home is run extremely well and communication is excellent.

If I could give Hazeldene more stars I would. The care my nan received was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately she was not there long, but the staff treated her with dignity and respect and were so caring. We knew she was in safe hands. Even when she passed away the staff and nurses were absolutely lovely and I can't thank them enough for the care they gave her throughout. Thank you.

Mum passed away peacefully at Hazeldene in January.

My father came to stay at the end of November and the staff have been superb. Very caring to the residents and welcoming to us as family of the resident. Unfortunately my father has recently passed away and the support for us, care and dignity for my father from every member of the team was exceptional.

Literally cannot fault the care or the staff here! They go above and beyond and the improvement my nan has made now is so much better than when she was at home, the staff are lovely and the way she's eating now is amazing! The food, the staff, all fabulous.

I've only been to Hazledene House four times to visit a relative that sadly passed away this week, what i found in my few visits is a place where the staff are totally professional and very caring indeed, they will chat with you if you have an inquiry, and put your mind at rest when needed, no words can thank these wonderful people for the love and care they gave to my Brother, From the bottom of my Heart, Thank you so so much, you are all Angels.Xx

The care at Hazeldene House is exemplary in every way. My husband was treated with care, compassion and dignity throughout his final days. The staff checked on him regularly and ensured that he was free from pain. They also found time to look after me. I can't thank them enough.

The staff who provide the care know my mother and have a positive relationship with her. We are always made to feel welcome. We are regularly and promptly advised of any concerns. The staff are keen to take my mother into the grounds regularly, very beneficial to her mental health.

Hazeldene House care home looked after my Dad for a few weeks after he came out of hospital until he passed away. The staff are so caring and go above and beyond to look after all residents. I cannot recommend them enough- we are truly grateful for all they have done for our family xx

Sadly my dad was only a resident at Hazeldene for a month as his dementia was very advanced when he was admitted. I don't live nearby but visited him every day for the last week of his life. I had no previous experience of care homes and a pre conceived idea that they would not be very 'caring'. Well - I couldn't have been more wrong. The care, love and compassion that is shown to every resident and visiting family members by each and every member of staff at Hazeldene is truly exemplary. We couldn't have wished for a better place for our dad to be cared for. The setting is beautiful and very peaceful and calming. The job that the carers have to do is, in my opinion, one of the hardest jobs you could imagine - we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all the staff - you are all amazing people xxx

Hazeldene House is amazing my dad was extremely poorly when he arrived not eating or drinking anything- now he has gained weight and is receiving first class care and nothing is too much trouble I cannot thank them enough, also the support I get as a relative is outstanding.

My sister and I found it difficult leaving mum to begin with, but now we see her happy and content, she is treated so kindly and with dignity that we have no worries about the standard of care she receives.

Mum went into Hazeldene House for 6 weeks respite care after having a fall at home and breaking her shoulder. Mum was unable to get the 24 hour care she needed where she lived and we were told that we would have to find somewhere for her within 24 hours. Hazeldene House came up trumps and mum moved there the following day. The staff were amazing and they made mum and my sister and I very welcome. They have been very supportive in all of mum's care and mum now is getting over her broken shoulder. We have made the decision to keep mum there permanently now as we know she is safe and well cared for. Hazeldene House is like a family.

I was very apprehensive when my husband had to go into care, I needn't have worried. He settled very quickly and the staff have gone above and beyond. He is so well looked after and the staff genuinely care about the welfare of all the residents. Any medical problems have been quickly addressed. My family have said what wonderful care he gets. Thank you.

My dad has thrived since being in the care of Hazeldene House. We enjoyed a fantastic family meal with my dad on Christmas Day where the staff made it a wonderful experience. I cannot fault the care he receives.

The Manager and Administrator are always available. Going into care is traumatic for both user and family and I thank Hazeldene House for making it as good a transition as is possible.
