The team made the transition from hospital to home run as smoothly as possible and welcomed us in like family. Always on hand to assist or answer any questions. The location is perfect; quiet with lovely views of trees and wildlife. Very happy so far!

Hazeldene is a wonderful, welcoming Home. All staff are friendly and hard-working, they really do care. The rooms are large, bright and clean, food is very good, plenty of activities for residents, lovely setting with extensive gardens, and registered nurses on site. Couldn't be happier with the standard of care and professionalism here. Overall the Home has a calm and welcoming feel.

My parents have settled very well in the home.
The staff are very friendly, and I feel very happy that they are being looked after and are happy there.

The food looks very nutritious, and they are looking after my father, who has a gluten intolerance.

My Dad is comfortable and always seems to feel reassured by the staff at Hazeldene. They are very cheerful and kind to the residents but it's easy to see they are also extremely skilled and efficient in their work, nothing seems too much for them, though I'm sure it is frequently very stressful. I always feel welcomed by everyone when I'm visiting.

I am very glad to be able to access my Dad's daily care online: I know he's being well looked after but it's helpful to know the extent of his care needs from day to day in clear and frank reports.

Mum has taken a while to settle into Hazeldene House, but that is not a reflection of the care she has received from all the staff on her floor. The staff are very friendly, and attentive and treat her with dignity, patience and understanding. Mum's room is always clean and tidy. The food is plentiful and seems well-balanced.

Family members are always made to feel welcome and we are kept up to date with her medical needs/conditions. On a less positive note, as Mum suffers from memory loss, it would be helpful for her if all the staff/carers wore name badges.

We are so glad to hear our staff have impressed you and that our teams cleaning and food service have met your expectations. Thank you for the feedback, this has been passed on to the home manager to ensure all staff are wearing their name badges as required.

All good.
My dad is well looked after, and the online care website is great. So much detail - I know everything he has done in a day, down to medication and how much he has had to drink.
Hazeldene is a very clean and a very friendly home. If there is a bit too much going on in the lounge, then my dad retires to his room to read or relax. Staff come by to check on him or to offer a cup of tea.

Very pleased with our choice of home.

Lovely staff, very pleasant and helpful keeping us informed on Mum's care, with excellent administration and care manager interaction.
Mum is very well looked after with genuine care, respect and dignity and has a lovely room that is well maintained.
The food she is given looks and sounds lovely and has tea and biscuits when requested, just like home.

Seems to be plenty of activities to keep the residents occupied.

Staff were all nice and very accommodating.
Kept up to date with Dad's progress.
The electronic online care app was good. I can see what he is eating and drinking and the medication he is on.
Good for when he was poorly. Peace of mind.

Lovely home. Very clean.

My friend can be very difficult at times and the staff deal with him very well. He is very depressed at times but these seem to have become less frequent as the weeks go by. This I think is because he has started to interact more with the staff and other residents.

Review from L S (Partner of Resident) published on 31 January 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

The thing that sets Hazeldene House apart from its peers is the genuine respect and care the staff show to all the residents and also to their families. From the first day my partner arrived, he has been treated with kindness and understanding continuously. Because the staff have plenty of experience in dealing with the complex needs associated with dementia, I can trust them completely and know he is safe all day long. And because the residents are monitored and assessed continuously, all his other health needs are also met. I am very, very grateful to the whole team.

Overall Experience
My mum recently passed away at Hazeldene after only a short stay there. Her health deteriorated quickly due to her terminal illness but the care she received there was outstanding.
Hazeldene is set in lovely surroundings with fantastic facilities but what made it stand out for me was the outstanding & compassionate care from the staff. From the time I made my initial enquiry right up until the time I cleared Mum’s room, I could not fault a single member of staff and I am a fussy person with high standards! They went out of their way to welcome Mum and make her feel at home and nothing was ever too much trouble. They cared for her medical needs far more efficiently and compassionately than any treatment or help we had received elsewhere.

As a family, we are so grateful that Mum’s final days were spent at Hazeldene and cannot thank the staff enough. If you need to find residential care do consider Hazeldene. If my experience is anything to go by you won’t be disappointed.

Mum spent less than a year at Hazeldene House but during that time, despite her dementia, her health improved as she had regular - and rather nice - meals, made full use of her en-suite bathroom with assistance as and when needed, and enjoyed the musical entertainment which became a regular feature of her life.
The staff all deserve five stars because they were fantastic giving her as much time and assistance as she needed. When I couldn't visit I kept up to date with the computer system and by phoning and speaking with her.

My worries about putting Mum in a home were totally unfounded and her life at Hazeldene House was far superior to that which she had become accustomed while living on her own at home. Alas, old age caught up with her, but I will always remember the good times she had at Hazeldene House.

Mum spent the last five years of her life in Hazledene. She loved her time there, and the care she received was outstanding. Everyone was so kind to her and always had time to chat and listen to her or make her a cup of tea. We cannot thank you enough for making her time with you comfortable and for your kindness when she passed.

I cannot express enough, my gratitude, for the amazing care my Dad received, by all at Hazledene House.
From the day my Dad arrived, the staff were so friendly and welcoming, not just to my Dad, but to all of our family.
They looked out for my Mum too on her daily visits to the home and were so kind and caring.

The food at Hazledene was also fantastic and our thanks also go to the chef, who was happy to accommodate requests and needs of the residents.

Our mother moved into Hazeldene House in 2020, just as Covid was taking hold. The friendly staff soon made her feel right at home. My brother and I were always highly impressed with the caring and respectful treatment the residents received. When we couldn't visit due to Covid, the home's efficient organisation made it easy for us to stay in touch with our mother via telephone and video call. We were provided with regular updates, given family access to a Mobile Care Monitoring System, and encouraged to provide additional photos and information about Mum's past and interests via the app. Mum's room was light and had a view of the garden. During our visits, nothing ever seemed to be too much trouble, and it was clear that our mother was being looked after very well. When Mum was reaching the end of her life, the staff were brilliant, allowing my brother and me to practically "move-in" for a couple of days. I cannot thank or recommend Hazeldene House and its dedicated staff enough.
