I have been to visit Dad at Hafod House on many different times of the day. The staff have all always been so lovely, cheerful and in my opinion do not get enough credit & praise for the phenomenal service, care and respect that they show to my dad & other residents.
"The food is excellent." Dad tells
me, and coming from him as an ex chef is a high compliment.
The rooms are perfect and very well maintained.
Dad being in Hafod House has given me peace of mind.

Thanks so much for your lovely review! It's great to hear that your dad is happy and well looked after - and we really appreciate your kind words about the staff. We'll definitely pass on the compliment to the kitchen team too - high praise from an ex-chef means a lot! Knowing that Hafod House gives you peace of mind means everything to us.

Lovely friendly home, food is good, staff are brilliant, would recommend highly.
I have worked in numerous homes over the years, and this is the only one I would be happy to have my relative live in.

Hafod House is like home from home, the staff can’t do enough for you. Always on hand and make us feel so welcome no matter what time of day or evening that you call. The manager and all the staff are so helpful. Hafod House is really clean and the food is amazing. They look after Mum so well. They
know what she likes and what she doesn’t.

The staff are wonderful. Everyone is treated like family. i.e residents and visitors alike. The care home is in a pleasant setting, the gardens are well kept. seating arrangements outside are available to those who wish to use them. Food is nicely cooked and presented, well balanced. There are varied
activities for the residents who wish to take part. What is lacking is a comfortable sitting room where guests interfere with these activities.

My mother has been part of the Hafod House community since 2019 and in this time, the care, attention, love and empathy has surpassed all expectations. To add to the home’s excellence, a refurbishment programme now affords an even more crisp and beautifully presented living environment. The living and
communal areas, corridors and grounds are presented to such a high standard. As has ever been the case (and even more so now), the staff are amazing and I salute every single one of them for their dedication and genuine commitment to bettering the lives of those in their care. I have always left after my visits, full of optimism and a feeling that Hafod House is the best choice that we made and streets ahead of others that I have visited.

I have been supporting a wonderful lady in the community for over a year now. She is currently in respite at Hafod House, until a program of home care can be implemented.
I have nothing but praise and admiration for the level and standard of care the manageress and her fantastic team provide to all
the residents.
All the staff go above and beyond and work so hard. The residents are treated with respect, kindness, dignity and above all love.
The service provided is more than 5 star. From the fantastic food, the rooms themselves (which all have a personal touch), the medical care, the cleanliness, humour and dedication of the staff and the activity program that’s provided, it really is phenomenal.
I have nothing but total admiration and thanks to all the super, empathetic staff that genuinely care for the lovely residents.
It’s a pleasure to go to Hafod House.

My auntie has been staying at Hafod House for nearly a month now.
The care is outstanding and nothing is too much trouble for the staff.
The menu is varied and caters for individuals and food is available as and when required.
It is also nice to know that their health is closely monitored and any
concerns, medical attention is called immediately.
There is an activity lady who keeps the residents occupied and weekly bingo!
All the residents look well cared for.

Much appreciated.

My mother stayed at Hafod House for nine weeks respite care. The staff were friendly and attentive and my mum was made to feel welcome.
Snacks and drinks were freely available throughout the day and a varied meal menu was offered. My mum actually gained 7lb while at Hafod House, which was good. I
would have no hesitation in referring my mother to Hafod House in the future.

I go and visit my brother and his care is fantastic. We want him to be independent and the carers are great at keeping an eye on him. As I do not drive, they give me a lift to the house from the train station. I have had a few meals and the food is lovely, the staff are great and very friendly and helpful.

My Taid loves being at Hafod House, the care staff are 100% brilliant, really caring, the manager is hands-on with everything including the cooking which Taid always comments to say the food is really good,
The home is homely and the staff always makes you feel welcome, refreshments and privacy are
always offered. Taid only came to get himself well to go back home but after a few weeks decided Hafod House was where he wanted to be. He feels safe and well looked after, the home is managed to a high standard and excellent leadership skills.

Had a friend that was a resident of this care home. Visited on many occasions and the staff were amazing, so caring and couldn't do enough to make all the residents comfortable and well looked after. The staff were so kind and welcoming, my friend was always well dressed, clean and looked immaculate.
I cannot praise this care home enough. It is a homely atmosphere, the manager was very approachable and helpful and I noticed was very hands-on.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.113)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.113) out of 10 for Hafod House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.938 for Hafod House is calculated as follows: ( (45 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.938
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.175 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hafod House is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 25 registered maximum number of service users is 5. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 5 = 0.8
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Armani Hammonds

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2024

Hi, my name is Armani and I am the registered home manager for Hafod House. I first started my career in adult social care in 2016 at Hafod House and I have worked in many roles over the years. 4 of which have been in leadership and managerial roles.

My first job in care was as a domestic assistant which I did for a year before becoming a care assistant. I worked as a care assistant for a couple of years before becoming a senior carer and then deputy manager. I left Hafod House for a short period in February 2024 to build more experience and knowledge within other care settings before returning in July 2024 as the deputy manager again as Hafod was where I wanted to be and was where I missed. I was then promoted to home manager in August 2024.

Hafod is a lovely home with a homely feel and has always felt like a 2nd family to me. My mission is to ensure residents feel at home and enjoy every moment they spend with us, as well as to be a place our staff enjoy working at.

Please feel free to contact me at any time.
