9.2 Group Review Score (the average from all locations with a review score)
  • Care Homes Owned by Surecare Group
Sure Care's home aims to provide its residents with a secure, relaxed and homely environment in which their care, well being and comfort are of prime importance.

Carers will strive to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all residents within a warm and caring atmosphere and in so doing will be sensitive to the resident’s ever-changing needs. Such needs may be medical/therapeutic (for physical and mental welfare), cultural, psychological, spiritual, emotional and social.

Residents are encouraged to participate in the development of their individualised Care Plans in which the involvement of family and friends may be appropriate and is greatly valued.

This will be achieved through programmes of activities designed to encourage mental alertness, self esteem and social interaction with other residents and with recognition of Sure Care's values.

All Care Staff within the Home will be appropriately qualified to deliver the highest standards of care. A continuous staff-training programme is implemented to ensure that these high standards are maintained in line with the latest developments in care practices as may be laid down in appropriate Legislation.

When arriving at the home I was greeted from the member of staff who came to the door with a smile and warmth and was asked if they could be of any help after she had introduced herself to me. All the staff were friendly, the residents I saw appeared happy and well looked after. The home was decorated
ready for Christmas and my friend was excited and looking forward to celebrating Christmas with her family at the home. She was also enjoying the Christmas activities which were very varied.
Reply from Cara Jones, Home Manager at The Old VicarageThank you so much for taking the time to share your lovely feedback. Were delighted to hear that you felt warmly welcomed by our staff and that you found the home to be a happy and caring environment. Your kind comments mean a great deal to our whole team and will be shared with everyone involved. Thank you again for your support.

I cannot recommend this care home highly enough. They look after my mum, who is in her 50s and has very complex needs, with exceptional care and compassion. The staff manage her behaviours incredibly well and always ensure she receives the care and support she needs.
I was my mum's sole carer for a
long time, so handing over her care to a full-time service was absolutely heartbreaking. However, the team have made this transition so much easier than I ever thought possible. They have taken away so much stress and worry, and I have complete confidence that my mum is safe, supported, and truly cared for.
Reply from Cara Jones, Home Manager at The Old VicarageThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. It truly means a great deal to the whole team.
We know how incredibly difficult it is to entrust the care of a loved one to others, especially after being their sole carer for so long. Were really honoured that you chose us to support your mum, and were so glad weve been able to make this transition a little easier for you.
Your kind words about our teams care, compassion, and understanding of your mums complex needs are deeply appreciated. Providing a safe, supportive, and genuinely caring environment for both residents and their families is at the heart of everything we do.
Thank you again for your trust and confidenceit means more to us than we can say.

My mum has had the best care, all staff are empathetic, thoughtful and kind.
Nothing is too much trouble and there are always lots of busy staff.
Cleanliness is top notch, not just personal care but everything is clean!
Everything is smooth running and communication is excellent, if you can't get
someone on the phone straight away you know its because they are genuinely busy.
Peace of mind for me and my family that mum really is being well cared for, the kitchen staff are friendly and helpful too always with a smile!

Always warm friendly & welcoming upon arrival. Even though they are busy they still make time to see if everything is ok when you enter the building.
Staff are helpful and very caring. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
Manager is very approachable and never fails to acknowledge.
Food always smells
good when walking passed the kitchen & on the whole the food looks good.
Most times when visiting there appears to be singers and some form of entertainment to keep the residents occupied.
Would definitely recommend

Mum moved into the Vrnwy nursing home in 2024 when it became clear that she needed 24 hour care. The care she has received at the Vrnwy has been excellent. The care team are all friendly, respectful and patient, and the nursing team have ensured that mum's health needs have been managed well. Mum particularly
enjoys the food.
The decking area is a lovely suntrap overlooking the river and is well used by residents including for growing veg.
It's been really reassuring to know that we don't have to worry about her when we're not there.

My wife has been in residence in The Old Vicarage nursing home for about 18 months. She quickly settled in. She suffers with dementia and has no conversation. She does 'talk' a lot but it is not possible to understand what she is trying to say - but she does react very well to all the staff. I cannot
praise them enough for all the care they show her. She has always been interested in singing and joined choirs wherever we have lived. She really enjoys the many singing activities which the home provides.

The staff are very caring and my mother appears to be happy with her carers, who are working to meet all of her needs. The cook is very friendly and came to apologise to my mother when the food that she'd requested was unavailable. The medical staff have been very good at keeping us informed and along
with the other staff caring for us as well.
The building is old and repairs are being carried out on it. The lift is old and not always working.
