I feel I needed to write this since my brother in law has been in Brocklehurst the care he has recieved has been excellent. He is been there for 1 year. Before being in Brocklehurst he was always in hospitail bit for a year he has no issues and not had to be admitted to hospitail that shows that the care he has recieved has been the best. the family are really happy

Hairdresser comes on a Wednesday.

My mum Kathleen E as been in brocklehurst nursing home some late September 2025 . We as a family are very impressed the way mum as come along . Staff are getting mum up and out the bed lovely dressed and washed , up sat in lounge with other residents watching telly chatting with staff and Jess . Mum getting nails done . Then if that isn't enough of to hairdresser to have a wash and trim which is fabulous as mum looks amazing regular visit from Chropdist' . Mum loves the food very well fed plenty of fluids . The fact that you can visit mum anytime . We always go at different times and mum is always happy . The entertainment like singers coming in children singing watching films love atmosphere . Extremely happy with the care and attention to detail. Cleanliness, timing, care and support are excellent. A special credit and mention to one of the staff who goes over and above, it is notable when he is not here. He pays extra attention to every detail, every request. Food and care are never too much and are accommodated. He is always very pleasant and should be nominated for employee of the month/year. Thank you for the excellent care you provide.

One staff member in particular is an absolute asset to Brocklehurst Nursing Home. I have never seen him sit for a second and is always running around ensuring the residents' needs are met/cared for. This staff member takes pride in his job and does a great job. He truly is a carer from the heart and I feel he should be rewarded for all his efforts (employee of the month/year). When this staff member is in it is noticed straight away, one example is how he brings Mum's food on a tray not missing a thing. It may seem like a small thing but I never have to look for him and ask where the dessert is etc. When we ask him for something nothing is too much for him.

Coming from some real bad experience at other care homes Brocklehurst was such a breath of fresh air. Relieved and overjoyed to luckily find a heaven such as this place. We are relieved and so happy.

This is an extremely well run and caring home. As an ex matron I understand the difficulties. Would strongly recommend it. And it's the same whenever and whatever time you come.

The only downside is the lack of activities, they have struggled to find an activities organiser and this is a real shame as they definitely need more daily activities for the residents.

While my father has been at Brocklehurst Nursing Home, he has shown great improvement in certain areas. This is, in part, due to the care he receives from the staff at the home who are both friendly and professional. His mobility and eye-to-hand coordination have improved greatly and his general mood has also shown improvement.

Absolutely terrible. Honestly don't take your loved ones to this hell hole. Poorly staffed, horrible staff, obviously couldn't care less about anyone relying on their help. No one does any work and are extremely abusive. My mother can't breathe, end of life and they are horrible with her, holding back her palliative care medicine. Please don't make the same mistake I did.

My mum was admitted to Brocklehurst Nursing Home in July 2024 where she was admitted from the hospital I found the overall level of care extremely poor even though I complained to the manager on a few occasions. The staff were abrupt and generally uncaring. My mum had 2 falls during the first two weeks of her admission. Sadly she passed away there on 17/8/2024. I would not recommend this Nursing Home to anyone.

The food was really excellent and varied and there was always choice and allowances and he was fully supported and needs catered for.

I visit my sister twice a week. The staff are always very friendly and her room is always tidy and clean.

During the last couple of weeks of my mother's life, I found the nurses and care staff to be exceptional. The care staff, night staff, management and nurses treated my mother with dignity and care and regularly checked in on my mother to reposition her in her bed and pay their respects to her and out family and relatives.

What can I say but perfection. Every single member of staff, nurses, carers, cleaners, chef, maintenance guy, laundrette ladies, are all amazing and go above and beyond for our father-in-law's needs. You don't need to look any further!

My partner has been in Brocklehurst Nursing Home for just over a year now and I wouldn't want her to be anywhere else as the care she receives is excellent, the reception, nurses, meals, cleanliness, and the activities staff, whenever I go to visit you always get a warm welcome hello and a smile from the staff I think they do a great job, once she said to me "they look after me very well in here" which is great and reassuring that she's getting the best care there is, I can't praise Brocklehust enough and a big thank you to you all.

Our mum has been at Brocklehurst Nursing Home for nearly two years. She is very settled and knows all the staff. The staff are wonderful and the love and care given to our mum is exceptional. Relatives and friends are always welcome and communication is clear and timely. Thank you to all the staff for everything you do to make Brocklehurst a very happy home.

Great staff, doing a wonderful job looking after my mum who has severe dementia. I was worried that the move from her previous home, which closed, would have a detrimental impact on her, but she settled in quickly, thanks to the staff.
