My father has been a resident for one year. His private room is very nice, well serviced and exactly suited to his current condition and needs. The communal areas are sunny and bright with plenty of room to relax. The management team, caring staff, cleaners and entertainment team are brilliant. It is immaculately clean and lots of activities.

My mum came to Pen-Y-Garth after a stay in hospital following a number of falls at a previous care home, which despite it's ambience turned out to be lacking in care, with mum mainly confined to her room. The difference in mum since moving in to Pen-Y-Garth is striking! It's all about the care received which in Pen-Y-Garth is wonderful! The staff are understanding and caring, but also professional in what they do. Mum is really happy now thanks to the brilliant care she is getting.

My sister moved to Pen-y-Garth early December 2025. The home is very well run. All staff are helpful and friendly. They look after the residents like they are family, the home is very comfortable and homely. My sister has settled in very well and it puts the family's minds at rest to know she is happy and well looked after. A big thank you to all staff.

Witnessed on regular basis, can verify the highest level of care and support given to 93 years old. Calming atmosphere, all residents, building and rooms were spotlessly clean throughout. Carers themselves expressing bright positive approach with residents as well as visitors arriving at all times. The open door policy much valued and appreciated. Management and staff were available to answer or reassure visitors. Grateful for allowing me to chat/sing interact during social activities provided. Activities are to be commended delivering and adopting varying to suit the residents, amazing, and a privilege to witness. Staff work extremely hard, their dedication commitment is to be commended, and always in a calm manner, all family gave positive feedback on their visits, no concerns leaving a loved one in capable hands.

Throughout the time my mum has been here, the staff have given her the best possible care I could've asked for. She has been well looked after, and whenever there had been any medical issues, they were always prompt at letting me know and keeping me informed. When she came to the end, they treated my mum with such care and dignity and looked after myself and my wife whilst we visited her. I would like to give a special mention and thank you to two members of staff in particular who were exceptional and couldn't have been kinder or more supportive.

My dad was there for 2.5 years. He was always clean and well-dressed. The staff on my visits were always attentive to all the residents, the place was clean and tidy as was his room. I was always contacted if he ever had a fall or anything. The staff were always very caring and supportive during his last days.

Extremely happy with the care my dad receives. All the staff are really friendly and helpful - nothing is too much trouble for them, and they have helped my dad settle in really well and adjust to all the changes. The activities they do with the residents are great fun, and they all seem to enjoy themselves whenever I visit. Couldn't have found a better place to help with all my dad's care needs, where I know he is safe and looked after.

I have nothing but praise for both Pen-y-Garth and the management and staff who run it. My mum is treated with such dignity and respect. She is always nicely dressed and her hair is always neat and tidy.
Since Mum has been a resident here, she has put on weight and eats and drinks really well.

I would highly recommend Pen-y-Garth as a care facility to everyone.

My Mum resided in Pen y Garth from July 2015 diagnosed with vascular dementia until November 2020 when she passed peacefully earlier this week. I would like to extend my thanks to the manager and all the staff at the care home for their love and support for my mother. My Mum was well looked after and the level of support she received during this time was always of the highest standard. In her final week, the emotion and care shown towards my mother will always stay with me forever. The support for both of us during her final days was genuine and I do not have enough good words to say about the staff.

Thank you, to the manager and the team for all you have done for Mum. You truly are a special team and Mum was lucky to have you all.

Our mum was a resident at Pen-y-Garth for almost 2 years, until she passed away in May 2020 in Pen-y-Garth. We have nothing but praise for the care and support that mum and her family received there. Despite our reservations at the start, regarding mum going to live in residential care, mum thrived there and it became her home. It is a lovely environment, friendly, clean and welcoming, usually with lots of activities taking place. We would like to express our love and thanks again to all the carers and staff there, including the Manager and the Activities Coordinator. You all provided the very best care for our mum, through a very difficult time, and that is priceless to her memory. Bless you all.

Our Mum only stayed for four months before passing, but the care of her physically and mentally was excellent. Mum has many challenges with illness and mobility, and all were met and exceeded our expectations. We are truly grateful to the team who looked after Mum so well and supported us unwaveringly and with huge compassion.

With the experience for my mum (with dementia) moving into Pen-y-Garth being very apprehensive, all new and different. She soon became settled, safe and happy. We put this down to the staff and lovely surroundings. All the staff are very attentive to Mum's needs, they are caring and kind. Very professional. Everywhere is clean and safe. The food is especially good. We as a family are very grateful to Pen-y-Garth for making Mum's life the best possible with her illness.
