Redcroft Care Home

My dad has been a resident at Redcroft since October 2021. It was the toughest decision my family and I have had to make moving him into care, but the transition has been so much easier than we could have imagined. My dad is very settled, and his health actually seems to have improved since being at Redcroft. He's made good friends and enjoys the entertainment and interaction with the carers, who are always so friendly and helpful. It is a huge weight lifted off my shoulders, knowing he's in such safe hands.

My stepmother has been living at Redcroft for the past five months and we couldn't have made a better decision for her. The staff have been excellent from the beginning. It's good to know that my stepmother is in such good hands. My stepmother is not one to make friends easily but she has spoken fondly of a number of the other residents, and I've been kept up to date on birthdays and parties. Strict COVID precautions are still in place (which I'm pleased to see considering the vulnerability of many of the residents) but I have been inside recently to help my relative move some of her possessions and I'm always pleased by how Redcroft is always clean and tidy, and I've never heard any complaints about the food. The staff really are amazing, and while I won't delve into personal details, they really have been so incredibly helpful and professional, and have gone well above and beyond in their duties. If I could rate them higher, I would.

Visited my auntie after Christmas after booking a visit. Lateral flow test taken before going in. Staff were expecting my visit and everything was in place for my visit. The staff were friendly and helpful. My auntie was full of praise for the place.

I visited my friend last week and received a lovely warm welome of the staff. The home was clean and tidy and the staff professional and friendly. Really had the home from home feeling. The garden on arrival looked beautifully kept.

I would like to reiterate my thanks to all the staff at Redcroft for the tender, loving care shown to my mother who was a resident at Redcroft for over four years. She passed away peacefully in January this year at the grand age of 101 years, in her own room, and in the presence of her carers who cared for her. We, as a family, will be eternally grateful to you all for your kindness, dedication and love, shown to her and to myself at a very difficult time for us all. It was a great comfort to us her family, that she was always treated as a person and one of the family. We wish you all well for the future as you cope with the many challenges that you face during these still difficult and extraordinary times.

I wish to thank all the management and staff at Redcroft for the love and tender care that my late mother received during her 5-year stay here. Redcroft has a very homely environment as we as a family have always been made welcome on every visit. A huge thank you for being Mum’s close family through a very difficult Covid year and for keeping her and other residents safe through the pandemic. We were always kept up to date with her wellbeing and have had many a video call with her, which kept us going throughout the difficult times. I also wish to express my thanks for allowing us to visit Mum daily as her health deteriorated and allowing us to assist with caring for her. All the staff went above and beyond to look after her as she deteriorated and made her very comfortable, but as her needs got greater she had to move to a Nursing Home. I really appreciate everything that you have did for Mum throughout the years. She loved everything about Redcroft! Thank you all!

My mother was recently at Redcroft on restpite after knee surgery, the staff were extremely welcoming and sympathetic to her needs and personal requirements. The home is very clean and homely and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Excellent home and cannot speak highly enough of all of the staff and the owner who was available.

I have been living in this home for the last 8 months and it's the best thing I did. I am enjoying my retirement life. The food is brilliant and of course, the staff are beyond words. Although the covid is a nightmare, I can speak to my family via WhatsApp and Skype that the company has provided.

My mother has been treated with respect and compassion. The management and staff have been diligent in discovering what makes her comfortable and that her needs are met. When she's required medical assistance the relevant organisations have been contacted immediately and I have been kept aware of her situation in these unusual times. The friendliness and care have been excellent.

It was a huge decision for my mother in law to give up her home and move into residential care, but she very quickly settled in and never looked back. She always praised the standard of the food and enjoyed the banter of the staff. During her time at Redcroft, she was always treated with dignity, respect, and above all kindness. She was one of the family. The management went above and beyond to ensure that all her needs were met while coping with Covid restrictions and regulations, and she was genuinely loved by all the staff. It may sound like a cliche, but the knowledge that she was always treated with tender, loving care, has been a huge comfort to us as a family in recent days. I cannot thank them enough.

After a phone call with my friend who has been a Redcoft sometime, I felt reassured that he had enjoyed a good Christmas, despite the covid restrictions, meaning no visits, he spoke of the care that the staff took to ensure he was well cared for and that he enjoyed the meals.

I'm so happy and relieved to know that day and night Nanna is safe, happy, loved, fed, washed, and superbly looked after. The whole team have massively surpassed my expectations and Nanna's as she said she didn't want to go in a care home. But this is now where she calls home. I can't thank and praise everyone enough.

During these difficult times of COVID-19, I am certain that my Grandmother is in good hands. We are given frequent updates and have the odd video call to keep in touch. The staff are brilliant and have been very supportive towards my Grandmother, ensuring she’s healthy. I can’t thank them enough for putting my mind at ease knowing my special Grandmother is safe.

My mother in law was in Redcroft as her first care home. She really settled in with the staff and the other residents, always happy when we went to see her, loved playing bingo and other games. The owners were really helpful when the COVID started and we couldn't see her, they and their staff Skype us so we could speak and see she was doing well. As she had to go into hospital we were unable to see her and she went downhill very quickly and was moved to a nursing home where she was not looked after! If it wasn't for the hospital insisting she had to go to a nursing home she would have still been at Redcroft happy and well. Redcroft have been in touch with us all the time and after her death. I can not thank them enough for what they did for my mother in law. If she had been able to go back to Redcroft she would still be alive today!

The manager and his team are very genuine and kind and have kept in regular contact with us during very worrying times. We get regular video calls, and we are happy in the knowledge that our relative is kept as safe as possible. This covid has put all care homes under massive pressure, and Redcroft has remained covid-free, a testament to the whole team!

The openness and honesty by the management and staff are some of the key factors that influenced me to put a review. I had the opportunity to visit my neighbour, and although the visit materialised in the morning, in the garden, the feedback from the resident was very positive, and I could see a big difference in his physical and mental health.

My mother has been at Redcroft since December 2019 she is 94years old. This is my second review and is written to express the staff's excellent management of the Covid-19 pandemic. The home locked down before the official instructions to do so. Very caring staff and owners. Lovely home, very clean and tidy, food great and entertainment good. Make you very welcome when you visit and all residents very happy. Nothing too much trouble for the staff, always helpful.

Struck by the kindness of the staff and willingness to go the extra mile, presenting a cheery atmosphere. My friend as gaining confidence in walking again thanks to staff encouragement. Impressed with the range of activities, personal care, respect for dignity of residents, and ability to choose meals. A clean, orderly, and spacious home. My professional background is advocating the rights of older and disabled people. I have visited many homes in Wales with my job and I consider this to now be one of the better ones.

The facilities at this home are excellent everything is very clean. Everywhere in the home is very well maintained. The staff are very caring in their duty. The food that the residents have is excellent and nothing is too much trouble.
