Rashielee Care Home and Day Centre

Thank you for your review. The staff at Rashielee do not consider their work as a job, it is a vocation. Their dedication and attention to detail are reflected in the faces and reactions of the residents. Our goal is to ensure that when you, as a visitor, leave the building you will be confident in the knowledge that your loved one will be cared for as you would do yourself.
We will be making some improvements to the home later this year and hope that you may help with some suggestions. The staff will let you know when. Thank you.

Thank you for your review. We have all gone through the mill with Covid-19 and your input is very gracious considering we have some catching up to do in some areas of the home. It's a bit like painting the Forth Rail bridge just when you get things organised you have to go back to the start. We'll keep you posted with our plans as we move forwards and trust you will be happy to make suggestions.

Thank you for your review. It is very kind of you to take the time to submit your thoughts. It's people who make the home the way it is and residents, relatives and members of staff make it so. Later this year we will be planning to revigorate the rooms and your input will be sought. I'd like to investigate why we scored only 4 stars for safety and security so perhaps when you next visit you could ask for me or relay your thoughts to the staff. We are in between activities staff, we'll ask you more about that soon.

There aren't too many reviews that remind me of why we set out in this journey of providing care for vulnerable people and support for relatives. You described exactly how I felt when I was looking for care for my mother. We couldn't find what we were looking for and my wife who is a retired nurse set out to make a difference. I hope we have, it is a struggle at times but everyone mucks in and helps and that's what counts. We will be making improvements to various areas of the home soon and trust we can count on your input.

Thank you for your kind words of support. The staff at Rashielee are amazing and I am proud of the way they put the care of our residents above themselves. Without a dedicated team, we would be lost. It has been an exceptionally difficult time since your mum came to live at Rashielee, the worry of how Covid-19 would affect all who lived here has been an enormous strain on relatives who were not allowed to visit. We have made it through with strict controls and staff who went to exceptional lengths to keep everyone safe. We will soon be catching up on some areas that need attention in the home. I trust we can rely on you to make suggestions.

Staff at Rashielee are committed to our residents, their families and friends, to ensure that the virus has as little impact as possible. It is important for the care and wellbeing of everyone who lives here, their visitors and the staff who have been fantastic throughout this difficult period.

It is not easy and is much more than just a job. It often demands a whirlwind of emotions to stay focused. Thank you for your review which is lovely. The staff do their best to ensure that their 'family' here are cared for, safe, secure and importantly enjoying this chapter in their life. Chef does his best to make sure the food is sourced locally, is fresh and nourishing, he is constantly seeking to please his customers and will go out of his way to make sure that the meals presented meet expectations. Everyone is doing their utmost to keep the virus out of the building and everyone inside safe. Letting you know what is happening by direct contact and social media gives you a degree of comfort knowing that all is well whilst we are in 'lockdown'.

The last thing anyone should consider is being admitted into long term care, sadly for a lot of people, it is inevitable. It is our job to make sure that this is a new chapter in their life, to be enjoyed as much as all the previous chapters, with a bit of help and TLC. The staff are highly motivated with a true sense of purpose and will do everything possible to keep their new 'family' safe, secure, cared for and happy.
