Can't praise this care home enough. The staff are absolutely amazing and nothing is too much trouble for them. The activities they put on for everyone are outstanding and are geared perfectly to the group as well as individual needs. They provide excellent stimulation and enjoyment. My mum is known as a souper trouper as she is involved in making soup which is eaten by her friends in the home. The management and nursing staff are always on hand to explain any worries my mum or I have. This care home is exceptional and I have recommended it to so many of my friends.

Had such an amazing day at such a well-organised Sports Day... Everything was geared so family and residents got to join in the fun together... Food and drinks laid on for everyone and the sun shone for us... Lovely to sit with your loved one in a relaxed and well-organised event.

My father has been a resident in the home from November 2023, every member of staff has been very good with him since he has gone in. My Dad cannot really do anything for himself so I am very grateful for everything that all staff do. They are all very caring people.

Thank you. We pride ourselves on our committed and caring staff. We do not have a high staff turnover and believe this is reflected in the care provided.

My father became a resident in August 2023, he had dementia. My family and I were worried about how he would manage with the transition into a care home. The excellence of the management team cascaded to all the staff, including carers, domestics, nurses, kitchen staff etc. Everyone was caring, friendly, and approachable. One of the carers would engage with Dad in one-to-one activities such as playing pool. The chef made my Dad's favourite- Tiramisu. We knew we had made the correct decision when we moved Dad into the home, Dad was safe and well looked after. Unfortunately, in January, my dad moved to end of life care, and was then moved onto end of life care. The staff kept myself and family involved in his care, allowing us to spend precious time with him. I will never forget the way they treated my Dad, with the utmost dignity and respect. This will stay with our family forever. My Dad had a peaceful and a good death, which was made possible by the staff within the home.

My Dad has been in Rashielee for nearly two years and suffers from dementia. It was a massive change for him but the staff made this change so much easier. He settled very quickly and now thinks of it as home. Staff are exceptional with the assistant manager particularly great. Regular updates on how my dad is, genuine interest in what more they can do to help him and always keen to hear from me and my brother about how we feel his care is. Highly recommend Rashielee - lovely care home.

Rashielee is a fantastic place to live in as staff are one team from top to bottom. They don't only look after residents but staff as well giving an excellent home-from-home feeling and staff loving their jobs and want to come to work daily. When I visit I notice all residents' needs are looked after and you can ask any member of staff anything and if they don't know they will find out for you. If for any reason you need anything, want something or not happy you can approach management and it is immediately done with no questions asked. I wouldn't leave my mother with anyone but this home is the best.

We needed somewhere for Dad very quickly - Rashielee were really helpful and accommodating, including the early challenges of transitioning to a care home environment. Dad's had a few ups and downs since then, but it's all been handled in a friendly and professional manner. I'm seriously impressed how every single member of staff knows every single resident, their personal likes and dislikes and so quickly after settling in. The care is really proactive - we never have to push for interventions, the team are already ahead of the game in recognising issues and dealing with them. It's everything we could have asked for and more - the atmosphere is so welcoming for every person who walks through the door.

Rashielee Care Home and their staff are amazing, they take good care of all the residents and family of the residents are always made welcome. The staff are very friendly and accommodating if need be and easy to talk to if you have any questions or queries and my dad is very well taken care of. If I had to rate them from 1-10 and I would give them 20.

Overall Experience
Mum was transferred to Rashielee in April this year, having previously been a resident in two other care homes. Rashielee had been on my radar for some time as arguably the gold standard of care homes in the local area.
Our family had hoped, after difficult experiences with previous care homes, that we might be able to care for Mum in her own home, but after this proved unfeasible, I immediately placed Mum on Rashielee's waiting list and was delighted when a place became available 7 weeks later.
The level of care provided, as well as the day-to-day commitment to Mum's quality of life and the genuine empathy shown, has exceeded even the high expectations I had (having spoken with residents' families and others involved with the local care sector).

I would not hesitate to recommend Rashielee to anyone looking for a caring home; I have instructed the management to forward my details to anyone wishing for a more personal account of our family's overall experience there.

Reply from Kirsty Cartin, Home Manager at Rashielee Care Home and Day Centre

Thank you for your kind words Mike. It is important to us, that we have open discussions with all involved about their expectations of care - this ensures that people move to Rashielee with full confidence in the care we provide.

Best wee home ever, staff very caring and attentive to all the residents. Staff in the sitting rooms at all times during the day. Nothing's a bother. So much to do, so many activities, lots of different ones to suit everyone. Wee trips to the coffee van which is great for getting out in the fresh air. My relative is very happy here and the staff are so good to her. Wish there were more homes like this.

Rashielee Care Home and Day Centre has a warm and inviting atmosphere, the staff, who always work as a team, are extremely friendly and approachable. They go above and beyond for residents and genuinely treat them as family members. My mum has been a resident at Rashielee for around four years. In the period of time, her physical and cognitive function has declined, but the care she receives has always been person-centred, which has continued to improved her quality of life. She may not be able to join in on certain activities but again activities that are suited to her needs are provided, such as namaste. Her needs are constantly reviewed and there is always clear and concise communication between staff and our family. My mum is extremely well looked after and I couldn’t fault the home in anyway, I would and do 100% recommend Rashielee Care Home and Day Centre to anyone who needs to consider care for their loves ones.

From the moment you enter Rashielee you just know that it is a homely and pleasant place for your mum/dad. Reception staff are always welcoming and take time to say hello and chat. First impressions are important. My mum who has been with Rashielee for just shy of two years now is very well looked after. Mum is still very sharp witted and the staff take time to chat and yes they have fun. They are also very good at encouraging Mum when she is reluctant to engage with activities. Every time I’m at the home to see Mum, staff stick their heads around the door and say hello. It’s like a big family. Mum also receives great healthcare. I can rest easy in the knowledge that my mum is safe and well looked after.

All the staff are friendly, fun loving and definitely go above and beyond while caring for the residents. There is always a welcoming friendly atmosphere around the home and it is always clean and tidy. The staff do a great job entertaining the residents every day. They could do with someone on the reception desk at the weekends as the care staff are very busy caring for the residents and it seems a shame distracting them to answer the door for visitors and deliveries.

My mum has been cared for in the home for several years. She settled in well straight away thanks to the thoughtful care and security which all the staff in the home provide. Within weeks of moving in she was saying ‘ I should have moved here years ago ‘ which was comforting to hear. The staff team are open to helping to support mum and to keep her happy and go out of their way to manage the physical changes that she is experiencing. Communication between staff and family is very good and we are promptly notified of any change to mum's health or care needs. In short, it’s a great care home!

This care home has been fantastic for my aunt. Every single need is taken care of. The staff do so much for the residents, every day staff and residents can be seen with smiles on their faces. Residents have sensory time which definitely benefits my aunt.

The home is very clean and tidy. All residents are treated with dignity which is of huge importance. Another thing I admire is management do not hide away in an office, they are out and about taking part in activities and mixing with visiting relatives. The staff members are hard working but again acknowledge relatives. The home has a beautiful garden and weather permitting is used by residents to relax in with their visitors. Rashielee has a real family feel to it, we can rest knowing my aunt is being well looked after.

Thank you for taking time to post a review of our care home.
