My mother has been a resident for 6 years in Hutton Park. I am delighted with the warm friendly homely atmosphere , it is more like a seaside boarding house than a care home. The staff are always cheerful and helpful. They treat residents with dignity and know their likes and dislikes on an individual basis. They provide a lot of stimulation and a great deal of effort and fun is put into theme days, parties and special occasions. My mother always said if she ever needed to go into care that she wanted to be somewhere with a lively atmosphere and a lovely view and she certainly gets that in Hutton Park.

We won the lottery, as a family when we found this wee gem of a Care Home for our Mum. The carers are amazing each and every one, my Mum tells me she feels safe and is well looked after. There are lots of daily activities for all tastes and interests, Carla is amazing. The Care team is wonderful, particularly Rebecca, she has been amazing both with my Mum and us as a family, all the Carers are excellent, they interact with the residents in conversation as well as being attentive to their needs. The whole place has a lovely family feel and vibe. I am confident and comforted by the fact that I know my Mum is taken care of with love and respect. The staff are all so friendly. My stepdad is very happy here. They have a great timetable of events and entertainment for the residents. All photos and videos are posted for family and friends to see. The rooms are clean and well maintained.

I also saw young male carers who showed patience and care at times difficult situations. The staff were welcoming to us as a family and I was reassured that my mum was safe and cared for. Hutton Park is a breath of fresh air and I just wish so many more care homes provided such an excellent and caring environment for our vulnerable elders. As a visitor and a local it is a joy to visit the home and Mum. There are so many different types of activities that take place and all residents are encouraged to join in, but there are also activities for smaller groups, and one-to-one engagement. Families are also encouraged to join in, creating shared memories.

My mother has been a resident at Hutton Park for more than 5 years and I can honestly say that in all that time the care, attention and genuine affection from all the staff has been outstanding. Nothing ever seems like too much trouble for the amazing team of carers and they somehow manage to create a lovely family atmosphere for all the residents. It makes such a difference to know that our mother is living in a place where she is not only safe and looked after, she is genuinely cared for too.

The staff at Hutton Park are all lovely and very caring. They work extremely hard and provide a high standard of care. It is a generally good care home but I would advise families to prepare for the worst if your relative’s condition should deteriorate.

They are obviously well-trained and handle all situations with kind care including doing the laundry for them. In fact, the standard of behind-the-scenes work is of a very high standard and I feel very happy that my wife is in such an environment.

My name is Carla Esperanza Silveira Calderín, I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1965. I graduated as a lawyer in 1991.
In 2013, I resigned from my position and travelled to Scotland to marry my childhood sweetheart Francisco Mendez.
During my first year here, I worked as a volunteer. Firstly, with the British Heart Foundation and later with Ardgowan Hospice in Greenock. Then, on the 19th of November 2014, I was offered a permanent full-time job working at Hutton Park Care Home in Largs. I fell in love with my new job from day one.
Coordinating and creating the best activities for residents and seeing them happy laughing and enjoying what they do fills my life and makes me feel very happy. I feel happy knowing that every day, all these elderly residents and patients that I care for, receive all my love and dedication. Each drop of love that I put in my daily work contributes to giving a strong quality and care to the residents within Hutton Park and I want to keep developing in this area.I finished my SVQ level 2 and level 3 about two years ago and also annually I update all the courses related to my new career.
