My beautiful mum was only in Templeton House Care Home for a short while, in that time, I couldn’t ask for anything more from the amazing staff. When I say they care, I mean every word, not just the residents but families too. The staff made my mum’s last few weeks as comfortable as any family could

Mum has been a resident of Templeton House since August 2021. I have nothing but praise for the staff. The patience and compassion demonstrated in challenging situations ensure every time I leave, I am confident Mum is in safe hands.
The food is nutritious and varied. Entertainment every day and birthdays
are celebrated enthusiastically.
When a family has to make the hard decision to place a loved one in a caring environment, having Templeton House as an option is peace of mind all day, every day.

My lovely mum spent a year in interim care at Templeton House Care Home which turned to end-of-life care in the last few days. The staff had to work extremely hard to care for everyone in a safe and secure way through Covid months. I think they coped well under the circumstances. It was just lovely
to see how things bloomed once everything opened up, activities started up, concerts were arranged and entertainers came in. The home really treated everyone with dignity and individuality no matter what difficulties each resident was facing. The staff and management are wonderful, not just the nursing staff and carers but the receptionists and the hair and beauty salon staff. Everyone treats the residents with care, independence, and dignity. They are also very welcoming to relatives who are often going through difficult times themselves worrying about their loved ones. I will miss seeing all the staff, they lifted me up many times when I was feeling anxious. Mum and I thank you and I miss you all.

I would like to thank all of the management and staff for their continued support while caring for my wife at Templeton House Care Home. The service is first class and the level of care is outstanding. My wife has MS and due to this, her needs are now more complex which the care team at Templeton House
have adapted to very quickly. Today, my wife is receiving a new wheelchair that she requires to support her and to allow us, as a family, to take her out for walks. The team arranged this and kept me informed at all times. All I can say is to all the management and staff is to keep up the great work that you are doing as it is showing tremendous results.

Mum arrived at Templeton House very withdrawn in May last year at a very difficult time in Covid lockdown. The care she has received since she arrived has been great and she is very involved in activities, days out and she also likes the lovely garden.

My dad, 87, fell in January 2021. A pin in his hip, a diagnosis of Parkinson’s and a 9-week hospital stay led him to research care homes, online, as we all knew his days of independent living were closing. He found Templeton House Care Home and felt them to be the best and requested that I look into
this and to arrange a visit to see it. His research was absolutely correct. The staff do everything possible to keep him comfortable, and safe. I’m regularly updated on Dad’s health and well-being. They monitor him, and his mobility, and it gives us all such comfort and reassurance knowing he’s being well looked after. He’s eating better food; he’s getting personal care, and having a wet room is making life so much easier for him to maintain that. The facilities are excellent. All the staff I’ve met are amazing, very friendly, very caring and all very genuine. I’ve never been happier about dad’s future; it is entirely due to the tireless work of the Templeton House staff. Be proud of that and thank you.

Mum was in your care for 16 months. During that time staff treated her with respect, dignity and pride. Her personal needs were always met and she always looked well dressed and cared for. She particularly enjoyed her weekly manicure and hair appointment in the Salon. She participated and enjoyed the
varied and wide range of activities provided which kept her stimulated. We took mum out often for lunch and she was always well dressed and ready to go when we said we would collect her. The Team got to know Mum very quickly and spent time with her chatting about her family and her life before she became a resident. We also enjoyed many sunny afternoons in the garden with Mum. The staff go above and beyond to care for their residents with kindness and compassion and never lose their sense of humour which Mum really enjoyed. Communication is good throughout the home from management down through the team. We were always made welcome and were made to feel like friends.

My father was in Templeton House as an interim placement for 8 weeks. During that time his personal needs were catered for by all staff with great compassion and a genuine sense of caring. Within days of his arrival, staff were familiar with his routine and preferences and this made him feel secure
and settled. Staff also made a point of spending time talking to dad when he was going through periods of anxiety. Dad was able to take part in several social activities which he thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately, due to covid restrictions dad was not able to make full use of the facilities and lovely grounds. Management and staff communicated with us when necessary and during covid outbreaks, we were updated on a regular basis. Overall, we were more than happy with the care my dad received.

My Mum has resided in Templeton House for the past 2-years. During this time I have nothing but praise for the dedicated caring staff, from the manager down. The home is modern, bright and welcoming with exceptional gardens where residents and family can sit to enjoy a summer visit. The standard of
activities is high, giving good stimulation which my Mum requires to keep her brain happy! The family have just enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea with a birthday cake which the home provided in their private Burns Room for my Mum’s 105th birthday. The activities leader has done a fantastic job setting up and catering for our every wish. Nothing is too much trouble for any member of the friendly and caring staff. I am very happy to recommend Templeton House. Many thanks to everyone for looking after my Mum with such cheerful dedication.

My wife was a resident in the home for 3 years. Due to her Alzheimer’s, her quality of life deteriorated especially over the final 2 weeks. During those difficult days, the staff were simply amazing in the care and love shown, not only to her but also to myself and family. Nothing was too much bother
for them. If I was asked to sum them up in one word it would be 'overwhelmed.' No praise is too high for them.

My aunt has been in Templeton House for almost two years now and over that time she has generally been in good health and the care has been good. Over the past 6 months, with the home being under severe restrictions due to Covid19 the care seemed to be ok, however, communication with ourselves was poor
and many calls went unanswered and emails were not replied to. We also had issues with arranging visits in person and by Skype - many just being forgotten about and others with little or no supervision allowing my aunt to cut the call off in error and then no call back. I am glad to say that since the recent change of manager, there appears to be a more professional attitude developing and staff seem to have taken that onboard- communication has increased not only on a general level but also with more calls from the nurses regarding my aunt's well being. We are delighted with this improvement and look forward with anticipation to continuing this improvement going forward.

My nana and papa both entered the care home during the pandemic. Unfortunately, they were placed in another care home before lockdown due to a change in circumstances to allow us time to sort out a long term solution, however, then lockdown happened, and we had no access at all to them, this was not
due to lockdown itself rather a poorly ran care home that provided us with very little updates on information about their welfare. We then managed to get them into Templeton even during the toughest of times, and the difference is night and day.


I can't thank Templeton and all the staff enough for what they have done in the last year, it has still been tough for everyone, but for a family who was heavily involved in the day-to-day care of our nana and papa, they have understood the importance to stay connected with them in any way we can and have provided us with as much contact as possible. I would like to thank them also for the high level of care they have provided for them as well.

My mum moved from her care home she had lived in for five years to Templeton House in December 2020. We were concerned about moving Mum after five years as to how it would affect her journey. We are delighted to say our mum has settled in perfectly. This is all due to the professionalism and hard work
of the staff. Staff kept in contact with me on how Mum was settling and ensured that I had contact with her during this difficult time. It’s great to see Mum so settled and happy this could never have happened without such a great team. As a family, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the manager and the great team she has for all the support they have given us as a family and the great care they give every day. Its been comforting for us to know that Mum is being cared for by such a great team. Could not wish for a better place for Mum to call her home. Thoroughly recommend Templeton House.

I am a care home manager. My mum went into Templeton House in Ayr over 2 weeks ago. I do not work for this company. She has dementia. From the manager down I have never been so impressed, the staff are a credit every one of them from domestic, to care, to reception, to kitchen, every last one of them.
The nurses professional, honest, caring, kind and my mum wasn’t the easiest. I know they protected me, my dad and my family and most of all they cared for my mum with the highest standard of care.
They walked with her when she was looking for my dad and they laughed with her when she was up for it and when I spoke to any of them they felt my sadness. We decided as dad couldn’t cope being apart from her to take her home. We will be eternally grateful. She said on the way out I love them I’m going to miss them. Today she has no recall at all but always in my heart, thank you one all and would recommend this home to anyone.

This is a lovely modern care home with excellent management and first-class care staff. Everyone is welcoming, friendly, approachable and nothing is too much trouble. My Mother very recently moved into this home during COVID-19 and is settling well due to the hard work and high standards of care being
provided by staff. She particularly enjoys walks in the beautiful walled garden, varied activities which she is encouraged to take part in and her time spent in the hair and nail salon. I am kept fully up to date with Mum's wellbeing and I am confident she is safe, comfortable, well looked after and her best interests are being met by all members of staff. I would highly recommend this home.

I started my career at a care assistant 22 years ago and have developed my skills, knowledge and qualifications to progress to management and have a wealth of experience within the care industry. Tracy qualified as a nurse in 2009 and has worked in care homes her entire career, starting as a newly qualified nurse to deputy manager.


Tracy has plentiful experience in the care of the elderly and dementia care. Tracy is a naturally caring person which she believes is an important value to have. As deputy manager at Templeton House, Tracy aims to ensure that residents’ lives are lived to the fullest, that they are cared for the way they deserve and that staff families are supported.
