Templeton House

After viewing many nursing homes in Ayr, I knew whenever I walked in the door that this was the one. Everything is 1st class from the staff to the facilities and I know that David is being well cared for and that he is happy and safe. I am always made very welcome and that means a lot to me. As summer is approaching I am looking forward to sitting the lovely garden and having my lunch some days with him so I know I have made the right choice and look forward to David having many happy days here!

Both my mother and father have been cared for by the outstanding team in Templeton. My father for 3 years and my mother for 6 years. I cannot even begin to praise the staff for what they have done over the years for our parents and the family.

My mother has been in Templeton House now three months. We moved her in on the 1st December in time for Christmas. In the end that worked out so well because the staff made Christmas a real event for her. There was entertainment for the residents all through December with carol singing, kids visiting, as well as other events that seem to happen nearly every day like films, quizzes etc. The staff are the home are excellent. It puts our minds (myself and my sisters) at rest knowing she is being looked after so well with compassion, understanding and gentleness. I cannot thank them all enough.

Our mum opted for Templeton House for two weeks respite on the recommendation of her Church Elder. She thoroughly enjoyed her stay and the excellent care she received. She especially enjoyed the hair appointment, trip the the Burrell, and the Garden Centre trip.

My wife became a resident inTempleton House, April 2023, due to Alzheimer's Disease getting increasingly difficult at home. The carers are all very efficient, and look after her very well. The nursing staff keep me informed of any changes to her health, at the moment there is difficulty in getting her to eat, and they are trying to encourage her to eat by giving her a second choice if she doesn't want the first choice. The home itself is beautifully situated, with a lovely garden that is secure, and on sunny days is well utilised by residents on all floors. The activity staff are efficient at keeping the residents interested in activities, and the bus provides an outlet for the residents to get a change of scenery. The kitchen staff provide excellent meals, and superb bakery for the residents.

My aunt was cared for in Templeton House for the past 18 months and I would like to commend the management and staff for the caring and respectful manner in which they treated her. The building and grounds are beautifully maintained and a the staff are always looking for opportunities to stimulate the residents. The management, care and nursing staff are all very professional and caring in their dealings with the residents and visitors. I would recommend Templeton House to anybody looking for a Care Home for a loved one.

My mother was admitted to Templeton House for emergency respite. The process took only a few days to organise prior to being admitted. She had a lovely co-ordinated room with a view of the garden which she commented on. Her room also had her name on the door, a welcome card and box of chocolates, which was a lovely touch. The staff were very attentive and welcoming. Sadly Mum passed away overnight that night. I cannot praise the staff and management enough for the respect and dignity shown to Mum and to myself. I would have no hesitation in recommending both the home environment and staff to anyone looking to rehome a loved one either permanently or for respite.

You instantly get a homely feeling when you enter the building. The care, compassion, and friendliness shown to my friend never changed during that time. Every single member of the team contributed to looking after her every need. As a visitor, I was always made more than welcome. Many thanks to the wonderful team of Templeton House.

My mum moved into the home in November 2024 and was quite apprehensive about the change. I could not be happier with the support my mum received from the day she arrived. Friendly, helpful staff who went out their way to make her feel welcome. I have noticed a vast improvement in my mum's health and well being, which makes our own family reassured. There are activities on a daily basis and my mum looks forward to attending the home hair salon on a regular basis. Staff have also arranged a special wheelchair for my mum so she will be able the beautiful gardens when the weather gets better.

They provide various activities throughout the day, which make such a difference to my aunt's life, it is very sociable and helps her to meet and spend a lot of time with other people.

The care my mother receives at Templeton House is outstanding. Cannot fault a single thing. She has settled so well and joins in all activities. The staff (all of them) are fantastic. What a weight off the family's mind to know how well she is looked after.

My dad has been a resident at Templeton House for over a year. The care he has received has been brilliant. I am continually impressed with all the staff caring for Dad. They seem genuinely fond of him, even when his behaviour can be a challenge. Dad has had a few health issues lately and his team have updated us regularly and taken every step to ensure his wellbeing. The home itself is very welcoming and the garden is lovely. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Templeton House to anyone considering options for their relatives. It was a difficult decision handing over his care to others but I know he is receiving the best care available.

My Mum has been a resident of Templeton House for some time now and is very content there. I know she feels safe and I am so grateful to know that the staff will contact me straightaway if they have any concerns. The staff are all excellent and truly care about the residents, they are always finding innovative ways to make the residents' days interesting and brighter. The residents are always treated with respect and dignity and many of the staff have been there for several years which tells me that they too feel valued by the House management team. I always feel welcomed when I visit, Templeton House is bright and warm and the grounds are truly beautiful throughout the year.

My mum went into the care home in December and has settled in really well. The staff have gone over and above the call of duty to make sure Mum’s experience has been very positive. The facilities are excellent and all the activities are well attended. The many lounges and garden are just beautiful. The residents are always happy too. Hand on heart, I cannot recommend this home enough. I am delighted by the care Mum is receiving.

My wife recently enjoyed a week's respite in Templeton House allowing her family some much-needed respite as well. The care she received was exemplary. Not only was her care attended to but the friendliness and professionalism of the staff made her stay all the more enjoyable. The atmosphere is relaxed and she felt included in activities and with other residents. The facilities are great and she took advantage of getting her hair done in the on-premise hair salon. There's plenty of choice at meal times and the food is plentiful and well cooked. This is the second time we've used Templeton House for respite and she's already looking forward to another visit soon. Thanks from all the family.

After a lengthy stay in hospital where my mum began to significantly deteriorate we made the difficult decision to move her into a care home. After visiting a few homes we decided Templeton House would match her care needs and support her to make this life change. Her first weeks of adjusting to a new life were difficult for her and she was not the easiest resident, but the staff at Templeton House have been fantastic. I never fully appreciated what being a carer meant until witnessing what all the staff at Templeton House do. Nothing is too much trouble and they are so proactive in anticipating Mum and our needs. They have a difficult job, but do it with an outstanding attitude of love and care for the residents. They are all true professionals and I can't thank them enough for what they are doing for my Mum. The facilities and environment are superb and now Mum has acclimatised she is also enjoying the daily activities. The most important aspect though are the staff and they are amazing.

Also still awaiting a refund of initial deposits nearly two months after my mother's death after a bad fall at Templeton on this account, radio silence from both the home and accounts, who cite internal procedures.
