Dad has greatly improved since he has had his time in Brookfields, he is as happy as he was before mum passed, and he has made new friends, something he would not do and could not do when he was at home. The staff at Brookfields are great, they are thoughtful and caring and dad gives them a laugh most every day, again something he was unable to do at home on his own. He is no longer 'lost', has good companionship and enjoys his food, he tries to be first down for his meals and is now happy to leave his room and join with others in the dining room. So dad is very happy and Brookfields is the best place he could be for all-round well-being. So thank you Brookfields and staff.

My mum was a little apprehensive at the thought of going into a care home, as were my sisters and I, but the staff here are fantastic, they have made the transition so much easier. She now loves them and she loves her new home. Cannot speak highly enough of the team that works there and all that they do for all the residents.

My granny has been in Brookfield since November 2021. She thoroughly enjoys the activities at Brookfield; the activities coordinator is fantastic not only with my granny but all the residents. The care staff are always mindful of things that my granny likes to do, which makes such a difference to her day. She is always having a laugh and a joke with all the staff and telling me lots of stories. All staff are very welcoming when I visit my granny and are very supportive of us as a family.

My mum seems to be happy enough with the care she receives, and management deal with any queries that I have. Staff seem really nice and engage with her as much as they can.

Brookfield is a lovely care home. I find the staff helpful and make me feel welcome when I visit. Visits and phone calls are always accommodated and I am always kept up to date with mums health and well being. There is a lovely garden with outdoor seating for the residents to enjoy in fine weather.
My mother tells me she enjoys the meals at Brookfield and the kitchen staff can always accommodate her likes. My late father was also a past resident who enjoyed his stay.
I feel that Brookfield is providing a safe environment for residents and visitors through what has been a challenging 2 years.

Well done Brookfield.

Mum has been a resident for 3 months now and I cannot praise the Manager and staff highly enough. They welcomed mum into their home and have gone above and beyond to make her happy and to see to all her needs. The care she receives is fantastic and nothing is too much trouble. It really is a homely welcoming place to live. I would highly recommend it to any families looking for a lovely place for their loved one.

My mother went into Balhousie Brookfield, Carnoustie in April 2020, the early part of the Scottish lockdown. Being a challenging time both with covid restrictions and the situation with my mum at the time, it can only be said that the staff were more than helpful and reassuring. Visits, while restricted, were managed with the emotional needs of the family in mind.
While my Mum has periods where she can be difficult, the situation is handled with care and respect. At times Mum spends a lot of time in bed, she is respectfully encouraged to get up and dressed and go for her meals.
The care and engagement of the staff with Mum is obvious, on visits, there is always a smile and cheery response from and to the staff members involved in my visit.
There is issue regarding Mother’s stability in movement which can lead to falls, I commend the staff in always informing me of any falls and how she is.

In general, I cannot fault the care and attention my mother receives on a daily basis.

I cannot praise the staff at Brookfield enough. They are absolutely brilliant.
My uncle entered Brookfield during the second lockdown and the staff went out of their way to settle him in and make him feel at home. This was difficult as no visitors were allowed. The staff have a wonderful way with him having taken the time to get to know him. When he has been unwell the staff have kept me informed at all times.

The room he has is beautiful and gives the feeling of home. He enjoys his meals and when well takes part in organised activities. I am so glad he is in Brookfield as the staff go over and above the call of duty in caring for him. I feel happy and confident that he is in an environment where he is comfortable and safe.

Mum went into Balhousie Brookfield on the day of Scottish lockdown last year. It was very hard to leave her there, not knowing when we would see her again.
The staff were more than helpful and reassuring. We were allowed window visits to her room. Mum is always praising the staff and having a laugh with them. She gets very tired and spends a lot of time in bed, but she is encouraged to get up and dressed and go for her meals.
I am always informed if she has a fall and how she is. With the relaxation of Covid rules we are getting indoor visits now, but I still haven't seen her new room. In time.

I am very happy with the care and love mum's receives on a daily basis.

My mum was admitted to Balhousie Brookfield over Covid lockdown and the home were amazing at welcoming and settling her when she was unable to have visitors. Mum’s reports of food are excellent and she speaks very highly of the staff. Staff are always extremely helpful and seem genuinely caring. The activities on offer and the encouragement given to Mum to participate, is excellent. Mum is so happy again and has improved physically and mentally with wonderful care, food and stimulation. Highly recommend Brookfield who have given Mum her life back.

From the moment my mother-in-law went into Brookfield for respite care 2 years ago and decided to become a permanent member of the Brookfield Family, we cannot praise the care, attention and love shown to her and us as a family highly enough.
During this past difficult year due to Covid and deterioration in my mother-in-law's health, the carers have kept in touch and always been there to listen.

We are so proud of all the team for keeping everyone safe during this pandemic.

Our Mum is new to Brookfield and has settled in extremely well. It was a difficult decision for the family to make but seeing and hearing how happy she is makes us confident it was the right move. The staff have been wonderful with her and have played a big part settling her in in such a short space of time. We long for the day when we can have face to face visits with Mum and to get to know the staff better.

This seems a very homely place with not too many residents. I find the carers very good and always happy to tell me how my mother is when I phone up. They also make an effort to fulfil any request I have.
Due to the pandemic, I have not been inside the home since my mother's admission and I find it very depressing looking in at her from the window as she has deteriorated. I long to be able to be with her inside. She has poor hearing so phone calls are not successful. Recently the home has an intercom I can use from the window which allows her to hear me clearly. This is a tremendous help.

I like to hear of activities going on with the resident group and glad when mum joins this. I also like to think of one to one activity in her room eg to look at family DVD and stimulate memories or to play a game like connect 4. Mum often is very tired and carers listen to this and often assist her to bed for rest when needed. Her room is small but has all she needs and tv can be viewed from the chair or bed.
