The staff at BCG Monkbarns Care Home are an excellent team, providing a superior level of care and support to the residents. Not only do they provide a high standard of personal care, help with meals where required and all the assistance which is necessary as part of day to day living, but they bring empathy, friendship and fun to the resident. Making a positive impact on their lives. The rooms were always spotless and laundry promptly turned around. The bedrooms are bright and cheery and some lovely seaside views from lounges.

Many thanks indeed to all the hardworking staff!

My mother has been in Monkbarns for over a year now. From the initial search for a home to the ongoing care my mum has received it has been nothing less than truly excellent. The care home is brilliant. The staff are brilliant and the activities keep my mum entertained. Big shout out to Debbie and the staff in Seaview especially. They have been a great help to my mum and to myself. Taking amazing care of her and setting my mind at ease when dealing with dementia.

We have been so pleasantly surprised since Mum has been living here having previously feared care homes! The building is so clean, fresh and bright with all facilities needed to keep the residents safe and happy. Mum seems to like the varied food and afternoon "cuppies". The care staff are incredible- caring, efficient, happy in their work and

so so patient!! The entertainment team also do a great job of providing a large variety of optional activities to keep everyone entertained. We are so relieved and relaxed knowing Mum is being cared for in such a professional setting.

My mother has been a resident at Monkbarns since December 2024. Monkbarns is spotless, airy and bright. However, it is the staff that make it such a wonderful place.

I feel such relief being able to leave my mum in such capable hands. We truly appreciate how hard the carers work and what a tough job they have, not only physically but mentally. They excel on a day to day basis and I can't thank them enough for taking such good care of my mum. Its not easy!

I am very happy with the care and support my mother receives in Monkbarns Care Home. The staff work so hard to look after her they always find time to have friendly chats as well. It would be wonderful if the home can provide transport so residents can be taken on day trips as well as the indoor activities. The staff are always helpful keeping me informed of my mothers needs and are so friendly. My mother keeps telling me how happy she is and loves the staff.

Mum was well looked after and treated like part of a very large family, which I got a lot of reassurance from. The care, love and attention from most staff was a great comfort to myself as I had cared for my mum for 14 years and it was a tough decision for me, but I could not have gotten a better place anywhere than Monkbarns. Thanks to them all.

Overall my mother's and my experience is satisfactory. Communication can be a problem with important messages or information not being passed on. Either from the home to myself or from " the outside" to my mother. Also communication between staff can be lax as there has been quite a change over the staff. Usually I find when I feel I'm getting somewhere with a staff member I can rely on/trust- they leave or are transferred to another unit.

This is an amazing place. My dad stays here. We are so positive about this home, because that is what it is, a home. My dad is not the most sociable person, but he loves to read. When there is an event on, he is always invited, but if he doesn't feel like it, he happily sits and reads or sleeps. Before he moved in he had this miseries that everyone would just be sat in a room half asleep. He was so, so wrong in this belief, there are so many activities arranged for residents, they can be kept busy socialising, or in his case not often, but supported to do what he wants to do. He loves the home, great weight off of my shoulders. The food completely to his taste and we can't praise enough the staff. They are friendly, helpful and always have time to chat if that's what he needs. I would highly recommend this home, I have great confidence my dad couldn't be anywhere better. Thanks.

the staff are very friendly and helpful. They gave Mum care, privacy and dignity while in their care. Mum was very happy there and that means the world to myself and my family. We can relax knowing that she was safe and well cared for, there was someone there 24/7 to meet her needs. Mum's room was good. Mum enjoyed all the activities provided, especially when they had the music afternoons. The manager's door is always open, especially if you have a query about anything.

There’s nothing bad to say.
Standards are extremely high, and all staff are very approachable and pleasant, to residents and visitors alike.
It’s good to see maintenance and upgrades happening when visiting.
The food looks nutritious and delicious, especially celebration cakes.
There is a good variety of events in which families are more than welcome to participate with loved ones.

Any concerns have been dealt with promptly and professionally.

I can honestly say my dad was very happy in Balhousie Monkbarns Care Home, the staff there are great and very welcoming. The staff put on activities which were voluntary, the zoo, the circus, a football match to name but a few. His room had its own bathroom with shower. Meals provided daily. Pool table downstairs, which my dad loved, he would play card games and dominoes etc. with his friends. A kitty is kept for all residents and topped up by relatives for haircuts etc. Highly recommend Monkbarns.

My dad has now been in Balhousie Monkbarns Care Home for nearly 4 months. Has taken him a long time to settle but with the amazing care and patience of the staff he's starting to enjoy living there. Dad is looking forward to being able to go and help in the garden. I have struggled with Dad being in a care home but all staff are amazing not only to Dad but to myself. I have had bad days leaving Dad but the staff are all so supportive. The manager's door is always open for me and she is so supportive when dad sees her they always have a laugh which is great to see and which Dad needs.

My mother has been a resident of Monkbarns Care Home since March 2020.
I am very happy with the care and support that is provided by the very professional staff in my mum's unit. They update me every visit about how my mum has been and phone me if my mum has had any health issues and falls etc. My mum is a very private person and prefers to stay in her room, mainly because she is hard of hearing but does not accept it. The staff try to involve my mum by introducing her to new residents and always invite and encourage her to join in with all the activities that the staff lay on for the residents and they leave it up to her to decide if she wants to participate or not.

I was very impressed with the way that the staff managed the home during the worst part of the Covid restrictions by keeping the residents safe and well and in contact with me and the rest of my family. They have even done separate meals for my mum as she is very stuck in her ways with what she eats.

My mum passed away at Christmas 2021 after a short illness. It was all a bit of a shock for our family as it happened very quickly. The staff in Monkbarns "Fraser unit" were fantastic. They offered support and kindness to us and Mum throughout the whole experience. One lady needs a special mention; she went above and beyond to help us through it. She was on duty the day Mum died - thank you.
