I initially looked around all the care homes in my area and inspected a few with a good reputation, I did visit the other homes in my area and found Tigh NA MUIRN on my list. They made my choosing a perfect home extremely easy.
From my first contact by phone to management and office staff I was really impressed by the friendly, competent and helpful staff.
When I did visit the home I was really surprised how the care home operated. It was obvious the residents were happy and extremely well cared for with an especially personal touch from all staff. The icing on the cake was they could offer us immediate respite care with a view to making it a permanent situation which we did.
I am truly amazed the level of help and personal care offered and carried out with kindness and professionalism.
I would without doubt recommend Tigh Na Muirn to anyone
Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review of Tigh-Na-Muirn Care Home. We know that finding a care home at short notice can be an emotional and overwhelming experience, so it means a great deal to hear that our team was able to make the process feel easier and more reassuring...
Tigh Na Muirn is an exceptional care home. My Mum began her time here as a temporary respite resident and from the moment my Mum moved in and to now becoming a permenant resident there has been nothing but kindness, support, care and love from every member of the team. The care home feels very homely and comforting and the staff are amazing at getting to know not just the residents but the extended family as well. The staff go above and beyond to ensure the safety, needs and interests of the residents are met. The communication is fantastic with newsletters, emails or even just quick informal chats in the corridors. The activities, entertainment and meals are brilliant and again families are always welcomed to join in and very much be part of the care home life. As a family we couldn't be happier with Tigh Na Muirn and know that it is providing everything our Mum has needed and more.
Creating a warm, welcoming environment...
Tigh Na Muirn manages to be a place of high competence, professionalism and clear, well-founded knowledge, while also offering a warm and cheerful environment for all. I felt confident that my sister was in good hands, and she reported feeling safe there. She liked the staff and appreciated their humour and attention to every detail of her comfort.
I would recommend Tigh Na Muirn without a moment's hesitation, and I am deeply grateful to the staff there for helping our family through an extremely difficult time.
Supporting people and their families during such important and difficult times is...
The social areas allow for quiet moments or private visits, and the home feels like a warm community. Staff work hard and show patience and care tailored to each resident. My auntie is happy, well-supported, and has made friends. Staff are very friendly, welcoming and supportive
It's wonderful to know that the activities, events and little touches throughout the home help make it...
Turns out she didn't have long, but the care - and love is not too strong a word - helped enormously. Not just for her, but for her family and friends too.
I cannot speak highly enough of Tigh-na-Muirn. The setting, the rooms and above all the staff are truly exceptional. Absolutely first class.
It means a great deal to hear that the care your mother received stayed with your family, and that we could be there...
My mother was a resident in Tigh na Muirn for 3 years, and I would highly recommend it. The environment, facilities, food, activities were all excellent, but most importantly, the staff were wonderful. They were professional, knowledgeable, attentive and efficient, but also so caring, kind and cheerful. My mother received personalised, thoughtful care. Communication with the family was very good - we were kept well informed of any issues, were involved in decision making and always felt able to ask questions and discuss her care. We were always confident that our mother was safe and being well looked after.
It means a great deal to all of us at Tigh-Na-Muirn Care Home to hear that your mother's time with us was a positive one. Knowing that she felt safe, well cared for, and treated as an individual is exactly what...
I have always found the home to be welcoming and caring which, as a visitor, makes it a pleasant experience which I am sure may not be said for all homes. I also like the interaction that the staff have with my uncle and I can see the difference that it makes to his day
Thank you for sharing your lovely feedback. Creating a welcoming and caring environment for both residents and visitors is very important to us here at Tigh-Na-Muirn Care Home and it's wonderful to hear that this is felt when you visit. Knowing that the positive interactions between our staff and your uncle make a difference to his day means a great deal to the whole team.
Mum has been a resident of TNM for almost 1& a half years now. I cannot fault any aspects of her care, staff, facilities etc during that time. As a family we have the utmost trust that Mum is being looked after to very high standards and that she is in the best possible place.
It means a great deal to us to know that you feel confident she's in the...
She has made some new friends already and seems to be enjoying herself.
It's great to know she's already making new friends and enjoying herself. Your kind words mean a lot to the team, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.
Tigh-Na-Muirn has a very positive atmosphere where the care for mum has been excellent. All the staff are very attentive, friendly and above all caring and kind. They do their best to look after the residents attending to their individual needs and requirements. The communication around mum's needs / progress has been excellent which is reassuring and makes it feel that the family and care team are working together. I would not hesitate to recommend Tigh-Na-Muirn to others.
Thank you so much for your kind recommendation and feedback. Everyone at Tigh-Na-Muirn Care Home is delighted to hear that the care, communication, and supportive atmosphere bring reassurance to you and your family. Working closely with families to meet each resident's individual needs is incredibly important to us, and your words mean a great deal to the whole team.
Attentive , affectionate staff worked very well as a team and it was a pleasant and happy environment as much as it could be for Mum (and me) . End of life care was well planned ,effectively delivered for both mum and me .Excellent communication with GP and District Nurses both day and night .
I was extremely satisfied with the care provided .
A superb care home with wonderful staff.
Thank you for taking the time to share such a heartfelt and detailed review. Everyone at Tigh Na Muirn Care Home feels truly honoured to have supported your mum and you during such a difficult time. Providing care that is safe, kind, and dignified, while offering reassurance and clear...
I could not have wished him to be at a better home at that time. The care he got was exceptional. All of the staff were so kind and understanding which gave me piece of mind knowing that he was being cared for properly.
As well, the home was beautiful. Having looked round several homes before selecting Tigh-Na-Muirn, this was the only home I saw that didn't feel like a hospital. And although my dad wasn't able to take part in the resident activities, when I visited , I felt as though I was in a hotel or a Spa rather than a residential home.
I couldn't thank the staff enough for the great care they provided for the short time my dad stayed there.
Thank you very much for sharing your kind words with us. Please accept our deepest condolences on the passing of your father. It is a privilege to know that the care and environment we provided brought comfort to both him, and to you, during such a difficult time. Your message will be shared with our team, and I know they will be truly touched by your appreciation.
Friendly staff who are very attentive to both my mother and to any queries I might pose. Excellent communication with me on any treatments, issues, etc related to my mother, no matter how small. Although her mobility is poor, more opportunities for an escorted walk and/or fresh air might be beneficial. For the family, though, the bottom line is that our mother enjoys her time and is happy day to day.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts. We are delighted to hear how comfortable and supported your mother feels, and that our team's approach has given you confidence and peace of mind. Your feedback about increasing outdoor opportunities is especially helpful. Knowing that...
Clean and comfortable with friendly and helpful staff. Good food and weekly entertainment. easy access to walk in the grounds outside. good parking for visitors with instant access to enter the front door.
Thank you for your excellent feedback. We're delighted that you find our home to be clean and welcoming, with good food and activities, along with easy access to the grounds and parking. Your comments also mean a great deal to our team. With grateful thanks from all at Tigh-Na-Muirn Care Home.
I am very impressed with the professional care my sister in law has received at Tigh Na Muirn. The staff are extremely helpful and from the very first day she moved in I was kept informed by e mail or phone to how she was.It was a difficult decision to move her to a care home but can say it was the best choice. The activities, outings etc are well chosen and having a hairdresser on site is a great addition.I enjoy going to visit and being able to have a coffee /Tea and biscuits and a chat.I have recommended the home to others as a consideration for their relatives.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. We're delighted to hear that your sister-in-law has settled in well at Tigh Na Muirn, and that you've felt reassured and supported right from her very first day. We know how big a decision it can be to move into a care home, so it's wonderful to hear...
Without exception all the staff are absolutely excellent, caring and helpful. One of the very few negative features is that, on arrival, I wasn't given a very comprehensive account of all the various facilities that were available. Trivial things like, what is the function of the pushbutton buzzer in my room, how do I get myself a haircut or a bath, how to achieve a regular supply of large towels for after a shower. Trivial but annoying. Having no interest in pop so-called music, I detest the Wednesday afternoon's performances played at earsplitting volume by persons of no talent whatever just outside my room. Ah well, live and let live I suppose!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We're thrilled to hear that you find our staff to be excellent, caring, and helpful. We appreciate your feedback regarding the orientation upon arrival and will work on providing a more comprehensive overview of our facilities, including how to use the...
My friend continually boasts about how good the meals are! Activities in the Home are excellent as well as outings and special events eg Christmas Party, Valentines Ball etc. She loves her weekly visit to the on-site hairdresser and getting a manicure etc....all the things a lady would want!
Accommodation and the grounds are lovely.
If you are looking for 5 star treatment and accommodation I would have no hesitation in recommending Tigh-Na-Muirn.
We are truly grateful for your wonderful review of Tigh-Na-Muirn Care Home. Its so lovely to hear that your friend has felt so well-cared for over the past three years, especially during her health ups and downs. Our team takes great pride in providing exceptional care, and it's reassuring to know...
I have been visiting Tigh-Na-Muirn from 2010-2018 and now from 2023 ongoing. Both on a regular basis. My Aunt was very happy there and lived almost to her 95th Birthday; my friend for a little over a year. Significantly the staff remember my Aunt and very rapidly get to know my friend e.g. when we arrive to visit most can tell us where they are and they know their likes and dislikes.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt review! We're thrilled to hear about your positive experiences at Tigh-Na-Muirn, both during your aunt's stay and now with your friend. It's wonderful to know that our staff remembered your aunt and took time and care to connect with your friend, recognising...
Find the staff super friendly and attentive. Great range of activities, throughout of scope for my father. All beautifully maintained.
Facilities homely, clean and warm. food specially prepared for individual residents and time spent.
