We would like to thank you for taking the time to write a review for Forrester Court and for your positive scores. We are really pleased to hear that you are happy with the cleanliness of your mother’s room and are happy with how well she seems. As we are sure you can appreciate our activities programme was restricted by the pandemic and the necessary IPC protocols, however, we are now able to engage additional lifestyle team support and have included more live entertainment and trips out including visits to theatres and other venues. We hope that this will allow your mother to enjoy a wider range of activities and outings going forward.
Although we’re always grateful for feedback from residents and their loved ones, we were very surprised by your comments and would like to take a moment to address them and hopefully allay your concerns. Your aunt, along with some other residents, was moved temporarily to another suite in the home because of the pandemic to make sure everyone remained as safe and well cared for as possible. This was fully communicated and explained, and the team worked hard to minimise disruption and make sure everyone was happy and settled. Once it was safe to do so, we moved residents back to their usual bedrooms and again did all we could to make this as easy as possible and to make sure all residents were comfortable. All personal items were moved properly and with respect, and no items were missing. The larger item, the television, and pictures that were up on walls, were moved a few days later because our maintenance person was off ill and we needed them to make sure it was done properly by them. Your aunt was aware of this and very understanding, and was happy with the situation as a whole.
Thank you for your review – we are very happy to see the comments and good and excellent scores, particularly for the team at Forrester Court. In regards to activities, we run a varied programme with different activities every day, planned with the help and feedback of residents. This includes external entertainers, animals and community activities, as well as sessions run by the lifestyle team at the home, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy each day. However, if there is a particular activity you would like to see at the home, of course, let us know and we’ll do our best to plan it into the weekly schedule. Many thanks again, and let us know if you have any further comments or questions.

As home manager, my role is to ensure the health, wellbeing and safety of everyone here at Forrester Court. For residents, this means enabling them to express their wishes and choices that lead to fulfilling lives. For colleagues, it also means providing a positive and supportive working environment where they feel appreciated and empowered to do their best work.
I have a nursing degree and feel proud of my professional growth. It’s one of the reasons why I joined Care UK, as it is an organisation that provides opportunities for development and appreciates the real value of care. I am also immensely thankful for having supportive managers who have helped me reach this point.
As with all caring roles, you need to be trustworthy, honest and reliable. It also helps to have the courage to be innovative and be open minded to change. We are in a privileged position where we can positively impact people’s health and wellbeing, and I feel proud that families trust us to care for their loved ones.
In my spare time I’m a keen traveller.
