of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.
Nursing fees include the Funded Nursing Contribution (FNC) if you are eligible. There are no additional fees

Care provided at Forrester Court is extremely good. The staff have the knowledge and skills to work in a professional and dignified way. I take my wife out on Monday and Thursday mornings, the staff always make sure my wife has her breakfast and is dressed very nicely for a day out. They are always
willing to assist with any request. The management is very approachable, ready to listen and helpful.

My mother-in-law was transferred from a hospice to Forrester Court on 4th July for palliative care. Unfortunately, she only lasted 12 days before sadly passing away on Saturday morning. However, in that short time, I can honestly say that she was treated with the utmost love, care and dignity by all
the staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they appear to be doing this extremely important and very difficult job because they love it, not because they have to. This came through to me at every dealing with every single member of staff, from management through to admin staff, nurses, carers, technical people, gardeners, handymen. Everyone has this amazing, compassionate ethic and I can not thank them enough for their kindness. In addition, they show the same level of understanding to visiting friends and relatives, always friendly, always checking to see if anyone needs anything. This should be an example to other care facilities of the calibre of staff they should employ.

Daily visits. All appears to be working well. Room looks clean and tidy. Mum seems well considering her age. She sometimes complains of being bored.

My husband suffering dementia. He has been in Forrester Court care home for three years. He has been looked after by very friendly and caring staff. My husband has got care he needs and I felt he is safe. The room is quite good size and the food are up to the standard. Management staffs are approachable
and always smile on their faces. Furthermore, they always contact me when necessary.

My aunt was returned to her normal room four days ago, after being in a temporary room during lockdown. I visited today to discover that the room has not been completed. Her privately-owned TV and remote were missing and couldn't be located! One of her personal pillows is also missing, as are some of
her toiletries. 2 out of 3 drawers in the chest of drawers were broken and unusable, so some of her clothes and possessions were stuffed into carrier bags and left at the bottom of her wardrobe. Some of her pictures, including one which was screwed to the wall, were left in her previous room. The bathroom ceiling light not working. No one is owning the problem. More management focus is urgently needed.

Although we’re always grateful for feedback from residents and their loved ones, we were very surprised by your comments and would like to take a moment to address them and hopefully allay your concerns. Your aunt, along with some other residents, was moved temporarily to another suite in the home because of the pandemic to make sure everyone remained as safe and well cared for as possible. This was fully communicated and explained, and the team worked hard to minimise disruption and make sure everyone was happy and settled. Once it was safe to do so, we moved residents back to their usual bedrooms and again did all we could to make this as easy as possible and to make sure all residents were comfortable. All personal items were moved properly and with respect, and no items were missing. The larger item, the television, and pictures that were up on walls, were moved a few days later because our maintenance person was off ill and we needed them to make sure it was done properly by them. Your aunt was aware of this and very understanding, and was happy with the situation as a whole.

Although my sister was hospitalised five times during the lockdown and has deteriorated due to her complex needs, Dementia, I felt she was safe and well cared for. This made my not seeing her in year, just bearable. Sending food and treats constantly, and staff calling with any sign of even a temperature.
I'm so very grateful to the wonderful staff. Thank you.

My uncle spent the last 2 weeks of his life in the palliative ward at Forrester Court. During this time he was treated with care and understanding by the full team - including the clinical lead, the nurses and all the carers. At all times the staff were fully open with me, answering all my questions
and calling me whenever my uncle wanted to speak to me. The staff worked in partnership with the GP and with the MacMillan nurses to ensure my uncle was as comfortable as possible. I cannot fault the level of care my uncle received during these 2 difficult weeks and would particularly like to thank the clinical lead for all her support.

I am writing to say just what an excellent facility Forrester Court is. In my opinion, the standard of care is beyond first class. Hard-working patient-focused staff at all levels are brilliant. This comes from the top. The manager is wonderful.

In general, the level of care was good. The majority of the carers in the palliative unit of St James were kind and patient with only one or two appearing to be overly impatient with those suffering from dementia and calling out.
The nurse was extremely caring, approachable and attentive. I'm not sure
I was happy with the giving of certain medication at times it seemed that the medication had adverse side effects and were unnecessary at that stage of palliative care. I had to discuss this often with the doctor.

They are trying the best to fulfil my mother's needs as she doesn't speak English. My mother has been here for 1 year and has settled well considering the language barrier. They have moved staff around so there is Spanish speaking staff in the unit where my mother is.

Forrester COurt has been a great assistance to myself by the way they have looked after my sister.
Their care and consideration have been above the normal standard of a nursing home and it has been a great pleasure to have my sister cared for so well especially as I live 150 miles away.

Mum was a resident of Victoria Unit from November 2013 to February 2018. She was extremely well looked after during that period. Though she suffered from dementia she did not suffer. The staff have been so loving and caring. I spent hours with her at times and never once heard a cross voice from any
staff member. Residents are very well looked after from every point of view, well fed, clean and music often playing. Plus television in every room.

Initially, I was worried about my husband going to a care home, having read about abuse going on in various homes. I have absolutely no worry and cannot praise this home too much. The rooms are kept clean and the staff are so friendly and professional. I visit my husband twice a week and he is always
very clean, including his clothes. The food is always varied and there is no problem. I cannot praise this care home too much.

My mum, sister and I chose Forrester Court for respite care after very carefully considering several other homes.
Forrester - Regent Ward - has wonderful staff including the managers and carers and housekeeping.
They all take extra care to ensure the people in their care are looked after sensitively,
with dignity and love.
However busy they may be, the staff always try to ensure the guests are their first priority.

My father went into the nursing home for respite on 16/6/16 to give me, his daughter, a break after caring for him at home for many years. He was admitted permanently on the 5/10/16. My views on the home are that the staff are always friendly, helpful, kind and cheerful. They treat the residents with
respect. I would love to be admitted if I was unable to care for myself. The home is clean, the food/drink is delicious, my father has a lovely room and is happy and content. There are many facilities to make your stay a comfortable one. Well done Forrester Court Nursing Home for providing an excellent service, never leave. Please please make sure the home is always funded.

The Richmond wing staff have always been warm, friendly, attentive and sensitive when needed. They have always kept me informed of any change in a situation regarding my mother. Though I love feeding and talking to my mother as often as possible, recently it has been very difficult to get here as often
as I would like but the staff always make me feel welcome and give me a sense of comfort that she is being looked after by a group of professionals who care. Next best thing to family.

Job Title: Home Manager

As home manager, my role is to ensure the health, wellbeing and safety of everyone here at Forrester Court. For residents, this means enabling them to express their wishes and choices that lead to fulfilling lives. For colleagues, it also means providing a positive and supportive working environment where they feel appreciated and empowered to do their best work.


I have a nursing degree and feel proud of my professional growth. It’s one of the reasons why I joined Care UK, as it is an organisation that provides opportunities for development and appreciates the real value of care. I am also immensely thankful for having supportive managers who have helped me reach this point.


As with all caring roles, you need to be trustworthy, honest and reliable. It also helps to have the courage to be innovative and be open minded to change. We are in a privileged position where we can positively impact people’s health and wellbeing, and I feel proud that families trust us to care for their loved ones.


In my spare time I’m a keen traveller.
