Hadley Lawns Care Home

This is the second time my Mum has been at Hadley Lawns Care Home. Management and staff are very approachable and have created a wonderful, caring and friendly atmosphere. My Mum is on the Nursing Floor because of her needs and she always looks cared for and has settled well. She seems happy when we visit and as a family we are reassured that she is safe and her needs are being met. Staff on the floor are happy to help with any questions and are friendly and professional. My only criticism is that the laundry system is quite lacking and could definitely be improved. We requested Hadley Lawns after my Mum had another fall because they are a genuine caring home and I would have no hesitation recommending this home.

The staff are very caring and supportive. My frail mother recently wanted to attend her sister's funeral, and all arrangements were sorted by them, re wheelchair, taxi and staff support at the service. A huge relief for me. The carer who attended was wonderful in every way. The current manager is attentive and kind, and very easy to talk to. She takes her responsibility very seriously.

My mum has been a resident for two years now. The home is clean, friendly and welcoming, and she feels safe and happy there, which in turn gives me confidence and peace of mind that she is well looked after.

I had come for a week respite after a knee replacement operation at the hospital. Over the week my strength improved and due to the care of the staff with medication and advice, I continue to feel stronger. Care and support were excellent. My only criticism is that staff were slow to respond to requests. Sometimes breakfast, bathing etc was very late in the morning but it is a care home, maybe everything is slow!

Everyone at Hadley Lawns is caring and dedicated. They work tirelessly to ensure the best standard of care at all times, and to make life for all residents as pleasurable as possible. There is a genuinely friendly and welcoming atmosphere at Hadley Lawns, which I believed would be hard to find elsewhere. I am extremely thankful for the way the Hadley Lawns team looks after my relative.

My mother likes living at Hadley Lawns ( three years plus). She is very comfortable and kept very well. She enjoys the activities especially flower arranging. The staff are very caring and she gets on well with them.

It's great being able to visit Mum now and feel safe for her. It's been so long since I last saw her, March 7th. I hope everything stays like this from now on until the virus has gone completely and we can go back to normal life again.

Hadley Lawns warmly welcomed my mum into the home on the 5th of January 2020. I'm very happy and feel relaxed my mum is there now. I always cared for my mum, who is now 90! I visited my mum every day until covid19, every time I went, I could see my mum happy and improving, gaining weight and Mum said sleeping well. Always plenty to eat, nicely set up in the dining room, lovely lounge and beautiful gardens. Perfect for my mum.

My husband is receiving end of life care at Hadley Lawns. I have found the home to be very clean and welcoming. My husband is very clean and well cared for. In spite of the virus, I am being allowed to see my husband daily due to his near-death state. I have found the managers and staff so friendly and supportive. They have given me confidence that my husband is in safe hands, and are highly supportive of me. They make a point of remembering me and using my name. I could not ask more from the care in this nursing home, at this very difficult time for both me and in relation to the virus. I can't comment on facilities as it has not applied to us.

My husband is well cared for and I am pleased with his care.

This was an outdoor visit. Well organised and the staff very helpful. The only issue was the large screen that made it difficult for my mother to hear but that is only a minor issue.

I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff at Hadley Lawns. They are providing my mum with the utmost dedication, care and dignity I could ever ask for. The carers go the ‘extra mile’ with my mum making her feel safe and secure. And one lady is just amazing, no other word to describe her. Nothing is ever too much trouble (and I know I can be quite demanding at times!). The management and staff have managed to keep Hadley Lawns COVID free during this difficult time, which proves their commitment to the residents. My sincere thanks to all at Hadley Lawns.

Excellent and caring service. All of my father's needs were met. Friendly staff and approachable. All communications were excellent. Nothing was too much.

The care provided to my brother was excellent. The staff are very friendly and attentive and available to assist or inform whenever required. I applaud the competence and ability to ensure that the home stayed free of the COVID virus. That shows dedication to the health and welfare not only of the residents but also the staff and their relatives, family or friends and the community at large. My brother was provided with excellent care at all times to the end of his life.

When I first came I was very shaken and needed a stress free place to recover. The staff have all been very supportive and caring giving me time to settle and start on the path to recovery. This is a lovely place to wake up to and staff have been kind and friendly and I could choose to join in or keep to myself if I wished. Many thanks to you all.

My mother has been at Hadley Lawns for nearly two years now and during this time, she has been cared for very well and is always happy when we visit her. The staff are friendly, and where there have been a few changes in management, the home has still operated well, but at times, there appears to be a shortage of staff. Rooms need to be updated, but are kept clean.

I highly recommend Hadley Lawns. The staff and management are wonderful with my mum. They are all caring and kind with mum.

My friend was very well cared for during her stay, and said on many occasions she 'felt safe'. She particularly bonded with one of the carers who showed her tremendous kindness, compassion and treated her with dignity. The manager was also extremely caring and helpful. Thank you, everyone, for your care and kindness.

My wife was fast-tracked through the Hertfordshire Valley's Clinical Commissioning Group for end of life nursing care at Hadley Lawns. I have nothing but the highest praise for all aspects of the care given to her and the consideration given to me by all of the home's staff from the time she arrived (February 2020) until her death (May 2020). Such a good choice of nursing home.
