My step-father has been at Harts House for 3-years. I know that he is very happy there. He is very well looked after. If he has any problems, they do their very best to help him, and he trusts them to do so. I also trust the staff to look after him, and that has enabled me to live abroad for the last 2-years popping back every so often to see him. He is always smart and very well kept, which is important to him. Much to our dismay, we thought we might have to move him to another home, but the staff moved heaven and earth to keep him there which I will be eternally grateful for. Whenever I visit, the staff always have a smile and stop to chat about my step-father and how he is. We can’t ask for anything more!
We really appreciate you taking the time to leave us such lovely comments. Thank you for your feedback.
My Mother has been in care at Harts House since 2018, and she reached the grand age *** off in April. Due to lockdown, we had to cancel her party, but we’re not disappointed as the staff made the day very special. Decorated her room and made her the most beautiful cake. She had a wonderful time. Harts House is a very happy home, and all the staff are wonderful and very caring. They are attentive at all times, and I know she has formed a special bond with all the carers, nurses, administration and activity staff. The family and I would like to thank everyone at Harts House for working so hard in keeping the home completely COVID free and especially giving Mum a very happy life in her doting years.
We really appreciate you taking the time to leave us such lovely comments.
My mother has been a resident since 2016 due to advanced Alzheimers. We, as a family, are so happy that Mum receives excellent care and attention from all the staff. She particularly enjoys the daily activities. Mum is a fussy eater, but they go out of their way to find something she likes. The management is visible and approachable and holds regular meetings with residents and relatives although not at the moment. Harts House acted quickly and efficiently during the pandemic, and the staff are working flat out to keep it clear, which we all appreciate very much. A big thank you to you all.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We really appreciate the praise.
Again, thank you all so much. You made a sad time as bearable as it could be and we will never forget that.
We are very saddened about your loss. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you or your family.
My critical points relate to things like the whiteboard giving the name of the nurse in charge and carers for the day not kept up to date; some laxity in the timing of giving medication; and each day although the food was good, there was much wastage as portions were huge!
Thank you for your feedback. We will discuss your feedback with the home’s manager to help us continually improve our service.
The is a warm and friendly attitude extended to family members and requests or issues raised are dealt with professionally.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review.
I found the care of an excellent standard, the whole building of high excellence.
While I was in residence, the entertainment facilities were suspended due to a virus but the few I experienced were set at just the right level for the residents.
Thank you for your feedback. We are disappointed you did not get to experience our activities to the full capacity, however, we do appreciate you trusting us with your care and hope you made a full recovery.
Warm and safe environment. Good facilities for those fit enough to use them.
Negatives:Management - poor advice, nothing followed up (needs continuous prompting eg finance, care).
Care/support - patient often unkempt, poor care of finger/toe nails, poor hygiene at times.
Communication - no joined-up approach between hospital/GP/patient and nursing staff (patient 'falls down the middle').
Food - significant weight loss over the past 6 months by the patient. This should have been noted by the care staff that the patient's food was often not eaten.
Correspondence - sometimes gets misplaced.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are concerned to hear this. Could you please contact our Feedback Team by emailing feedback@bupa.com or calling 0113 381 6293 so we could discuss this further?
The level of care is very good and we can relax knowing she is safe and looked after.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are delighted to hear your sister is enjoying her time with us and that you can feel at ease with her in our care. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you or your sister.
Excellent loving staff. Staff unstinting with the time they give patients. Not impressed with G.P. but since then my sister has seen other G.P's who seem more aware of her cancer problems.
Thank you for your review. Your comments are extremely important to us and our residents’ health and wellbeing is our absolute priority. We will discuss your feedback with the home’s manager to help them continually improve their service.
My auntie stayed at The Grange on respite. I found the home very friendly and the staff were very approachable, any concerns were answered efficiently. I felt I had made the right decision for my auntie as soon as I entered the home, it just felt the right place for her. The manager was very involved with the residents. The activities in The Grange are excellent and there is something going on every day for everyone to join in a good range of activities.

This facility ticks all the boxes as far as my father is concerned. Both he and my family have been treated with care and compassion especially by the management team who are first class. My Dad has been here only 2 weeks yet we already feel part of the very special family. Thank you to all staff at Harts House.

Mum thinks that overall her experience is very good. She sometimes finds the food, not to her liking. She likes the way that the staff banter with her, and allow her privacy.

Having looked at numerous care homes for my then 90-year-old mother in 2013, we found Harts House Care Home. The setting, gardens and welcoming attitude in addition to caring staff, mostly excellent meals and organised care plans for each resident resulted in our choice, one which we have not regretted. My mother is well cared for, warm, comfortable and happy as she can be in her "home from home". Her only sadness is that everything that she and my Dad worked for will be spent on her fees, sadly nothing can alter that. Thriftiness doesn't always pay!
