The Review Score of 6.6 (maximum of 10) for Jansondean Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.
a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 3 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Jansondean Nursing Home in Google's Search Results - more info
b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 2.0 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 2 years. (A 2 year period has been used as there were no positive reviews in the last 12 months)
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:
4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.
1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.
If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.
The 2.018 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Jansondean Nursing Home is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows:
3 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 3.5 then divided by 2 = 1.750

Review submitted from a Website Submission by Vivian B (Daughter of Resident) on Thursday 13 April 2017. Relates to December 2016.
My mother was a resident, albeit, for only 6 days and then sadly she passed away. I can honestly say that the care she received from the staff was excellent. They went above and beyond to care for her. Her clothes were freshly laundered and all were marked with her name within hours of her arriving. Mum had been having trouble eating and drinking and I arrived several times at different times and found the staff with her so kind, caring and encouraging. Mum had a lovely view of the garden and the staff were more than happy to allow her bed to be moved so she could fully appreciate it.
The home felt like home for her, it didn't feel clinical or had any funny smells to it.
The manager is a lovely man and all the family were treated with such kindness and compassion. I really couldn't have asked for better care.
It is a real pleasure to give such a positive review in light of all the really awful ones in the news lately.
I would highly recommend this establishment.

Review submitted from a Postal Card by Elsbeth H (Wife of Resident) on Tuesday 7 March 2017. Relates to February 2017.
Special care and good support are given to my husband in his failing condition. He received a room next to the office to be supervised also at night. The staff are very friendly and understanding. I am well satisfied with the help and general working order at the home.

Review submitted from a Website Submission by Samantha S (Friend of Resident) on Monday 25 July 2016. Relates to July 2016.
My friend has been staying here for 10 months, after a disastrous hip operation, resulting in him needing 24 hour care. The staff and management have been fantastic throughout his stay. They are on the ball with any medical issues that arise and deal with them very efficiently. The food is healthy, varied and cooked on site, non of that package rubbish. Birthdays are celebrated and cake shared among residents, you can even have a party!
His room although on the small side is functional and meets his requirements. He is quite happy here and I do wonder if he'll actually want to return home, when everything he needs is right here!
