Overall it has been a positive experience. My brother feels comfortable here. It is nice that the staff are mostly the same so that he is used to them and vice versa. Management were very good to change his room to suit his needs. It is key worker seems to have his best interests at heart and it is
great that she and the other staff are approachable. It is a good friendly vibe in the lounge.

Staff are friendly. They have allowed my grandad to pay and have dinner daily so he spends quality time with my uncle. When we visit weekly all residents that are in the lounge interact with us and its like visiting an extended family. My uncle likes the food aswell.
And we love Daisy the dog that
visits also :)

Kimbolton Lodge it will amaze you, the carers there do not phase you. You're looked after just like a star. The care is perfect, way above par With cleaners who do really clean. The shiniest floors you've ever seen. Helpers who will wash and dress and nothing is of too much stress and as for food what
can one say. I could eat there every day.

The crae and attention at Kimbolton Lodge is exceptional. All of the staff treat my mother-in-law like she is a member of their own families. They are all so attentive to her needs. She is always very happy with the meals, especially the puddings, as she has a sweet tooth. My mother-in-law says, in
her own words, that it is 'wonderful' and she is very 'happy' - you cannot get better feedback than that.

Kimbolton Lodge is so amazingly friendly. It is like one big family in a very caring home. The staff are amazing - so friendly, full of sun and laughter - always caring and always smiling. Love it here - so relaxed and friendly. Everyone is so happy. The carers always make people laugh and do everything
they can to make people know that it is a home away from home and it really is because they always go the extra mile.

The level of care for my wife, who has complex medical issues, is outstanding. The staff always treat her with such kindness and compassion. I cannot fault their enduring patience and their expertise. As a family, we always feel so welcome and are informed immediately when my wife required additional
medical help. We are forever grateful to Kimbolton Lodge.

My mum has been a resident of Kimbolton Lodge for the last 10 years and both Mum and I feel that they are part of our family. They look after her with love and care, they show a great understanding of her needs and will always treat her with respect and dignity. They also have a wonderful sense of humour
and have kept her spirits up during every difficult year.

My aunt moved here for palliative care during lockdown 3. My cousin and I were treated so welcome when we visited our aunt. We found her in a comfortable, well-equipped room and she had people popping in regularly to check on her. We were allowed to stay as long as we liked and were reassured our aunt
was being left in capable, competent and caring hands. Thank you.

Current Review Score: 7.9 (7.853)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.9 (7.853) out of 10 for Kimbolton Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.4 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.458 for Kimbolton Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (11 Excellents x 5) + (13 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.458
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.395 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kimbolton Lodge is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 37 registered maximum number of service users is 7.4. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.4 = 0.27
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
