Everyone is so supportive and compassionate to dad and all the other residents and for us the rest of the family , he gives us a lot of comfort that he is shown the dignity and personal interaction he deserves

The staff here at the home, especially the nurses have been able to improve my mums conditions over time. They support her needs with great detail and management.
The carers are all very friendly and helpful and the Manager Anil, is happy to support with any concerns or questions you may have.
I would recommend this care home and caring service for yourself of a loved one. They all take great pride in every aspect of their role.
My mum has now moved to a home closer to family, but the care and support here has been incredibly grateful.

I am sorry I have not written sooner, I would like to thank the management and staff for the kindness, care and compassion the showed to my cousins husband Colin. The care and compassion was tremendious. I cannot thank you enough and the dignity and care you showed to him on making his passing so peaceful
Regards
Elaine
Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a kind message. Your words truly mean a lot to the whole team here at Orchard Lodge.
It was a privilege for us to care for Colin, and we are grateful that you felt the kindness, compassion and dignity shown by our staff during his...
Amazing! Our Dad moved another home and in 2 weeks he has been taken off all unnecessary medication which they think contributed to headaches and aggression and it has helped him so much. Anil (Manager) and Sara are fantastic could not ask for better management and all carers actually care- We cannot fault anything so far. Don't be fooled by the old building as it's just a building- it's the staff that make the difference. Thank you all at Orchard Lodge for putting time and effort into our Dad. You are angels!
Thank you so much for your incredibly kind words. Reading your review truly means a great deal to me & to the whole team here at Orchard Lodge.
I'm so pleased that your dad's settled in well & that the medication review has made such a positive difference to his wellbeing. We strongly...
My Dad was at Orchard Lodge between March-April 25 for end of life care, when he passed away. We had been through multiple care settings with Dad since his stroke in Sept 2024 and had a series of poor experiences, so we were naturally nervous about this move. However, we were immediately made to feel welcome and listened to. The staff take time to hear your thoughts, requests and worries and to reassure both family members and residents. Dad was given outstanding care and respect throughout his time at OL; he was always clean, well fed and spoken to with respect and kindness. He was encouraged to get up everyday even for a short amount of time, to eat with others in the dining room or sit in the lounge or spend time outside in the gardens. On the day of his death, the staff cared for Dad and his whole family, helping us through this terribly hard event in all our lives. We cannot thank Orchard Lodge enough for all their kindness and empathy during this time.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. On behalf of the entire team at Orchard Lodge, I want to extend our deepest condolences to you and your family on the passing of your dad.It was a privilege to care for him during his final weeks, and we're truly grateful that you felt...
My dad was at orchard lodge for palliative care from February 2023-December 2023 when he passed away. I realised recently that I would like to leave a review. Being a student I have worked across a few care homes and hospices, and the care my dad was given outshone them all. Orchard lodge is a really special place, my dad was always clean and settled, they did everything they could to help him and that is so special to me. They always catered to his food needs and whenever he was with the staff he was smiling. At the end of his life he even smiled, which is so rare, and I attribute it to the amazing care he received. When I went to see him after he passed he was immaculately clean and peaceful, and the delicacy he had been given in those moments was amazing. My dad was young, and the emotional support and empathy I felt from the staff was amazing. From someone who has seen a lot of care homes, if you are considering orchard lodge, please choose this location. They are amazing.
Hope you continue to progress well in your nursing studies. Thank you very much for having taken your valuable time to put pen to paper to express your opinion about the experience you had in the provision of care and service by our Home to your late dad. It was a pleasure for our team to care for...
2 staff members in particular were superb in every way.
Anyone in the situation that we were in I would absolutely recommend this care home.
Thank you for taking the time to share such kind words. We truly appreciate your recommendation and are delighted to hear that our staff provided such excellent care for your mum. I will be sure to pass on your praise to the team, especially the two staff members who made a difference. Your feedback means a lot to us!
We were apprehensive about it all but the manager came out to visit my dad at home and put myself and my mum at ease.
The manager, another member of staff and the whole team were amazing with my dad, the staff use to tell us that my dad was such a lovely man. While he was in there, my dad's health really improved for a while and it was so lovely to see walking around using his frame which he had never been able to do at home. They really took such great care of my dad.
The staff were so good with my dad and they always took time out to speak to ourselves about dad.
My dad sadly passed away in December 2024, the staff were so supportive of myself and my mum at this difficult time.
We will never forget the amazing care you gave to my dad during his time with you, the manager and the team, thank you for looking after my dad with such care and dignity.
As a family, it is never an easy decision to agree that a loved one needs 24/7 care, from day one our Dad was loved and cared for by the manager and his amazing team. Nothing was ever too much trouble from Dad's choice of food to assisting him with his personal care, the team preserved Dad's dignity at all times and treated him with the utmost respect.
Our Dad closed his eyes for the last time on 13.10.24 and his amazing care continued until his peaceful death, we can never thank the manager and his team enough for their unconditional love and care during Dad's final months, we will never forget you and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Thank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt and touching review. It was truly an honour for our team to care for your father during his time with us. We are deeply sorry for your loss and extend our sincere condolences to you and your family. Your father was a remarkable person, and we feel...
Excellent standard of care, very proactive and informative. There rare is the reason we had my dad for an extra two and a half years. Care of skin was exemplary. Everyone was so kind to dad and us.
Thank you for taking the time to share such kind words during what must be a very difficult time. We are truly sorry for your loss and extend our deepest condolences to you and your family. It means a great deal to hear that our care made a difference for your dad and brought comfort to your...
My father moved into Orchard Lodge in June 2023 after a period of slowly deteriorating ill health. He recently died there. From the start, the manager was so caring and kind. He was the only staff member out of all the care homes I visited that took the time to explain the home's philosophy and how they would care for my dad. My sisters and I all lived abroad and so it was really hard for us to be so far away. Towards the end, every time I called, the manager always had time to answer my questions and give updates. Those who visited always commented on the care and compassion that the staff showed towards my father. I was very grateful for all that they did. Its an incredibly hard environment to work in and yet the staff really do care. I think that this starts with the manager and his values and then this transmit down to the whole team.
Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and heartfelt review of your experience at Orchard Lodge. Please accept our deepest condolences on the loss of your father. Our thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. We are truly humbled by your kind words about...
I cannot praise this home enough, my dad was there for three months of palliative care. He was treated with care and dignity at all times. The manager and two sisters were fantastic. I cannot thank them all enough.
Thank you John for taking time to express your appreciation for the support we provided to your dad during his stay with us. Your dad was a real gentleman and I am glad we crossed paths, I am particularly pleased that my team was able to provide him with all the support he needed and kept him...
The care I received during my three-and-a-half-week stay at Orchard Lodge was excellent. I was at the care home having fractured my shoulder and was unable to cope with my complex medical issues without assistance. Every member of staff was committed to providing the very best of care and determined to ensure that every need was met, both physically and emotionally, in a timely manner. They were so welcoming and willing to accommodate all of my requirements, and those of my visitors. They were keen to show respect to all of us, and dealt with my type 1 diabetes diet, changing the timings of the meals for me and adapting the content where necessary. My stay was designed for me to develop my independence, which they achieved whilst also being aware of my safety. The setting of the home is in a lovely village location; the gardens are beautiful and wildlife is encouraged. On days when the weather allowed I was able sit with my visitors and enjoy these surroundings. Thank you!
My father was discharged to Orchard Lodge from hospital. He was at end of life and sadly my mother was no longer able to care for him due to his significant health needs. From the moment we met with the manager we were put at ease. We asked what the rules were in terms of visits. His answer was that this was now my father's home and that we should treat it as such respecting my own father's wishes and feelings. It didn't matter what time we visited, we were welcomed and looked after by the staff. My father was treated with dignity which was so important to him. Although ideally he would have wanted to be home, he did not ever complain about how he was treated and trust me given he had full capacity he could easily have done so. I remember my father's 93rd birthday which was made so special and memorable by the staff. My father passed away on 03-05-2024 and we are welcome to visit the home anytime we wish which is a real comfort to my mum and me. Thank you to the manager and staff.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review our services and specially the care we provided to your beloved dad. We knew him only for a short while, he was a really wonderful man and a pleasure for us all at Orchard Lodge to care for him right from his arrival to the time he departed this...
While the carers are very caring the nursing home management and company that owns it are dreadful. They have owed my family over £800 since my mum died in October and even though I have called and emailed numerous times, they have ignored me and refuse to refund the money. Don’t use this nursing home if you are paying for care.
Dear Imelda, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry that you were delayed in receiving your refund and you've had difficulty resolving it. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience or frustration you may have experienced. As you are aware, you were refunded any...
Absolutely fantastic nursing home from the care staff nurses and manager the attention she receives whenever she needs it, my mum is there now she has been there for just over two weeks and has round-the-clock care for all her needs, the food is good and Mum can have whatever she fancies to eat which is great as she hasn't got a good appetite, they make whatever she wants also if she presses her buzzers someone is there in seconds, would highly recommend Orchard Lodge Care Home.
Thank you very much for taking your valuable time to review us and the wonderful comments you made for care and service we are providing to Mum who I must say has surprised us and you I suppose. I will pass on your comments to our team who will be delighted; these type of positive comments provide...
My father became a resident in August 2021 with Parkinsonian Alzheimer's yet from day one, it became apparent that he was in extremely caring hands.
Sadly, my father has since passed away recently but right up until the very end, all his needs were met and indeed exceeded. Caring, bright and happy staff, engaging with my father, wholesome, nourishing food and clean and tidy room and excellent facilities, all set in a beautiful countryside setting in the quiet village of Tilsworth.
Living in Bournemouth, it was always a long drive for me but the peace of mind provided by management and the team went a long way to reassure me that despite being quite far, I never had to worry for his care.
"Thank you" doesn't do justice for the level of care and peace of mind that Orchard Lodge provided.
We are so very grateful for all they have done.
Thank you for these wonderful comments, Rob. I will share these with our team. These positive comments do a world of good to the morale of our team and encourage us in our endeavour to continually improve our care and services to our residents. It was a pleasure to care for Dad, he had a wonderful...
The manager was extremely approachable and always on hand to offer advice and support when needed.
All the staff went above and beyond to keep Mum comfortable. Always making sure she had her favourite CDs playing throughout the day and that she had everything that she needed.
Visiting was straightforward, and the staff on shift were always welcoming and warm.
We could not have hoped for a better nursing home for my mum.
A big thank you to the manager and all the team.
I am delighted to receive your review of our home and am especially pleased to receive your kind and complimentary words about the care we provided to your late mother. I have shared your kind words with all my staff, the real dedicated team that does all the good work; they were thrilled with the...
I have been visiting now since December 2022. Each time I visit, I am blown away, not just by the professionalism of the staff, but by their genuinely kind and caring approach to the residents. It has a lovely atmosphere, is exceptionally clean and well staffed. There is always a staff member present on observation in each of the areas, and it feels like a home from home. I think my uncle is very lucky to have found such an outstanding placement - I speak from experience, having worked for 37 years as an RMN specialising in elderly care. There always have access to food and regular drinks, and there is plenty of activities available to engage the residents. They are very well looked after, and the attention to detail in making sure they are properly cared for, cleaned and presentable. The staff are very approachable and friendly and welcome family with open arms. I'd like to book my own place now!
The staff were brilliant and looked after my wife as good as possible. They also treated us the same and with respect for the situation we were going through.
