I can't thank the staff of this care home enough. They are all very kind, and looked after my husband so well and are all very good at their job. Nothing is too much trouble. The best care home ever. Thank you, all of you.

I had reason to become very familiar with Orchard Lodge as a close friend (I am her Next of Kin) was a resident for six and a half weeks. I visited every day during this period and feel able to give an accurate and honest review.
If you are looking for a home from home then, in my opinion, Orchard
Lodge is fantastic.
Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. Everyone single one of them is conscientious, patient and good humoured.
The food is good and specific diets are catered for.
Very importantly, the staff keep all the residents scrupulously clean. I never once detected an unpleasant odour and not because they use artificial devices, its simply because all the residents are kept hygienically clean, as are their clothes and bedding.
There are organised activities for those residents wishing to take part. Everything is done to help residents feel welcomed, at home and valued.
To summarise, I would be happy to be a resident myself.

My father went to Orchard Lodge for end of life care. Whilst he was only there for a couple of weeks before passing, I cannot fault the caring attitude of all the staff there. He was so much happier than when he was in hospital. Yes the place is a little tired looking but the nursing care was excellent.

We had concerns as to where our relative may end up for respite care, but our fears were soon overcome after just a few days at Orchard Lodge. Yes, the building and decor are showing signs of wear, but the staff care, warmth and friendliness is very good. The management team are professional, caring
and good at communicating. Mother-in-law is happy and well looked after. A lovely homely feeling.

Warm, welcome, clean and comfortable. Mum is very happy here, always commenting on how lovely the staff are. Food is very tasty according to my mum. All contact with the manager is informative, and he has been supportive. He has kept us up to date with progress on my mum.

Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Orchard Lodge care home has managed to keep the virus at bay and, most importantly, kept my mum safe and comfortable. The staff have endeavoured to enable access as much as possible under these conflicting circumstances and have been as flexible as possible, subject to
the safety of those in their care. Staff are always courteous, helpful and friendly. Mum is clearly comfortable, content, well cared for in a loving environment.

My mother has been a resident of Orchard Lodge care home since December 2018. I live in the USA (California) and so I am restricted to visiting Mum just one or two times each year. Orchard Lodge always welcomes me and accommodates me allowing me multiple visiting opportunities each time I visit England.
Even with restrictions due to Covid and testing, I was accommodated, even allowing me to visit my Mum on her birthday. I believe the care provided by the staff of Orchard Lodge is the best care available anywhere.

My father has been very well looked after here. The staff know him very well and have taken the time to get to know his interests and likes. They recognise his quirks and tailor their care to this. They have encouraged him to go down to residential areas where possible and enjoy the activities they
offer. They also respect his decision not to do this on occasion. Their introduction of memory boxes was a wonderful gesture which meant that they really understood my Dad as a person before he became so poorly. I receive regular communication from the management, with photos of my Father enjoying activities which are very reassuring for me to see. Thank you all for all you do.

Within days of mum entering the home, it was obvious we had made a good choice. We very soon had complete confidence in the staff and could relax in the knowledge she was receiving first-class care.
