Around mid-February'25, whilst at Hospital, my mother had been diagnosed with terminal liver cancer with only a matter of days left for her.
We contacted Fidelma and David at St David's who made immediate arrangements to prepare a lovely room for her.
From the near neglect at the hospital to being
received at St David's where she was washed and dressed comfortably for bed and with hourly checks, we couldn't have asked for more.
Not only were my mother's needs seen to, but ours (my sister) where as well.
Fidelma and her team were so understanding of our feelings and emotions at that time and made, what was a terrible experience, less so.
Our mothers last week was in a wonderful and caring environment and my sister and I cannot thank Fidelma, David and the staff enough.
Currently my father in law David is a resident at St David's and is being beautifully cared for to.

The team St David's have looked after mum exceptionally well with great care, sensitivity and compassion. Not any easy job with mum's advanced dementia. Mum has spent over 2.5 years between St. David's and St Christopher's (sister building at the same site). Having both the residential facilities of
St C's and nursing facilities of St D's made mum's transition between one to other seemless earlier this year when her dementia deteriorated. She settled very easily within just a few days thanks to the effortless support of the team and seeing familiar friendly faces of some staff who rotate between the two buildings. This year truly confirmed we made the right decision nearly 3 years ago in choosing this care home for mum. I would highly recommend St David's and St Christopher's to anyone who's family member or friends need this care.

My father has been a resident at St David's for 2 years and we can't fault it! The care he receives is truly amazing. St David's is managed by David and Fidelma and they do an incredible job! There is a very personal feel about St David's and the residents are all looked after beautifully. You are always
made to feel welcome and the staff are very friendly. They are very thoughtful and think about the needs of each resident. There is a lovely family feel to St David's. They are incredibly accommodating and through challenging and emotional times, the support they show you is truly genuine and heart felt! Thank you!!

My husband has been beautifully looked after at St David's for the last 2 years. His needs have been anticipated very professionally. His care whilst confined to bed with a chest infection was amazing. The staff are all working well together as a team and I feel reassured and welcome every time I visit.
The care home is incredibly well led and managed. The residents look happy and content. You cannot fault the care!

The attention to the care of the residents is exceptional, the staff are also welcoming and caring to the relatives and visitors.
Monthly meetings are organised via a video conference method which allows the relatives are able to ask questions and the information given by Management is also informative.
Peace
of mind is given to relatives ensuring the care and attention plus the love that is given is to their relative by all the staff at St David's.

St David's is wonderful. My godmother has been in a resident for coming up to three years, and without their care and support, we feel sure that she'd have left us long ago. All of the staff without exception are amazing - from nurses to carers to maintenance to cleaners - and go above and beyond in
everything that they do. My godmother loves it there. Fidelma and David treat everyone as if they are family - and that feeling extends to us relatives as well. We've felt supported throughout, and trust St David's to do the right thing implicitly. If you are sadly in need of residential nursing care for a loved one, then we cannot recommend St David's highly enough.

St David's is a wonderful care home! My mother has been there since 2022 and although she has naturally deteriorated the staff are always assessing her needs and adapting the care required to make sure she is happy and comfortable! They are always welcoming and provide occasions and activities that
family can join. They treat all their clients and families with respect and kindness. Amazing place with amazing staff!! Thank you!

My wife has been a resident for over 2 years now. The love and care given to her is exceptional. Every single nurse and carer knows her name as well as mine. The staff say hello to her many times a day getting a smile if she us awake. When she is asleep she is always made very comfortable and safe. Her
food and medicines are given regularly and carefully. If she has a change of medicine or any concern by the staff I am telephoned immediately. The first thing the staff say to me is "There is nothing to worry about" which is kind. Any requirement for a medical visit is also dealt with straight away. I have visited many other care/nursing homes and this one is above them all.

My sister-in-law has been a resident in St David's Nursing Home, Ascot Priory for 11 years and in all that time she has been so well looked after. I cannot fault the care in any way. Cannot find any faults with the staff and facilities in this wonderful care home. All events are so well organised and the rooms always look so beautiful. So much planning must take place to ensure the residents have varied activities and surroundings. My mother's birthday is one example out of so many
where all the staff were involved in ensuring a lovely day.

Our Mum has been at St David's for over 9 months now and from the day she arrived she has been treated as though she is one of the family. The Owners & all of the Staff at St David's are all absolutely wonderful & kind and they all provide top notch care without hesitation. Nothing is ever too
much trouble and we are encouraged to raise any issues or worries to the staff so that the correct outcome can be reached for all. They always have the residents best interests at heart. There have been many events provided for the residents and their families & friends, the summer party & BBQ, the recent carol service, trips to various locations including ascot races. There are always activities or entertainments going on in and around the home. Visiting time is not restricted, family & friends are always welcome to stay and have lunch or dinner with their loved ones - the food is amazing and all of this definitely helps settle the residents. Would I recommend St David's ? ABSOLUTELY !

My Mother has now been in St David's for a period of 7.5 years. St David's is owned and managed privately, and the owners have a very strong ethos of professionalism, care, and support. This is reflected in ensuring through the selection of staff that this ethos is reflected right across the community.
Many staff have said that St David's has come to feel like their family; indeed, my wife and I now very much feel the same.
Great efforts are undertaken to ensure the residents are entertained, and the owners go out of their way to hold community events for the family and friends of the residents.
The building is old and not purpose-built, but well-developed plans are underway to mitigate this through the new building and extending it.
My wife and I have now had three of our four parents in St David's and would happily recommend it to people's loved ones.

My mother has lived at St David's for more than two years. This interesting old building with its beautiful grounds provides a very comfortable and homely environment for the elderly residents. My mother most enjoys socialising with fellow residents and staff in the cheerful lounge and in the dining
room at mealtimes. The atmosphere is very much that of a family with welcoming and caring staff.

I have sat for hours with my wife mainly in her room almost every day in the twenty months she has been in St David's. The staff all know and greet me cheerily by name whenever they see me, and the hospitality offered to me has been a delight. I have also got to know, often by their first names, many
residents and their visitors. I can and do say with complete conviction that the care and personal respect lavished on my wife in all that time has far, far exceeded anything I might have expected. The owners are regularly in St David's, keeping in friendly contact with visiting relatives and friends and organising and participating in frequent on-site festivities and celebrations. The carers and nurses know well all my wife's little foibles, and treat her with never-failing kindness. Nothing phases or is any trouble at all to them. My wife's room is kept spick and span, plants watered, dead flowers quietly removed, and electric blinds kept in perfect order. A better nursing home is not to be found.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.977)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.977) out of 10 for St David's Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.977 for St David's Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (256 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 262 Ratings = 4.977
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St David's Nursing Home is based on 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 39 registered maximum number of service users is 7.8, which has been reached with 22 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
