My father is a resident at Foxleigh Grove Nursing Home.
Where to start?
1. Food- very important. The food is exceptional, it cannot be beaten. I would pay for the quality meals at Foxleigh. Outstanding.
2. Staff: kind, tolerant, patient and caring. My father was nervous about having to come into
full-time care but his experience makes him really happy.
3. Accommodation: he says he couldn’t ask for better, filled with his own furniture and pictures, it really feels like home. The grounds are beautiful and the activities are so varied. He is encouraged but never forced to join in and he loves garden centre coffee trips.
As a daughter, I know all the staff really look after my dad and that is really reassuring.

Our experience of Foxleigh Grove has been one of pleasant surprise. My mother came in last autumn for respite and we have been so comforted by the care she has received that she is now a permanent resident. Foxleigh Grove is a really wonderful find. It is a beautiful family home. All the rooms and gardens
are delightful. All of the staff we have met have been so kind to both my mother and me. I often have questions and I am always given the time and attention to discuss my mother's condition and care - whether this is in person or over the phone. The standard of care here is excellent whether my mother is feeling under the weather and stays resting in her room or is downstairs joining in with activities. The staff all encourage her to be as well as she can and to live life to the full. It’s such a comfort and she feels safe here. I am constantly very relieved that we found this lovely place and thank everyone at Foxleigh for the difference they make to our lives.

As my husband had been diagnosed with vascular dementia and his condition was deteriorating, alongside very long-standing physical health problems leading to very poor mobility I was advised to find a care home for him and Foxleigh Grove was suggested. I visited and chose a room for him for an initial
2-week respite care stay. It was clear he needed to stay permanently and was there for 9 months until his death. I have been delighted with the kindness and care given to him in a place so beautifully furnished and decorated. At all times he received kindness and professional support and, while he was still able, he enjoyed the entertainment provided in the Lounge. I totally recommend Foxleigh Grove to anyone needing the care they provide, and, as a wonderful extra, the excellence of the food provided.

I had to find a nursing home for my mum at very short notice and I can't tell you how relieved I was when I walked into Foxleigh Grove. I instantly felt a lovely homely feeling and once I had a look around and was shown the bedroom on the ground floor where my mum was going to be staying for her short
break of two weeks and met the nursing staff that would be looking after my mum I knew this was the home I wanted my mum to stay at. After visiting and talking with my mum I could see she seemed happy and calm and all the staff were very caring, friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this lovely caring home to friends and acquaintances. Thank you to the manager and the team.

My mum had an amazing three years here. She was well cared for. All staff were very lovely to her and her needs. Can't fault them. Went on some amazing day trips and lots of in-house activities. The food was always really good. Well done Foxleigh Grove. Thank you.

My aunt moved into this nursing home in November 2016 and is well looked after and is very happy there. The facilities are excellent and the food is of good quality. I would recommend the home.

After a recent short-term admission to Foxleigh Grove, I want to compliment the nursing staff, management and setting of this lovely care home. The welcome, assistance, and general desire to fulfill the needs of the patients, mostly elderly and very needy, with kindness, skill and humanity. Reassuring
their anxieties which are natural to their situation.
The food is excellent and well presented and healthy. The staff are kind, polite and cheerful. Well trained and supervised, carefully and supportive.

An absolutely wonderful nursing home! My parents stayed at Foxleigh Grove for two months whilst their home was repaired after a flood. I couldn't fault anything, from the lovely owner to the amazing nursing staff.
All of the staff go above and beyond being just a job, they are so kind, caring and thoughtful,
nothing is too much trouble for them. My dear mum said it was far better than any 4 star hotel she had stayed in! The meals are fantastic, lovely choices and beautifully presented, the rooms are immaculately clean.

A huge and gracious thank you to all the staff at Foxleigh Grove who cared for my mother. Foxleigh Grove staff are led by an amazing team, which means they are all happy in their work and this is passed on to our family members residing here with their care.
The home is evidently family-run, the whole
building calls out that you have come home. The 24-hour nursing staff are a credit to their profession and the carers are outstanding. Staff ratio seems much higher than previous homes, but I am told they are normal ratio, which can only emphasise the commitment and dedication these carers have for their patients.
Foxleigh is surrounded by beautiful gardens, open to all. If patients cannot get out to enjoy the gardens, there is always someone to wheel them around.
I am only sorry we did not find this gem sooner, but my mother could finally end her days surrounded by love, and the feeling of being safe. Nothing can take that away and I am eternally grateful. Thank you.

My mother was moved to Foxleigh Grove, from her previous nursing home, in February 2022 at the request of my two sisters who lived close by. I was initially reluctant to move her but on visiting Foxleigh Grove it was immediately apparent that the surroundings and the feeling of 'being at home' would
suit my mother.
Once my mother had moved, the care and attention she started to receive from the nursing staff were so much better for her state of mind. My mother had a 'challenging' personality but the staff dealt with her needs and took it in their stride.
When visiting, I was always in awe of the dedication and kindness shown by such young staff. The care my mother received from all staff, regardless of their job status, was fantastic.
My mother sadly passed away at the end of April and to the very end, I was kept updated and welcomed when visiting even through these recent difficult times.
My thanks and admiration goes to all the staff at Foxleigh Grove - Thank you.

My dear and best friend recently passed away peacefully and comfortably in Foxleigh Grove. I was there with her and it was a sad and beautiful moment. She had been at Foxleigh Grove for nearly nine years. She was very well looked after, her room was kept clean, and the caring staff were all very kind
and understanding with her. I have very good and happy memories of visiting her, and all the community activities, especially the singing and live music, with visiting singers and musicians. I also took her for walks in the beautiful and extensive garden grounds and lawn. She had a favourite tree in the garden. I have ordered a reclining teak wooden chair with a luxury sage cushion in memory of her to be put in the garden. The chair will have a brass plate with the words 'live wise, love well, be beautiful'.

My mother went to Foxleigh Grove for her end of life care. She lived for 3 more months due to the excellent care she received. Every single person was extremely helpful, caring and nothing was ever too much trouble. The home was beautiful just as my mum would have wanted. We were able to visit daily
and be with her on her passing which is all we ever wanted. The staff were so accommodating, I would definitely recommend Foxleigh Grove. We couldn’t have wished for anything better for our mum, a huge thank you to everyone involved with the home.

My Mother had to go into care during lockdown and had to isolate at first, she found this very difficult and the staff went out of their way to spend time with her and help her to settle in. The home's ethos seems genuinely caring.

My mother went to Foxleigh Grove in 2016 for what the NHS said was end of life care. Foxleigh's warmth and excellent care brought her recovery and 5 years of happy, good quality life.
The house itself is welcoming and pleasantly decorated, well maintained. The gardens are lovely and well cared for.
My mother's room had french windows opening onto the terrace, and a table and chairs right outside, which she could use when she wanted. The food is good; 'special requests' and meals, not just snacks, for visitors are always available.
The most important thing is the quality of the owners and staff. Their skill, devotion, attitude, work ethic and wish to please is exceptional. Every nurse there, the cook and the handyman were all my mother's favourite. She was and felt loved and cared for. We have only the highest praise for the care she received and the atmosphere there.
My mother and we were very fortunate to find somewhere so good to look after her. The care is excellent.

We are very pleased with Foxleigh. Mother is happy and well looked after. The staff are marvellous. They have bravely worked through the Covid period, are always friendly and responsive, and generally in excellent spirits. My mother has everything she needs and enjoys being at Foxleigh. She enjoys
lunch in the conservatory and likes to look out at the garden both from there and from her room. She enjoys the activities (though I think she might enjoy more). She has also enjoyed the trips (pantomime, boat trip etc) and the theatrical events held in the Foxleigh garden. Overall, we are happy and confident that she is in safe and caring hands. I think we have made an excellent choice. A big thank you to all the staff.

My brother moved into Foxleigh Grove in November 2020. He was living on his own and having 4 carers a day which proved not to be enough. He is bedridden and suffers from dementia and it became clear he needed 24-hour care.
I was recommended to look at Foxleigh by a friend, who had had a relative cared
for by them in the past. I especially liked it because it was small, not far from where I live and there was a homely atmosphere about it. The reviews about the quality of nursing care were also good.
It took him a while to settle in but the staff have been very patient, caring and kind to him. I feel that he's in a good place and I am comfortable that he is being given the best of care. He loves the food.

Our Mother has been at Foxleigh now since June 2017, following a near brush with death leaving her with heart failure and chronic COPD. The team at Foxleigh helped her get back on her feet and from a lady who had previously been determined she wanted to remain at home as she grew older, she very quickly
decided that Foxleigh was to be her new home and has never looked back. Our Mother regards the team at Foxleigh as an extension of her own family and particularly at this time when faced with the challenges of Covid 19 we cannot thank them enough for keeping the person most precious to us safe and so well cared for.

My mother has been a resident here for 2.5 years. During her stay she has become less able to do things for herself and the staff have gently adapted their care to suit her. She now has to have help with personal care and eating; this is done without rush and with care.
All the staff are friendly
and genuinely seem to enjoy their work. In these last few months this has been so reassuring as due to Covid-19 family have not been allowed to visit and it helps to know that even though we can’t visit, the residents have friends around them in the team at Foxleigh.
The building is beautiful: previously a family home it has been thoughtfully extended but retains that ‘family home’ feel which makes it feel less of an institution.
There is a dining room, lounge and conservatory overlooking wonderful gardens.
The food is generally delicious and varied.
Activities including games, quizzes, musical events, to name a few, are organised most days for those that wish to join in.

  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
