This extends to the time of rising and retiring, when and where meals are taken and whether the individual wishes to participate in spontaneous or pre-planned events, within the Home or wider community.

Working closely with families and professionals is fundamental in delivering and maintaining the required level of health and well-being. They also appreciate how important it is that residents retain close relationships with their family and friends. Bridge House's comprehensive care provision is designed to deliver skilled, professional and individually planned nursing care in an unobtrusive manner.

At Bridge House, they are committed to employing highly trained professionals in every field, from the nursing and catering staff, through to the management team. Each individual works to ensure that residents can enjoy their chosen lifestyle in a relaxing and tranquil environment. Across Bridge House, Bridge Court and Bridge Park a range of care needs can be catered for. They can accommodate independent and assisted living within their retirement village Bridge Park. Bridge House offers specialist residential and nursing dementia care and Bridge Court offers residential and nursing care to residents who are cognitively well. Rehabilitation care can also be provided within both Bridge Court and Bridge House with physiotherapists on hand daily.

The atmosphere at Bridge Court is happy and relaxed. The staff are excellent and attentive. The home appears well run. My mother is very content and satisfied living there. She feels her every need is catered for.

My father has Alzheimers and has very high care needs. He has been a resident at Bridge House since October 2022. I can quite honestly say that the care that he receives is absolutely excellent.
Bridge House itself is set in beautiful surroundings with a lovely friendly atmosphere. There is a terrific
care team who always have the residents needs at the front and centre of all that they do.
There is a regular programme of activities and all residents are encouraged to participate in these where they can.
The nursing staff have an excellent grasp of each residents care packages and are very perceptive to any changes that may require further medical attention. They work very closely with the local doctors surgery which means speedy medical investigation is available when required. This is very reassuring.
Relatives and friends are made to feel very welcome when they see their loved ones and there are no restrictions on when you can visit.

My mother has been in Bridge House for over two years now; it has had its ups and downs over this time.
The staff have generally been amazing with her.
But since the last home care manager has arrived, things have definitely improved.
I have been impressed with the entertainment and activities;
this has increased my mother’s mental stimulation massively.
Visiting zoo times, beach days, art activities and some lovely singers to name a few.
I really understand the staffing difficulties, especially since the catastrophic Brexit vote.
But at the moment, Bridge House has some wonderful staff, from the nursing staff to maintenance and grounds staff, reception and, of course, all importantly, all the wonderful care staff.
Just recently they have also opened a little cafe, that can be used by all blue light staff for a hot drink and a snack.

My mother has been at Bridge Court for nearly four years now. My sister and I visit on a regular basis and are both extremely happy with the care our mother is currently receiving. The home is under excellent management. Both the head and deputy head are hands-on with the residents and ensure they communicate
regularly with relatives. They have built up a top-class team of nurses and carers, and we know that our mother is in safe and capable hands. Since Covid, activities are now back up and running organised by a dedicated team of staff, who are committed to providing a stimulating programme for residents both in groups and one-to-one. Catering, maintenance and cleaning standards are high, and reception is always welcoming and helpful. Thank you.

Review is based on first 12 weeks of care. Most staff generate a positive approach to their duties and tryand keep next of kin informed of any medical issues. Some hygiene issues, nail and toe cutting have been chased and actioned quickly.
On arrival, we asked that physiotherapist be arranged through
the local GP under the community physiotherapy team on the NHS as requested by Hospital following Mum’s discharge. Si to eight weeks physiotherapy were indicated following discharge. This matter is to be followed up on the next GP but suspect it is now too late!
Main lounge area seems congested/crowded making conversations sometimes difficult but try to arrange in advance for Mum to be put in a wheelchair and moved to a more quiet area e.g. conservatory or dining room or garden.
Overall, it has a very homely feel and the staff are very dedicated to their roles. Staff have a very good interaction with family members.

We have three family members in Bridge House Nursing Home and are delighted by the quality of care and support provided by the team. The staff are kind, compassionate and skilled. They work immensely hard to ensure that each resident’s needs are considered and met. Small touches make a big difference.
Communication is excellent, and we feel completely at home when we visit. We are welcome at any time, and as a result, we have complete confidence in the care provided. A lovely place for families to live.

My father has been at Bridge House Nursing Home for 6 months now and he quickly settled in. He is very well looked after and there are plenty of activities to keep him occupied. All staff are extremely hard working and show great patience whilst providing excellent care and attention to all his needs.

My mother spent nearly a year at Bridge House. All the staff and management treat the residents like family. They are so compassionate and kind. Sadly, my mother spent her last days there, but I can genuinely say that I can not think of any better place for her to have been. Everyone at Bridge House
made her last days as comfortable as possible, and they also showed great compassion for us visiting her. Knowing that she was so well looked after made the last few weeks much more bearable for all the family.

My mother has lived at Bridge Court for the past four years, and the current team, led by a dynamic, responsive and extremely caring manager and assistant manager, has ensured continuity of staff with excellent nurses. Without everyone at Bridge and the extremely high standards of comfort and cuisine,
my mother would have very little quality to her life. It is most certainly "a home away from home". Thank you for such professionalism and dedication.

My mother has been in Bridge Court since June 2020. The care she receives is second to none and at 103 she might outlive me. Both my partner and I would be quite happy to go there should we have to in the future.

I could not fault Bridge House. I have visited my friend there for about six months, and each time I have been received pleasantly by staff and carefully provided with barrier clothing. I have been welcomed by staff who recognise me and are very helpful, but also professional. There are always staff
immediately responding to any need expressed, and they are very helpful and pleasant. The accommodation is charming, comfortable and easily negotiated by wheelchairs. My friends room is delightful. This is my true and personal experience.

I have been happy here, since my husband and myself arrived in May. We have both been very well looked after. My husband died in September and since then I have been including myself in the activities more. The lady who does them is very kind and paints my nails. The nurses help me so much as I am in

My mother spent seven months in rehabilitation here. The physio she received was outstanding and thankfully continues now she is back in her own home. She found all the staff - carers, nurses and cleaners - to be very hardworking, attentive and friendly. I am grateful to the home for all that they did

My husband is very well looked after by all the team at Bridge House nursing home. I am kept up to date with his condition and medication. The physio team have been working hard to keep his mobility going. He always looks very clean in his own clothes. During the covid lockdowns, staff worked hard to
make visits possible. Very important for residents and their families.

I came here for OT and physio after a stroke and it has been excellent. I am now going home. Very pleasant staff and carers. Lovely varied, delicious menus. The physios were so positive and encouraging. Lovely room.

I am very happy with the treatment I am receiving at Bridge House, in the rehab unit (Bridge Court). The staff are very kind and caring and perform their duties with a high degree of professionalism. They often turn up to help me get to bed without me having to call them. Their attitude to care is that
they are here to assist the patients rather than thinking of their own agendas and having particular times when it is not possible to get help because it is break time or lunchtime, or other gaps in service. Bridge Court is refreshingly different.

Bridge House offers a safe, supportive and compassionate environment for their residents, always proactive with their care and wellbeing. During these strange times of pandemic, their attention to infection prevention and control is exemplary for both staff and residents, prioritising health and safety
measures at the highest level. They do everything possible to keep in touch with families, facilitating visits when restrictions permit, which we find so reassuring. There have been ups and downs with my father’s health recently, including an emergency hospital admission, and the staff have managed things calmly and professionally, including making first-class physiotherapy support and rehab available to get him back to as much strength as possible. Huge thanks to the lovely team - I strongly recommend Bridge House.

Rachel

Rachel Stoneman

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2022

Rachel studied to be a nurse in Wales and qualified in 2015. She had a varied role as a nurse, starting in the burns intensive care unit in Swansea, moving to young adults with complex care needs and then into acute emergency care in Wexham Park.


Rachel found her passion for dementia care when joining a nurse bank team in a local care home whilst working as an acute care nurse. This inspiration has seen Rachel transfer her skills, working in care home management since 2018.


Rachel joined Bridge House in July 2022 and has made a big impact so far, Bridge received a GOOD overall in the CQC inspection in November 2022. Rachel has an honest, transparent, and respectful leadership style and is passionate about delivering high-quality person-centred care to the residents living in the community at Bridge House.


In Rachel’s spare time, she enjoys gardening, running and travelling.
