Bridge House Nursing Home always has a very happy cheery feel to it. The staff are all very caring and make families feel very welcome and included. There are lots of activities for residents throughout the week, helping them to interact and join in, which is so important.

Nursing care has been wonderful, really on the ball and has restored my mother-in-law to health.
Lots of entertainment choices and no complaints regarding the food.

Beautiful surroundings, and sitting in the garden in the summer was a delight. Carers are always helpful and willing to get my mother-in-law in a nice spot.

Overall the care provided is very good however there are some improvements needed eg the better training of some carers and the infrastructure (building). The services provided are very good for residents, but for residents who prefer the quiet of their own room, constant noise and music playing in open areas can be really upsetting and annoying. There could be more quiet areas for residents to retreat to when desired eg. in the conservatory, but if it's raining the roof leaks and so the room becomes unusable. Attention to detail could be better eg. if a soft diet is required, the kitchen should prepare the meals accordingly. Some of the food served is not of the highest standard and lacks sauces or flavours to make the dishes more enjoyable, there is a tendency to frequently serve Indian spiced foods eg. soups. I would still recommend Bridge House House Nursing Home and suggest that more individualised care be provided as much as possible. This is what could make the home outstanding!

My Mother has now spent four years at Bridge House and is still a resident in the nursing home. My mother suffers from Dementia. I cannot have enough words to say just how amazing the nursing home is.
Bridge House does not feel like a nursing home at all, at Bridge House it is amazing! They have music playing, it's bright and light, residents are cared for and the staff really knows them inside and out.
What their likes and dislikes are, what makes them laugh, who they get on with and what they love to eat etc. My mother is so happy and she is always beautifully clean and dressed and cared for. The dining room and food is fantastic and residents' relatives are made welcome, the staff are bright and there are always activities going on.
The home is also small and cosy in numbers as well as feel and you have the sense that there is a real family feel.

I don't know what we would do without Bridge House caring for my lovely mother at 95 years!

We chose Bridge House for my mother's dementia care because of the high standards it reflected and how they genuinely cared for their guests and kept them real and treated them with respect. Management changed though and standards declined and our concerns for the program of care were growing. However with a further change of management and a new team we have now seen a real change over the last few months and not only have we seen a return to the Bridge House we had originally seen, but a team that now seems to go beyond that. The bottom line of this is the homely feel and comfort reflected in my mother when we visit.

My father has Alzheimers and has very high care needs. He has been a resident at Bridge House since October 2022. I can quite honestly say that the care that he receives is absolutely excellent.
Bridge House itself is set in beautiful surroundings with a lovely friendly atmosphere. There is a terrific care team who always have the residents needs at the front and centre of all that they do.
There is a regular programme of activities and all residents are encouraged to participate in these where they can.
The nursing staff have an excellent grasp of each residents care packages and are very perceptive to any changes that may require further medical attention. They work very closely with the local doctors surgery which means speedy medical investigation is available when required. This is very reassuring.

Relatives and friends are made to feel very welcome when they see their loved ones and there are no restrictions on when you can visit.

My mother has been in Bridge House for over two years now; it has had its ups and downs over this time.
The staff have generally been amazing with her.
But since the last home care manager has arrived, things have definitely improved.
I have been impressed with the entertainment and activities; this has increased my mother’s mental stimulation massively.
Visiting zoo times, beach days, art activities and some lovely singers to name a few.
I really understand the staffing difficulties, especially since the catastrophic Brexit vote.
But at the moment, Bridge House has some wonderful staff, from the nursing staff to maintenance and grounds staff, reception and, of course, all importantly, all the wonderful care staff.

Just recently they have also opened a little cafe, that can be used by all blue light staff for a hot drink and a snack.

My mother has been at Bridge Court for nearly four years now. My sister and I visit on a regular basis and are both extremely happy with the care our mother is currently receiving. The home is under excellent management. Both the head and deputy head are hands-on with the residents and ensure they communicate regularly with relatives. They have built up a top-class team of nurses and carers, and we know that our mother is in safe and capable hands. Since Covid, activities are now back up and running organised by a dedicated team of staff, who are committed to providing a stimulating programme for residents both in groups and one-to-one. Catering, maintenance and cleaning standards are high, and reception is always welcoming and helpful. Thank you.

Review is based on first 12 weeks of care. Most staff generate a positive approach to their duties and tryand keep next of kin informed of any medical issues. Some hygiene issues, nail and toe cutting have been chased and actioned quickly.
On arrival, we asked that physiotherapist be arranged through the local GP under the community physiotherapy team on the NHS as requested by Hospital following Mum’s discharge. Si to eight weeks physiotherapy were indicated following discharge. This matter is to be followed up on the next GP but suspect it is now too late!
Main lounge area seems congested/crowded making conversations sometimes difficult but try to arrange in advance for Mum to be put in a wheelchair and moved to a more quiet area e.g. conservatory or dining room or garden.

Overall, it has a very homely feel and the staff are very dedicated to their roles. Staff have a very good interaction with family members.

We have three family members in Bridge House Nursing Home and are delighted by the quality of care and support provided by the team. The staff are kind, compassionate and skilled. They work immensely hard to ensure that each resident’s needs are considered and met. Small touches make a big difference. Communication is excellent, and we feel completely at home when we visit. We are welcome at any time, and as a result, we have complete confidence in the care provided. A lovely place for families to live.

My mother spent nearly a year at Bridge House. All the staff and management treat the residents like family. They are so compassionate and kind. Sadly, my mother spent her last days there, but I can genuinely say that I can not think of any better place for her to have been. Everyone at Bridge House made her last days as comfortable as possible, and they also showed great compassion for us visiting her. Knowing that she was so well looked after made the last few weeks much more bearable for all the family.

My mother has been in Bridge Court since June 2020. The care she receives is second to none and at 103 she might outlive me. Both my partner and I would be quite happy to go there should we have to in the future.

My mother has lived at Bridge Court for the past four years, and the current team, led by a dynamic, responsive and extremely caring manager and assistant manager, has ensured continuity of staff with excellent nurses. Without everyone at Bridge and the extremely high standards of comfort and cuisine, my mother would have very little quality to her life. It is most certainly "a home away from home". Thank you for such professionalism and dedication.

After a personal recommendation, my mother had a two-week respite care stay at Bridge House What a good experience for both of us. A modern, well-furnished building, complimented by an amazing standard of care from every member of staff and a wide menu choice, with a very high standard of food. Freshly made on the premises. A truly wonderful care home!

I could not fault Bridge House. I have visited my friend there for about six months, and each time I have been received pleasantly by staff and carefully provided with barrier clothing. I have been welcomed by staff who recognise me and are very helpful, but also professional. There are always staff immediately responding to any need expressed, and they are very helpful and pleasant. The accommodation is charming, comfortable and easily negotiated by wheelchairs. My friends room is delightful. This is my true and personal experience.

I have been happy here, since my husband and myself arrived in May. We have both been very well looked after. My husband died in September and since then I have been including myself in the activities more. The lady who does them is very kind and paints my nails. The nurses help me so much as I am in a wheelchair. They always treat me with kindness and dignity.
