We can't praise the staff of Longmead Court highly enough for the excellent care they are providing for my mother. They are all very special people. They do their best to bring my mother suitable food - and, although she struggles to eat, everything is well cooked and tasty, and we are delighted with the care in preparation. Mother's room is beautifully decorated and pleasant to be in. It's always very clean. Thank you all so much for the care you provide.

The team at Longmead provided professional, personalised and thoughtful care to my lovely nanny and us as a family throughout her stay and through her passing. We considered moving Nan to a closer home (that was also significantly less costly) however she was so comfortable at Longmead and we were so happy with the care that we decided to have her stay and we’re so pleased we did. The end-of-life care and consideration was exceptional. The genuine, authentic extra care and kindness was unexpected and made what has been the most sad time a little more tolerable. Words can’t actually explain the difference the team made and we will be forever grateful. Thank you to every single person from the Longmead team who extended such kindness to the nanny and to us. We appreciate each and every one of you.

My visit to this care home was met with very helpful staff, there was always a member of staff on hand to help in any way. The atmosphere was cheerful and welcoming, nice and clean and smelled fresh. Not like the usual experience I have encountered before in some nursing homes.

Our experience of Longmead has been a happy one for our mother. Everyone is friendly and approachable. A clean and homely feel to the rooms. We could also ask the staff any questions at any time and nothing was too much trouble. The food was good and the care was excellent.

My dad was only at Longmead Court for a short time having been discharged from hospital. All of my dealings with this care home in this time were first class and very professional. Dad had a pleasant room with a nice view and was cared for well. It's quite daunting to choose a care home for your loved one I would have no hesitation in recommending Longmead Court.

My wife has been resident at Longmead Court for nearly four years. During all of that time, she has been happy and calm, receiving care that is totally appropriate for her life in the best way possible. The care staff, domestic staff and management show genuine care and empathy with her and her condition and also with myself. This has been emphasised through the current COVID crisis and I cannot thank them enough.

Review from Rebecca T (Daughter of Resident) published on 22 September 2020 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

I am extremely disappointed with Longmead Court. I and my family have many concerns that the home does not seem to want to address. I do not deny that the care provided by the nurses and other staff is good and the residents are certainly treated well by them, however, there appears to be little communication between the care staff and management. And when problems arise nothing seems to get done. My father had spent some time in the hospital and there was poor communication from the home, resulting in the hospital being unsure as to who was the first contact and next of kin. It appears that my father was allowed to leave the residence with another two family members during the lockdown and I find this completely risky and unacceptable.

Originally, we were concerned about residential care for my mother for a number of reasons, but Longmead was recommended to us and has certainly proved to be the best place for her. She is well cared for and happy and we have no worries about her safety as we did when she was still in her own home, even though she had live-in care. She is clean, warm, well-fed and takes part enthusiastically in the activities on offer. We could not be more pleased that she has settled so well.
