My dad has recently had a stay here. I can totally understand why this home is inadequate, needs improvement with CQC. Extremely poor communication between the home and resident's family, to the point where they didn't have the decency to tell us they can no longer look after my dad, had to hear it
from another source. Management is very poor and extremely rude, promises things which she has no intentions of doing. My dad is a dementia patient and clearly, they are not suitably trained/experienced staff to deal with dementia patients, no understanding at all how dementia sufferer feels. Certain staff and management have a dreadful way of speaking about loved ones to their family, have no concept of how they feel when hearing things about their relatives. Dad never looked clean and no effort was ever made when I took Dad out. One day I had to change him out of his pyjamas and change incontinence wear as it was nearly midday, which no one had bothered doing before I arrived.

Unfortunately there are times when a persons' needs change and they can no longer be cared for in a particular setting, despite all efforts being made. We have a duty of care to all residents and staff to ensure their safety and wellbeing. We are sorry that you feel this way about the communication but the family were informed about all concerns relating to their father. The nursing staff are fully trained in dementia care but due to his high needs, we reiterate that we had to think about our other residents and staff.

Staff were very attentive and caring towards my Mum. Particularly for her end of life care. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this professionally run nursing care home.

I felt that after my wife died at the home on the 4 April I needed to get this issue out in the open. In the first few days, I visited my wife when she was seated in the communal area, looking quite distraught. Seated nearby was another female patient who for no apparent reason was making nasty comments
to her. I was completely shocked to the extent I asked for my wife to be moved away to a side area where I could speak to her in private without this patient continuing her nasty comments. Afterwards, I spoke to a senior nurse at the home and explained what had occurred. She knew who I was talking about, mentioned her name and told me not to be too concerned as she often acted like this and asked me to take no notice. Now I am aware that there are many patients in these homes suffering from all sorts of illnesses but this particular category of patients really ought to be segregated to stop this sort of upsetting situation to other patients.

I would thoroughly recommend this home to anybody who has to put any member of there family there.
The home is spotless and the management, staff, reception staff are 100% caring and thoughtful to your every need.

Was really impressed with this home for the little time my uncle was in here. The staff were always friendly and willing to help. They took time to spend with patients and their family. The food and drinks were of a high standard too. The nurses and management were kind and helpful. The entertainment
man was really lovely too and helped stimulate the resident's minds to keep active.

Parklands were absolutely fantastic for my mum. Giving her the best care she could possibly have and maintaining her dignity. The input from all the staff were amazing. I feel so happy that Parklands made my mum's last weeks as comfortable as they could. My overall standard of her care was excellent
and would highly recommend Parklands Nursing Home as the best place to be for your loved ones. Thank you to everyone involved at Parklands.

I just want to say the quality of care given by everyone was amazing. My mother was looked after so well and her final moments were calm and with dignity. It is a very jolly place to be thanks to the staff who make it like that. I take great comfort in knowing the last few weeks of my mother's life
were comfortable and pain-free. Excellent does not begin to say how I feel about Parklands.

My mother entered Parklands Nursing Home as an emergency for end of life care. She was only there for 4 days before she was transferred to hospital.
The care she received and empathy to us was exemplary.

My uncle was at Parklands in December 2018 but beforehand he was in a few care homes in Basildon and Southend and this was by far the worst experience we have had as a family. To start with carer’s in green uniforms were giving out medication when they shouldn’t be because we overheard a carer saying
to a nurse they shouldn’t be giving the medication out, the manager is rude in the way she spoke to myself, my family, other staff and residents. The nurses are extremely rude, some of them make you feel like you shouldn’t be there and they are not supportive in any way! The food is diabolical and there isn’t much choice at all, the place is dirty although they have cleaners, the lamp shades are all full of dust, marks on the carpets, and you can tell they don’t pull beds and furniture out and clean on a regular basis. All the carers are lovely but there seems to be a real issue on nights with lack of carers and so much to do they are running around left, right and centre.

My husband recently passed away in the nursing home. Over the nearly 2yrs he was there he was always treated with respect and dignity. During the last week of his life they were even more attentive to his needs as they changed. The love they showed, not just to him, but also myself is priceless. They
always had time for me despite their busy day. The nurses had all his end of life care in place ready for when it was needed.

The carers were amazing for my father in law who was there for end of life care, however, I found one of the nurses extremely rude and the way she spoke to her staff was disgusting and disrespectful! Management needs help as well as the place does not move smoothly and you can tell they are short staffed
on days and night. At one point I was staying at night with the family and my father in law needed a pad changed and there were no carers about, the whole place was empty, they then came to us about an hour later apologising saying they were on pad round upstairs so downstairs will be empty as there isn’t enough staff, it was disgusting.

The staff at Parklands Nursing Home was amazing with mum. Mum was terminally ill and went in for end of life care. Mum went in very anxious. The staff made her feel safe with dignity. The staff are very caring and I can't express enough of the support for my sister, mum and me. I cannot recommend this
nursing home enough. I would even move in there myself.

My 47-year-old son spent just over two weeks at this wonderful establishment as he passed away here after a two year battle against terminal brain cancer. I was so impressed by the kindness, willingness to help and the professional manner of all the staff, from those who cleaned the rooms, provided
meals, did laundry, through carers, nurses and manager. Being an animal lover, it moved me to see dogs coming in to visit their humans, how very special.
I was sure it was against the rules, but when I climbed into my son's bed to hold him close towards the end, no one reprimanded me or told me to get off the bed. I was able to cuddle my dying child in my arms many times as his time drew closer. Moments I will treasure forever.
Thank you Parklands staff for your friendliness to this "foreigner!"You are all earth angels.

From the moment my Mum arrived at the home in July 2016 following a stroke she has been given so much love, care, affection and dignity. The food choice is varied as is the drink. If residents don't like what is in front of them they are offered something different straight away. Always being encouraged
to eat and drink. Cleanliness is spot on so are the cleaners. All staff across the board are brilliant. Medication is given with precision. I highly recommend this nursing home.

I would like to thank all staff for there professionalism in the way they looked after my dad. I have never met so many staff who are so focused on their residents and wellbeing.
I found Parklands Home to be of a very high standard in the way staff mix and talk to residents and was always welcoming
visitors.
If you are in need of care for a loved one then please, please look no further.
For me I had peace of mind knowing my dad was getting the care he needed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Excellent! Heartfelt care comes straight to my mind. My mum and I were at the end of our tether trying to find a care home to accept my grandad who we had cared for until he tragically lost his wife and was needing full-time care for his dementia. My grandad cannot speak and it was so difficult trying
to explain to different care homes his needs and we were declined so many times, until we met a lovely nurse and senior carer at Parklands - they listened and understood us and exactly what grandad's needs were. My grandad is nearing to end of life care now and the compassion and kindness he is receiving are second to none. We are informed of any changes to him regularly and all the staff cannot do enough for us. I have never seen so many staff in my life. I have a nursing background and am aware of the standards that should be in place and Parklands exceeds these. If you are looking for a calm, well staffed, caring, compassionate care home then look no further.
