My Wife and I are most impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of all the Allenbrook staff. From the first point of contact to current day they understand the needs of my Mother and have unreservedly shown compassion and understanding during what is undoubtedly a difficult time of adjustment,
for not only her but also for the family.
There is no doubt their mission is to ensure their residents are happy and settled in their new environment. I have no hesitation in recommending Allenbrook to anyone who finds themselves experiencing such a traumatic change in life circumstance.

When putting my aunt into a care home I was full of apprehension. Allenbrook put all that to rest. They have been more than kind, helpful, considerate and more than any time caring for people who really need it.
My aunt puts it in one phrase "I have joined a small family community." This puts all my
worries to one side.

Allenbrook is the best care home ever! My father-in-law was very happy there. He loved the banter with the staff and other residents and enjoyed taking part in the many activities. The staff are all very kind and helpful. They are always willing to go the extra mile to make somebody's life happier
or more comfortable. The house and gardens are beautiful and well-maintained and residents are encouraged to sit on the sunny, bright terrace so that they may enjoy the views and the stunning flower displays whenever possible. I cannot fault Allenbrook at all and I would certainly recommend it to others.

My father-in-law reached his hundredth birthday and this was largely due to the special care he received at Allenbrook. I am so grateful to all the staff there for making him so happy.

I could not wish for a better care home for my father. The staff made his life a very happy one and after only a couple of weeks there he said that he did not want to go home. What better testament can you get than that. The staff are caring and considerate. They make the residents feel wanted and
as if they are in their own homes. The house and grounds are very beautiful and well kept. A great variety of entertainment is available and trips out are regularly available. The meals are very good and varied.

I was extremely pleased with the care my father experienced at Allenbrook and I would readily recommend it to others.

You cannot find a nicer nursing home than Allenbrook. The staff are kind and caring and do everything to make the residents feel welcome and happy - it is a home from home. My father was a resident there for the last three years of his life and he loved it. He loved the entertainments and trips out
and he especially enjoyed the banter between staff and residents. He was well taken care of, he always looked neat and tidy and the food was excellent.

The biggest recommendation I can give is that my father was always smiling.

Current Review Score: 8.6 (8.581)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.6 (8.581) out of 10 for Allenbrook Nursing & Residential Care is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.500 for Allenbrook Nursing & Residential Care is calculated as follows: ( (34 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.081 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Allenbrook Nursing & Residential Care is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 43 registered maximum number of service users is 8.6. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.6 = 0.581

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
