Overall Experience
Mum was discharged from hospital with a terminal brain tumour for end of life care and sadly passed away two days after being discharged to Carleen Care Home. We were unsure as to how long Mum would be with the team but believed it to be weeks or months rather than days. From the moment she arrived the team were incredible and cared for her with the utmost kindness, respect and compassion. She was warm, comfortable and calm and the team went out of their way to help us all deal with the situation as things unfolded.
As a family, we spent the weekend at the home as Mum's condition deteriorated quickly but the team were fantastic with us too, supporting us through what was an emotionally difficult time too. They encouraged us to talk to Mum, share stories, hold her hand and help to keep her calm.

The care Mum received could not be faulted and the team at Carleen completely exceeded our expectations on every level. A fantastic team of wonderful, caring people. They were simply fabulous.

My mother has been a resident at Carleen Care Home these last eighteen months and is comfortable and content.
The home is warm and friendly. Staff are kind and helpful.
Carleen staff have done a great job at keeping residents - and themselves - safe during the pandemic.

I can recommend wholeheartedly.

Overall Experience

My aunt has been in Carleen for nearly four years. When she arrived her husband was with her, he was the reason for having to find accommodation due to care needs. From the moment they arrived they felt loved and cared for, nothing was too much trouble. There was so much going on, entertainment, activities everyday which my aunt loves. The manager and her team have been fantastic through the pandemic, and have kept our loved ones very safe and well. We are able to Skype our aunt, have visits in a pod to keep them safe, and I have now had actual visits face to face with her with PPE and social distancing. Thank you to the manager and all the staff for making our aunt feel so loved and cared for, as she tells me each time we speak, we could not have found her a better place, she has no problems and everyone is so kind. We would recommend this home to everyone.

My mum went into Carleen after having a stroke in 2012 and was there until 2020, she was well looked after in those years and treated with excellent care, kindness and compassion. She loved to join in with most daily activities and enjoyed visits from various groups. It felt like family which is why we chose Carleen and it proved to be the case.
In those years if there were any issues they were dealt with swiftly and I can honestly say they were few and far between.
The management and staff were outstanding, professional and kind.

I will always be so grateful for the loving care she received.

Fantastic staff and facilities. My sister in law was literally wasting away in hospital, had pneumonia twice, went from 41 kilos on admission to 33.6 kilos, she was curled up in bed in the fetal position. Got her into this care home and the change was unbelievable, been here two weeks, total change. She sits down in the lounge with the family, so improved, we expected the worst but now we think she’s coming back to her old self. Can’t overstate how good it is in Carleen. Thanks to everyone involved.

I've visited friends in the Carleen care home for a number of years. I've never found anything I've been unhappy with. The staff are caring and kind. The rooms are clean and from what I've seen the food is good. The lady does a really good job in the lounge. There is some good entertainment for the residents which I think is important.

Overall Experience

Our sister-in-law was a resident of Carleen from May 2009 until July 2017. During this time she was well looked after, happy and content, joined in the activities provided and particularly enjoyed the art and craft afternoons.

The staff looking after my sister-in-law have been very capable, considerate and friendly. We have made regular visits to Carleen but as we live in Yorkshire we were very dependant on the staff for our sister-in-law's daily care and keeping us properly informed, they have never let us down.

Excellent professionalism and care was shown to my father who was end of life. Sensitive and empathetic staff who were genuine and sincere. My dad died on the 26th June 2017 in Carleen. Their approach made this experience less traumatic.

Although I have only been here almost three weeks I have enjoyed my stay here. The accommodation is fine and there are lots of activities that occur daily. The food at times could have been warmer. The care I received is very good and I have been happy here.

I was admitted to Carleen nursing home for a short stay following a fall at home fracturing her hip, resulting a hospital admission. The purpose of my stay was at Carleen just to build confidence and improve my mobility. This I did with the excellent support of the staff. I can recommend.
