My mother was referred to the Cedar Lawn in May 2025 suffering from several health problems including a UTI which affected her behaviour. She is also bed-bound and unable to perform most physical functions. She had always been apprehensive about going into a care home. Despite all these problems she has been professionally cared for with empathy, patience, and kindness, and is now settled and grateful to be there. The staff and management have developed a great relationship with her, and us, her family, with constant communication and updates. They are very quick in identifying any need she might have, medical or personal, and putting the necessary measures in place. The food is also excellent, and she is now eating again (having stopped during her stay in hospital). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Cedar Lawn to any potential care-user.

My mother joined the residents of Cedar Lawn initially for two weeks of respite care, within a week she made the decision that she wanted to stay. Her decision was based on the excellent care that she was receiving from the nursing / care staff and also the excellent management team.
She often told me how kind everyone was and particularly the chefs who always came into her room and spent time with her while taking her choice of meals for the day.
I personally think that the care was so good due to the smaller size of the home and the staff to resident ratio that was far better than larger care homes, my mother was blind and therefore the more personal touch was much better for my mothers needs.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Cedar Lawn to anyone requiring nursing care.

Dear Chris,

Thank you so much for your kind words. You are exactly right, as a smaller home, we really get to know our residents and can provide truly personalised care with higher staff ratios. It was a pleasure to care for your mother.

When my mum moved into Cedar Lawn nearly 3 years ago it immediately felt like she became part of the Cedar Lawn family.
The home is well managed and many of the staff have worked there for a number of years. As a result and because of its size I felt that the staff got to know the residents as individuals.
Throughout her stay I found the staff were welcoming , kind and friendly. I was kept well-informed by the nursing staff and any issues were quickly addressed by the manager.
The home has good facilities, and offers a range of activities and social events, to which relatives were welcomed.

My heartfelt thanks to all of you for Mum's care.

It fitted what I required for my wife who whilst forgetful is not considered to have dementia. Her requirement was a secure Care Home where she could interact with other people not being bothered their condition or status. In my mind she should not be left alone for hours during the day and her meals to be in the lounge always mixing.. This was a great success and avoided any a moments when she could be anxious.

Reply from Alan Jumaily, Managing Director at Cedar Lawn Nursing Home

Thank you Howard for your kind words. You are absolutely right, it is so key for staff to spend as much time as possible with residents and I am pleased this was your experience of our fantastic team at Cedar Lawn.

Cedar Lawn provide an excellent home and service. Their compassion, caring and communication is exemplary. Nothing is too much trouble in helping the resident settle in. My sister-in-law has been very challenging but the Cedar Lawn staff have calmly and gently tried a variety of ways of engaging her. They have kept the family well informed and engaged at all times. I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff from management to housekeeping to catering to care team, congratulations!

My Aunt has been warmly welcomed into this care home and very quickly said she wouldn't want to go back to her old home. Cedar Lawn is a very caring home and has a real family atmosphere. The food is all cooked on-site and they cater to all needs. Currently, there is a lack of outings due to a minibus not being available - this needs to be sorted. It will make such a difference to the residents to be able to go offsite.
The carers are always friendly and listen to any concerns. When visiting I am always made to feel welcome. I feel that the organized activities are fun and interactive.

They do their best for all the residents.

My sister was cared for at Cedar Lawn from the 9th of February after her discharge from the hospital. The manager and her team looked after her extremely well. The food was excellent, the staff caring and attentive and she was very comfortable there. Having seen several nursing homes over the years Cedar Lawn is one of the best I have been to.

Cedar Lawn Nursing Home was so much the perfect place for our mum. She wasn’t in a good place when she arrived there and was on the decline. Sadly, within two weeks she passed away, but during her short time there the care, compassion, professionalism, and respect shown to her by every single member of staff was first class. From the manager and her assistant, the lead nurse and her staff, the carers, the auxiliaries, through to the cook, the maintenance guys, every one of them were kind, thoughtful and considerate in their approach to their roles. Thank you Cedar Lawn for making Mum so comfortable and cared for in her final days. My sister and I, and our families, are so grateful to you, hopefully from this you can work out who we are!

My mother moved into Cedar Lawn nursing home during covid restrictions but settled quickly because the staff are kind and thoughtful. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated and mother’s room has big windows overlooking the lawn. The Chef cooks meals which are always freshly cooked and appetising and the residents eat together in the dining room. The nursing staff deliver excellent care and I am informed immediately of any medical issues. The activities coordinator provides a cheerful atmosphere with creative activities which are ability appropriate, this is key to keeping residents engaged and mentally active and is a difficult task with a group of elderly residents who have different levels of physical and mental capacity. The activities room is airy with plenty of light and space to store craft materials. I am always made to feel welcome and many of the staff have worked there for several years as there is a happy family atmosphere where people care about each other.

Cedar Lawn is a lovely and caring home, and my aunt is settling in well. She found it strange initially to be away from home, but the staff could not have been kinder. Her room is lovely, but it is the staff who make the home so special; they are all so friendly and caring. Various events have been arranged with lots of thought to make them special.

And finally, the food is amazing! The chef prepares restaurant-quality food and bakes the most beautiful cakes. I am very happy with the care provided at Cedar Lawn.

My uncle was transferred to Cedar Lawn following a fall and surgery for a broken hip. Staff could not have been more helpful; an assessment visit was arranged immediately and a room made available pending his transfer. A potentially very stressful situation was managed to perfection.
