My husband has COPD, bladder cancer, kidneys have packed up, he is 81 and was taken into hospital on the last day in May. He is at end-of-life and I thought I would always have him at home but things escalated and the doctor told me I couldn't manage anymore at home. He hates being at Cedar Lawn but this is not a fault of them, they have done all they can in every way but it's not home. Security is good but no money is left there. Activities, he is just in bed but I can see the staff do their utmost.

Cedar Lawn NUrsing Home has been amazing at looking after and caring for my mum in the final months of her life.
All staff, nursing, carers, those involved in the catering side (food was excellent) and anyone I haven’t mentioned, I along with my family have so much admiration for you all and are grateful for everything you did.

Cedar Lawn is a friendly and welcoming care home and we would recommend to anyone.

We are so happy to have found Cedar Lawn. The manager and staff are warm and friendly to families and to the people that they care for. The atmosphere is comforting and relaxing for my mum. The food is an important feature - the chef visits my mum each morning to chat and discuss the menu choices. There are activities available daily. Thank you!

In my opinion, Cedar Lawn Nursing Home far exceeds my expectations. We were shown around the nursing home by a delightful young lady. It became very apparent this would be the perfect home for Mum - I am delighted with the care Mum is receiving. The staff are always very cheerful, caring and compassionate - there are lots of activities going on and outings to look forward to - there's always such a happy atmosphere in the home. Mum looks forward to her mealtimes as the food is excellent. Mum is so happy at Cedar Lawn. I cannot thank the staff enough - I'm so enormously grateful to you all - many thanks.

As a family, we have been very pleased with the care our loved ones have received.
One relative had a short period of end-of-life care in September 2021 and he was cared for with dignity and comfort.
Another relative has had long-term care with debilitating Alzheimer's and the staff have been like a second family for our loved one. She is cared for with a lot of love.

We are so grateful to the wonderful staff at Cedar Lawn Nursing Home.

Hello,

Thank you for your review. How privileged we are to have been caring for and serving two loved members of your family, thank you. Quite apart from my obvious bias regarding my colleagues, I do think that there's a lot of love and joy in Cedar Lawn. That can only come from the respectful and warm relationships created between residents and staff. My very best wishes to your family, Helen.

I moved my mother to Cedar Lawn Nursing Home in June 2021. She has a big, airy room with two bay windows bringing in a lot of light, overlooking the lawn and flowerbeds. There are tailored and imaginative activities every day which my mother usually chooses to get involved in. The staff are very caring with a great sense of humour and willing to go the extra mile to make everyone welcome. The food is excellent, always freshly cooked with a choice of menu. The communal facilities are light and spacious with a dedicated activities room. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff - they all play their part in the smooth running of the nursing home where the residents require a lot of individual care and attention.

I can not thank all at the home enough.
Their continual care, comfort and respect shown to Mother is fantastic.
In this difficult period of Mother’s life, it is nice to know we are getting the help and support that we and she needs.
We also appreciate the facilities provided through these Covid times that has allowed us to maintain a form of contact through the glass-fronted visiting room.
We appreciate Mother’s condition makes things difficult for all but you handle this with care and consideration.

Fantastic staff and fantastic facilities which deserve a massive thank you from us.

I can highly recommend this care home, the staff are attentive, kind and sympathetic to my mother's needs.

My mother says the food is lovely and good size portions unlike the first home my mother went to, she doesn’t go hungry that’s for sure. Some of the team have been here for some years so you get a kind of family feeling and the chef is always fun to talk to and has my mother in stitches most of the time. The office team are amazing at getting the right help for my mother. All in all, I can’t recommend this home enough and I’m extremely grateful my mother is a resident here, it takes a huge weight off my shoulder knowing she’s happy.

My mother entered Cedar Lawn three years ago with dementia and needing nursing care.
In those three years as her health has deteriorated the level of care has always been exceptional in meeting her complex needs.
We always appreciate the warm, engaging welcome we receive from staff when we visit. They have created a warm, family atmosphere within the home.

We are truly thankful to have found an outstanding home within Cedar Lawn for our very precious Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother.

Whenever I am asked about the health and welfare of my aunt, I can reply with complete confidence that she is very well looked after indeed. She is safe, warm, well-fed with a wonderful choice of home-cooked food and entertained to the level of her choice. Her welfare is paramount, with regular visits from the hairdresser, podiatrist and priest. She always has clean clothes and similarly, her surroundings are kept spotless. The home itself may look a little old fashioned in some ways, but within that comes the comfortable feeling that it is a home - her home - and not a clinic. The staff at Cedar Lawn are caring, kind, polite and cheerful and give her confidence and dignity in her life there. Medical matters are promptly reported which is reassuring. The staff have dealt with the many challenges that Covid presents to the absolute best of their ability and are always helpful if I have any questions. Well done Cedar Lawn!

My mum stayed at Cedar Lawn for 6 weeks of respite care. She was wonderfully looked after. It is a small and friendly home where all the staff are professional and caring and they treated her and us with the respect and personal attention we would wish. We would thoroughly recommend the nursing home to others.

My mother came to live at Cedar Lawn following a stroke some three years ago.
We have always been impressed by the ‘feel’ of the place and the friendliness and kindness of the staff. This includes not just the nursing staff and care assistants but also the staff that run the kitchen, laundry, housekeeping, activities and maintenance.

The house and grounds are well maintained, the food is very good and if a problem does occur I have found that it is dealt with promptly.
