Overall Experience

My beloved granny felt at home in St George's for 10.5-years, and every time I visited from Switzerland, I could feel the care and attentiveness to her physical and psychological well-being. The staff were also very considerate to her family, always attentive to our worries and questions. She was very content, and they respected her different needs and wishes not forcing her into anything she didn't want to do and adapting to my grandmother's decreasing health but still treating her with dignity as the individual she was!

The manager and the staff go out of their way to make us welcome during our visits, and my mum receives excellent care. I can't thank them enough for their kindness. They have gone to great lengths to ensure we are all safe during visits.

My mum spent her last two years at St. George's and in all that time she was treated with great care compassion and dignity. The staff are amazing and were always very supportive to both mum and me. I will be eternally grateful to them.

The staff at St George's Nursing Home gave our mother fantastic care in her time with them.
We were always made welcome when we visited Mum and were able to go to see Mum at any time.
It was made clear that we should treat the home as if it was Mum's home.

All aspects of Mum's care were undertaken with diligence and respect.

Excellent care from managers to carers and office staff.
The food was lovely, always found something mum could eat and fancied.
Also very good support for family and visiting times excellent.

It looks a very old building but look beyond a fancy environment as the care makes up for so much.

My mother had been a resident of St George's for about 15 months when she got to the point where she needed end of life care.
She had been cared for with great respect and dignity whilst there and this continued into her final hours.
The staff (all of them) are wonderful and care, not only for the resident but the people close to her and the impact that the loss will have on them.

We were so grateful that Mum spent her final days feeling loved and totally pain-free.

The care and attention received by my friend, whilst she was a resident at St George's Nursing Home was exceptional. All good, both physically and mentally. The six months of her final days spent there were happy, relaxed and enjoyable as her every need was catered for at all times, with warmth and compassion.

Our mother came to St George's after being in a failing home where she lost a lot of weight. Her spirits perked up very quickly after the move from hospital (the staff are exceptional) and she soon started eating again, despite having been judged "end of life". The managers and staff are very much on the ball. All in all a very reassuring place. Cannot recommend it enough.

My mum has been in the home since last October and has settled extremely well. The staff are so kind and genuinely care for her. It's a great relief to know that she is safe and well looked after. We are welcome to visit at anytime and the staff are always happy to talk to us if we need to. It really is more of a 'home' than a nursing home which we think is why mum is relaxed and not stressed about her surroundings.

St George's has provided my mother with exemplary care over the five years she has been a resident. The staff show utmost kindness, consideration, respect and humour to all. If she is asleep at mealtimes and requires food on waking it is provided. My mother is very content and feels safe and loved.

At the age of 93 and suffering dementia it was a terrific strain on the whole family to keep dad at home but because of our love for him we did not want him to go into a home, but we soon realised we need not have worried. The staff were brilliant and made his last days as happy and comfortable as possible. I cannot praise them enough.

The care and love shown to my late husband is second to none. Although he was only with them for two weeks, they also supported me, which I found very comforting.

My mother spent the last few months of her life at St Georges. She could be quite difficult but staff always managed to care for her with kindness, dignity and good humour. St Georges is very homely and the staff team clearly enjoy their work. In her final weeks my mother was cared for in accordance with her wishes without unnecessary interventions and with a care plan I was involved in drawing up. Thank you St Georges.
