Mum was in bed and did not want to get up, just to sit in a chair. Mum seemed unusually low in her mood. We asked when Mum was last up and she had not been up for a week, just to go to the toilet. Mum had been sleeping in the same clothes as she wore during yesterday's visit. We asked that further strategies be used to get up, but staff said they can't "force her". We got Mum up and staff changed her bedding, which was much needed. There was a bed-changing chart on the wall, but no dates in for February. There is a lot of new staff who seemed unfamiliar with Mum's ways (she has been there for 2 years). We felt disappointed with our visit to Westbank and the care Mum receives.

Although Westbank Care Home has been satisfactory in looking after Mum, it is due to the arrival of Claire & Chelsea that the standards are now going up. The staff seem happier and with new levels of care, expectations and the importance of consistency, we are pleased that Mum will be even happier. Time, of course, will tell but we're off to a good start with new management team, increase in staff & replacement of those not enjoying the new 'regime'! Thank you for all the work so far.

We are very satisfied with all the staff, and the lovely home that Mum has had the good fortune to live. It is taking a bit of time for her to settle but improving all the time. Her meals are lovely, good and wholesome. Her bedroom is light, clean and airy.

My mother has been a resident for over 4 years. She has been cared for very well and with respect. Every member of staff from the manager down interacts with my mother and plays a valuable role in her care. She has benefited from the fact that Westbank is both a care home and a nursing home. I rank Westbank Care Home as one of the best care homes in the area and I have recommended it to friends on many occasions.

My Mum is about to celebrate her 92nd birthday at Westbank Care Home which is amazing, considering she entered Westbank at age 89 with a bedsore so severe it had infected her spine and the hospital said there was no hope of a recovery. She was extremely anxious and frail on arrival and looked neglected after several weeks in hospital but the dedicated care provided at Westbank over the last 2.5 years has meant she's made a full recovery from the infection and the bedsore has finally healed. Although bedbound since contracting COVID in 2020 Mum now visits the lounge and is generally content and well. I cannot thank Westbank enough for all the care the staff have provided and for the efforts made to comfort her and keep her well.

This care home has a warm and cosy family atmosphere. We chose Westbank for my mother after mother-in-law had short stay. Visitors are made to feel very welcome and are invited to numerous fun events throughout the year. My mother has settled very well and appears very happy. I have never had any concerns about her welfare and I can't speak highly enough of the very caring staff. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home to others.

It was a very difficult decision to move my Mum into a care home. However as soon as my Dad and I walked through the door of Westbank, we knew it was the right place for her. It is bright and airy, with beautiful grounds, and always welcoming.
My Mum was a resident there from February 2020 until August 2023. Throughout her time there, she was extremely well cared for by all the kind and thoughtful staff. During COVID, they became family to her, as we were unable to visit. My mum had a great love of music, and they would regularly play her favourite music.
The activities arranged for the residents are well planned and varied and the residents seem to have a really good time.
The current manager is very approachable and is a real asset to Westbank, knowing her staff and residents' needs very well.

I would highly recommend Westbank as a care home.

I wanted to write to express my deepest gratitude to Westbank and the whole team of nurses, carers and staff who looked after my father until sadly he passed away last December. He was really poorly, 93 years old and not always the easiest patient! Yet he was shown patience and kindness always.
The support to the family and, more importantly, my dad during his stay was second to none - making sure he was well cared for, listened to, assisted and made comfortable at all times.
I would like to give special recognition, in particular, to one member of staff - the sweetest person who went above the 'call of duty' even outside of her working hours to check on him and support him and the family, we could never thank you enough - bless you.

Much Love and appreciation to you all.

I like the ground floor, with windows, so you can see your loved ones. The external grounds are nice too, especially with the table and chairs under the trees.

My mother's care and support overall is good and the 24 hour facility is necessary. The new care home manager has a good grasp of nursing care, which is very useful.
