Unfortunately, a couple of weeks after this, he took a rapid and ultimately terminal decline. After 16 years of excellent care, the whole team showed that they could ensure his passing was as well looked after as the previous years.
He went to Aaron House fairly active, but with a significant brain injury. The team managed his escape attempts, his behavioural changes over decade and his slow changes. Never in the whole time was I in doubt that we had found the right facility for him. He was able to enjoy the gardens for many years and walk with us around the woods beside the home. As things changed, his world became smaller, but the care remained.

Thank you so much to all the staff, one or two of whom were at Aaron house for most if not all of his 16 years.

I have been many times to this home and have always found the staff polite, courteous and kind. I especially appreciated the attention to small but important details today. The staff - patient was very high today - so that no one was rushed. I would have no hesitation to recommend The Red House or allowing anyone close to me to be moved to here. I have had experience of many care homes. Well done everyone!

Overall Experience

The Red House continues to create a wonderful family atmosphere which is so important for residents and relatives alike to know its a real home for their loved one. The day to day care is exemplary and my wife is completely settled and happy. The management have installed a culture where all the staff whatever their specific role get to know the residents and relatives and I think this is a major strength of the home and helps make it so well respected locally.

Lostock Lodge is very welcoming and the management and staff are totally dedicated and show empathy and compassion. Residents are cared for in a friendly safe and sociable environment. My mother had dementia and the care she received was excellent, staff and management making every effort to interact. We always felt relaxed about the care given. Mum was always clean and tidy. When our mother was under palliative care the staff looked after her with total dignity and respect. Not only did they look after our mother but they also looked after her family at their most vulnerable time. Lostock Lodge is a highly recommended care home.

Very friendly team and are always available if needed. Progress updated regularly and if any issues occur are informed of this, e.g. falls from Mum. Could do with stacking chairs for visitors and can be very worn at times. Overall a friendly team of carers and facilities with good access and credit to all the team.
