Charlotte is the dedicated Wellbeing Coordinator at Buxton Lodge, where she has been a valued team member for seven years. Her journey into care began when she transitioned from a career in hairdressing, a profession she had pursued since the age of 16. Driven by a desire to make a difference, Charlotte immersed herself in learning and achieved her NVQ 2 and Diploma 2 within her first four months at Buxton Lodge.
Passionate about enhancing the lives of residents, Charlotte’s dedication to her role has been unwavering. In her current position as Wellbeing Coordinator, a role she stepped into four months ago, she has already introduced a variety of engaging and enriching activities. She takes pride in creating community connections, such as the popular Buxton Lullababy group, which meets every three weeks, and the warm and welcoming Coffee + Chat sessions.
Charlotte also works alongside Barney, Buxton Lodge’s beloved therapy dog, who provides comfort and companionship to residents. With a focus on inclusivity and celebration, Charlotte ensures that the diverse nationalities of residents are embraced, creating a vibrant and welcoming environment. She has introduced daily exercise classes to promote physical and mental well-being and established the Buxton Swap Book station, fostering a love for reading and community engagement.
One of her most exciting projects in progress is the creation of a Buxton aquarium in the main lounge, a collaborative initiative that has delighted both residents and staff. Charlotte’s passion for charity work is evident in her organisation of cake sales and baking activities, which involve residents and raise funds for meaningful causes.

Terri Felstead joined Buxton Lodge in September 2021, initially working as a carer during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic. Motivated by a desire to make a meaningful difference, Terri embraced the opportunity to help others, supported by the comprehensive training and encouragement provided at Buxton Lodge. Reflecting on her early days, she describes the joy of knowing she has brightened someone’s day as one of the most rewarding aspects of her role.
Around 18 months into her journey, Terri stepped in to provide cover in the kitchen and discovered an unexpected passion for cooking. Eager to learn and develop, she embraced the challenges of the culinary world and has since progressed to the role of Head Chef. Terri takes pride in creating person-centred menus, engaging with residents and their families to understand preferences and ensure mealtimes are both enjoyable and meaningful.
Terri’s commitment to excellence is evident in her professional development. She has achieved her Food Safety Level 2 certification and recently completed IDDSI (International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative) training, equipping her with the skills to provide tailored dining options for residents with specific needs.
For Terri, the kitchen at Buxton Lodge is more than just a workplace—it’s a hub of teamwork, camaraderie, and creativity. She values the collaborative spirit among the kitchen staff and the wider care team, especially during special events when everyone pulls together to create memorable experiences. Terri describes Buxton Lodge as her extended family and says she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Hi, my name is Fe, and I am the Housekeeping Supervisor at Buxton Lodge Care Home. Originally from the Philippines, I moved to the UK in 2012. My professional journey began as a dispensing pharmacist within a large retail organisation, a position I held for four years after several years of dedicated study.
I have extensive managerial experience in various retail sectors, including roles as a store manager. I joined the Housekeeping Team at Buxton Lodge in March 2020 as a Housekeeping Assistant and was promoted to Supervisor a year later. Working as part of the team here has been incredibly rewarding, and I have had the opportunity to experience other roles, including Health Care Assistant, assisting in the kitchen, and supporting the Activities Coordinator.
I take great pride in helping our residents and providing them with a clean, happy environment to live in. My role as Housekeeping Supervisor involves not only supporting the Housekeeping Assistants in maintaining high standards of cleanliness but also ensuring measures to prevent the spread of infections are up-to-date and constantly reviewed. I manage the rota for the team, ensure janitorial products are regularly replenished, and maintain equipment to ensure it is safe, in good order, and suitable for purpose.
One of my favourite parts of the job is sitting with the residents for a good chin wag, bringing a smile to their faces. I take immense pride in everything I do, and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing our residents happy and comfortable.
Outside of work, you will often find me with my head in a book, as I love reading. I also enjoy watching movies and taking walks in the countryside when the weather is nice. Meeting up with friends for coffee, gardening, swimming, snorkelling, and caring for my home aquarium filled with a mix of small fish are some of my other passions.
At Buxton Lodge, my goal is to ensure a clean, safe, and pleasant environment for all our residents. I am committed to upholding the high standards of care and cleanliness that define our home, making Buxton Lodge a place where everyone feels comfortable and well-cared for.
