My wife of 48 years, moved to your care home six weeks ago from a hospice. She is receiving end-of-life care. The care has been excellent from staff, who are delightfully cheerful. I wish she could stay longer.
Saw Mother in June, she looked very well and well cared for. Lots of stimulation and enjoys the variety of food.
Such a nice team at Buxton Lodge Care Home from management to care in the room with my Mum. We like it that nothing is too much trouble and we can always have a conversation about things we need to know or do is never any hassle. Would recommend Buxton Lodge to anyone considering such care for their loved one, the whole team are committed and friendly.
Buxton Lodge Care Home is a lovely home full of helpful and friendly staff. The room is very nice and is located in a quiet spot with the right amount of attention. My Mum in Law’s appetite has certainly increased since she moved in thanks to the lovely food.
My mum is looked after so well, especially when you consider the complexity of her needs. Mum is challenging at times, however, the team are caring and patient with her. They are supportive and kind to Mum and my family.
My mother has settled in very well at Buxton Lodge. It was a difficult time when she needed residential care two and a half years ago, but the kindness, patience and expertise of the staff helped to make the transition a happy one. It is lovely to see my mother enjoying laughter, singing and happy times. She feels safe and content due to the unending kindness of the caring staff.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave valuable feedback, which will be communicated to our hardworking employees.
We hope to continue to be a part of your mother's journey at Buxton Lodge and deliver the level of care that she deserves.
Awful service so far. The staff withholds medication from clients and complains about family and relatives in earshot of said family and relatives. Total lack of facilities able to facilitate the needs of clients despite doing two assessments and charging an astronomical weekly fee to be left to develop life-threatening bed sores and inadequate equipment to support their needs.
In order for us to look into this matter, please contact the home directly on 01883 410974 and we will investigate the concerns raised.
Very friendly staff. My brother seems to have settled in well, although he has only been here for a couple of weeks. My brother isn't too keen on the food, but the staff are happy for him to order in a takeaway. We (as a family), haven't been spoken to regarding his end of life care.
The most important thing in a care home is continuity of care, and Buxton Lodge is blessed with staff who have been involved with the home for a number of years. They are extremely dedicated and thorough in ensuring residents needs and likes are taken care of, whilst embracing the ever-changing legislation.
Thank you for your very kind review. We value that continuity of care that you mention and work hard to maintain it. I will ensure the team see your kind words.
My Father was given a placement opportunity at Buxton Lodge Caterham and the medical team asked for my approval, I didn't take long to answer as I know the home has been looking after Ladies and Gentlemen for several years and having lived in the Tandridge community since birth you get to hear if somewhere has a less than favourable rating, this I have never heard about Buxton Lodge Caterham, but as I said previously it was still the unknown, plus it was on my mind as to how Dad would feel that he was going from hospital to a nursing home and not his own house, but the staff made the difference and it is very evident from the phone calls with them and Dad. Superb care. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, I know the team will really appreciate seeing these kind words. I am glad that Buxton Lodge have been able to answer those understandable questions anyone will have when seeking care for a loved one. I hope the home will be open again soon for visitors.
Buxton Lodge was recommended to us by a friend, whose father had stayed here and she had been very happy with the care. We looked at other homes but none came near to the standards at Buxton Lodge. On our first visit, one of the catering staff arrived, saw that a resident needed help and immediately went straight over to offer assistance. We were impressed, but this is typical of the "extra mile" that seems to be the norm here. Over the last 21 months, my Mum has been looked after extremely well and the high standards have not slipped, even during the COVID-19 outbreak. All the staff, without exception, are extremely kind, caring and highly competent, utterly committed to looking after all the residents.
Thank you so much for the feedback, the team at Buxton Lodge will be delighted to receive it. I hope very soon we will be able to open the doors again for visitors. Thank you again.
My mother was only at Buxton for eight weeks. She was really happy there. The staff all took an interest in Mum. I was kept informed of all changes in Mum's health. The end of life care was fantastic and my sister and I managed to say goodbye to Mum. The staff was excellent, caring, and sympathetic. I can't fault Mum's care. I wish she had been there longer.
Thank you for you review. I am so glad your mother was happy at Buxton Lodge and like you, we wish it could have been longer. Thank you again.
I would like to say that I have been very happy and satisfied with their handling of the Coronavirus and taking all the precautions needed to keep my mum safe and well in this dreadful time. I have always felt that Mum was as safe as she possibly could be and was in the best place. I think the staff are very friendly but also very professional. I have never had any reason to complain and if I did then I am confident it would be sorted in a very timely manner.
Thank you for your feedback on what has been a challenging period of time. I will ensure your warm words are passed to the team, thank you again.
My mother's room is excellent and facilities are very good. The food on the whole is very good.
The manager is approachable and keen to resolve any problems my mother has.
I am pleased that even though my mother does not wish to join in group activities, the entertainments person has been doing crosswords with her.
My only issue with this care home is the above-inflation increase in the fees in the last two years.
Thank you for your feedback. We always endeavour to staff with our own permanent team members but this has not always been possible especially over the last few weeks. I will be passing on your positive words regarding the team to them. They will be delighted. Thank you again.
I have always found the staff caring and attentive and nothing is too much for them when I visit my friend who is a resident. He seems really happy there. It's been a difficult few months for care homes but I feel Buxton has handled it professionally and always has the residents' best interests at heart.
Many thanks for your feedback, particularly recognising the difficult time care homes have had recently. I will pass on your very kind words regarding the team, they will be delighted.
Buxton Lodge is kept very clean and tidy. The best thing about Buxton Lodge is it is very homely and residents feel very looked after.
Many thanks for you lovely feedback regarding Buxton Lodge. We always try to make all of our homes as "homely" as possible as that is what they are! Thank you again.
In this particular time (COVID-19), the families have had to put their trust and faith in the staff and they have coped fantastically. We know that our family members are being well cared for and looked after.
We are delighted that you have put your faith in us for both your Mother and Uncle. Thank you for your kind words regarding the team. it has been a tough couple of months for all care homes so it is so gratifying to read your words, which I will pass on. Thank you again.
My mum moved into Buxton Lodge mid-December after we were told she could no longer live on her own. All the staff was very welcoming to us all. The whole team is friendly and takes time to get to know the residents, including office staff, nurses, carers, kitchen staff, etc. The staff spend time sitting and chatting to residents, treating them with dignity. My Mum got on with staff straight away and is now having conversations with other residents. The day is filled with music, exercise, singing, and films. She has been seen by a hairdresser, GP, and optician. We attended an open relative's meeting to find out what is happening. This is a regular thing.
Many thanks for such a positive review. It is always fantastic to see the team's care and hard work recognised. I am so glad that your Mum has settled in well. Thank you again.
Buxton Lodge has a lovely home feeling. All the staff have been so friendly and caring. The food is great and after no wanting my mum to be in a care home, I have totally changed my opinion of them. 10/10.
Residents always have lots of entertainment going on. Staff greet us with a smile every day.
