Coxwell Hall & Mews Nursing Home

Hi my name is Sarah. I have worked at Coxwell Hall and Mews for 8+ years. I have worked as a care assistant, activities co ordinator, senior carer and now am a lead co ordinator. I studied health and social care at Swindon new college. Whilst working at Coxwell I have completed my NVQ 3, medication training, CPR training, lots of clinical training and much more. I have always wanted to look after the elderly and spent alot of my childhood spending time with my grand parents. I love working at Coxwell because it feels like home, I enjoy making sure all of our residents are happy. In my free time I enjoy spending quality time with my son and fiance, i enjoy going on holidays abroad and experiencing new things, I LOVE THE SUN.

Hi my name is John. I have worked at Coxwell Hall and Mews for 4-5 years. When I was younger I helped care for my mother and a gentleman Who lived with us, so caring seems very natural to me. Whilst being at Coxwell I have managed to complete my NVQ 3, medication training and much much more. Things that are Important to me are my family, my friends, my partner Louise and our animals. I am a very chilled and mellow person and outside of work I enjoy playing on the playstation with my friends, spending time with my family and Louise. I also love a good relaxing holiday aswell

Hi my name is Louise. I have worked at Coxwell Hall and Mews for 2 years. I came to work at coxwell as a care assistant I am now a senior carer and lead co ordinator. Whilst being at coxwell I have done a lot of training and gained more knowledge and experience. I enjoy working at Coxwell because I like the people I work with and the home is very homely and is a home that really do care for the people they look after. When I am not working which is not a lot as I am a workaholic and love my job, I enjoy spending time with my other half John and all of our animals, we have cats and rabbits. Hi my name is Sherry. I have been working at Coxwell Hall and Mews as a care assistant for 4 years in October. I have chosen this career as I LOVE and have so much passion to look after the elderly, especially the elderly with complex needs. Whilst being at Coxwell I have had many opportunities to expand my knowledge and experience, I have Completed my NVQ 2, done my medication training and much much more. Health and well-being is the most important thing in my life. Secondly is my family in the Philippines And my husband Roland. I work a lot and love my job it really is like my second home. Hi my name is Elisabeta. I came to work at Coxwell Hall and Mews from Romania where I have lived all of my life before coming to England. I have now been working at Coxwell for 5 years. I didn’t know what to expect when I came to work at Coxwell as I had never done caring before. I found out that I LOVED IT, I enjoyed spending time with the residents and getting to know their life histories and how much the world has changed. Whilst I have been at Coxwell I have had many trainings, trainings that have helped me to understand dementia better, such as virtual dementia training etc. I have completed my NVQ 2 which I am very proud of myself for doing as it took a lot of time and dedication. I have also done my medication training. When I am not at work I enjoy spending time with my husband Daniel, we have recently found out I am expecting . I also enjoy going to the gym, socialising, dancing and holidays by the sea

Hi, my name is Eylse. I have worked for Coxwell for over a year now. I became a carer because I was told I would make a good one as I use to help look after my brother who has disabilities, I am a very caring and passionate person and I love seeing the residents smile and happy. I am hoping in time I will be able to achieve and work towards getting my NVQs. When I am not working I enjoy taking my dog for walks, Laser tag, swimming, escape games, quad biking and spending time with my husband.

I've worked in Coxwell for 5yrs. What made me want to become a carer is more likely from doing work experience in coxwell before I actually started working there, like observing the staff how they do their job made me more interested especially the way they approach the residents, the different activities they do to entertain them throughout the day and how they help them every day just to achieve their needs.. my heart melts... What I achived throughout is different training such as Virtual dementia training, manual handling, mandatory, first aid training and medication training which helps me throughout my job, and I have passed my NVQ3. What is important to my life is my parents.. hobbies outside work is i sing and play guitar

Hi my name is Del. I have been working at Coxwell hall and mews Since 2004, Coxwell has become my second home. My Coxwell family have given me the opportunity to enhance my knowledge and skills as a lead carer. Whilst being at Coxwell i have been able to complete my NVQ 2 and 3 and also NVQ 2 for team leaders and i have achieved much much more and been given a lot of opportunities to better myself whilst being here. I love caring for people and making them happy, it makes me happy too. I love working, some may say I’m a workaholic, but in my free time when I’m not at Coxwell I love to spend time with my family and friends, cooking, playing scrabble and cards. I need to keep busy I get bored easily.

Hi my name is Louise. I have been working at Coxwell hall and mews since april 2014. I decided I wanted to be a carer because I have always looked after people in my family and decided I wanted to do it as a profession. Doing all the trainings provided by Coxwell has helped me become the carer I am now, I love being with the residents and helping them achieve what they want to achieve. When I am at home I love spending time with my daughter and my partner, I like going to the cinema, going clothes shopping and meeting up with the girls. I enjoy taking my daughter to her swimming and dance classes. Family is important to me.

Hi my name is Christine, I like to be known as Chris. I have worked at Coxwell for over a year. I have a lot of experience as an administrator. I came to work at Coxwell for a different experience. In my free time I like to spend time with my partner, cooking, gardening and walking.

Hi my name is Lidia. I came to work at Coxwell hall and mews in 2016 from Romania, where I have lived most of my life. I qualified to be an RGN in 2015. Coxwell provide constant training to keep me up to date on my knowledge and experiences. I enjoy working at Coxwell because it feels like home and I enjoy working with all the staff at Coxwell. I always wanted to become a nurse since I was little. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two children and I like to go back to Romania for holidays and to see my family.

I chose this career because I have always been motivated by helping others and for me being a nurse it is my dream job. I have been a qualified nurse now for 7 years. My mother is a nurse, I think I became a nurse because she inspired me. I enjoy my work, especially because I have experience in many areas of this profession.
I appreciate that Coxwell is giving me a variety of opportunities to develop my skills as a nurse.
Coxwell is providing constant training to expand my knowledge, which is essential in this line of work.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
My hobbies are reading books, sending postcards - I'm a member of Postcrossing which is an online community,
I enjoy travelling and recently started playing the violin.

Hi, my name is Susanna. I have worked in Coxwell since March 2016 as a senior Carer and from June 2016 to date as RGN. Though nursing is dynamic, challenging and rewarding, I personally feel is the right career for me. I am a practical, reliable and trustworthy individual with a genuine desire to help others whenever and I am in a position to do so.As a Nurse knowing that the decision I make has a huge impact on a person with Dementia’s Well-being. Hence, effective communication and the ability to assess their individual needs is paramount. I have acquired these traits along the years having worked as a nurse in a care setting. I have also developed the skills needed to effectively evaluate, communicate and assess their individual needs with compassion in order to provide care that promote their wellbeing in a safe environment. Furthermore, my personality and personal approach enables me to form effective working relationship with various teams. Things that matter to me are my family and religion. In my spare time, I enjoy doing online training and watching series and movies.

Home Manager Zippy Magana qualified as a nurse in 2000, gaining much of her experience in hospitals, care homes and within the community, bringing versatility and knowledge from many settings.

During her 8-year tenure at Coxwell Hall prior to her return in 2023, Zippy headed up the project ‘Like a Butterfly’ which has set out much of the practice adopted today. She is also qualified to deliver SMI & LD health checks (for people with Severe Mental Illness and Learning Difficulties).

This role has seen Zippy make a real difference at Coxwell, her energy, knowledge and capacity to improve the quality of life for people living with dementia, and their personal-centred care, but also in the way she goes about motivating the team, bringing them together to build a highly caring and effective team.

Zippy is the nucleus of the Coxwell family, creating a home full of laughter and warmth, a very special place, that delivers high-quality care to our residents living with complex dementia.

If you can’t find Zippy at Coxwell, then she may be swimming or socialising in the community. She also loves a good read, and if she ever gets to escape then it’s off travelling to somewhere hot.

For those that don’t know her yet – Zippy loves a hug, she comes from Kenya and is also the mother of one very handsome son, the firstborn of a family of three.
