Kingswood Court is rated “OUTSTANDING” by the Care Quality Commission (July 2019). The family owned and run nursing home is rated in the top 4% nationally.

Its fantastic team of permanent staff allows the home to consistently deliver personalised and outstanding nursing care in a relaxed and friendly environment for up to 59 residents.

They strive to improve the lifestyle and well-being of adults with many specialist conditions. This also includes the challenges of dementia and they have a dedicated dementia wing for 15 residents giving specialist care.

The home is a beautiful Georgian mansion, set in stunning landscaped gardens which allows residents to enjoy retirement in a wonderful setting.

They have a mixture of rooms in the home to choose from, these range from large traditional Georgian rooms to more modern special purpose ones, most have ensuite facilities. All rooms have a nurse call system as standard and residents are encouraged to bring their own personal effects with them which allows us to personalise their room and make them feel at home.

The inhouse chef allows the home to deliver a tasty and varied menu and cater for any special dietary requirements a resident may have. Residents also benefit from the regular visits made by a hairdresser, physiotherapist and chiropodist.

They make a special effort to retain strong links with the surrounding community and have several local groups and volunteers actively visiting the home, in addition to inhouse activities.

Deciding on care can be a daunting proposition for many people and Kingswood Court is more than happy to answer any question you may have. Please feel free to get in touch if you would like more information.

Kingswood Court cared for my dear friend with care and compassion. They kept him comfortable and clean and tidy through the last few months of his life and we're kind and considerate to his family and friends. Would recommend.

Kingswood Court was recommended to me by a close friend, who was so happy with the care that they gave her mum that when my dad needed a care home, she wanted him to have the same wonderful care. After a nasty fall at home and becoming bed-bound and needing nursing care, my dad was cared for at Kingswood
Court for 9 months until he passed away. My family and I will always be so very grateful for the wonderful care that Dad received, every single member of staff were always so genuinely caring and friendly, they made us feel part of a big family. They took the time and trouble to really get to know my dad, his likes and dislikes, and his lovely room became a second home. They threw him a lovely 90th birthday party with a cake that the chef made especially, nothing was ever too much trouble. They would always go that extra step to ensure that Dad was always comfortable and had everything he needed. I will always be so grateful to the staff at Kingswood, they’re amazing!

We couldn’t have been happier with how our father has been cared for at Kingswood Court. The staff are incredible and in the last 2 years it really has become a home from home. We feel so privileged that my father has been cared for so amazingly, particularly in his final days.
Reply from Bryson Gifford, Operations Director at Kingswood Court

Thank you so much for the positive feedback, it means a great deal to the team. It has been a pleasure to care for your father, he will be missed. Our task was made much easier due to your support as a family, which was first class. You are always welcome at Kingswood Court.

As a health care professional working very long hours it was extremely stressful trying to find a home for my own mother at short notice over a weekend. I tried several homes in a panic and only Kingswood came back to me immediately and the manager even came in on his day off to show me around, for
which I am extremely grateful. We are delighted we found you and can’t thank the manager and the home enough for the excellent care and support they have given us. My mother settled in very well and was so happy whilst in your care. Both my husband and I have already recommended you to others and will continue to do so.

I would like to single out the staff for special praise as they are all so warm and friendly and make a real difference. It means a great deal to me and my family that we always get to see the same faces. This has allowed us to build excellent relationships with the people who care for Dad. I can't
fault the care given as our experience has been excellent.

My mother has been a resident for over 5 years and her care has been excellent. The staff are kind and helpful and there is very little turnover of staff so the residents have continuity of care which they appreciate and at all times relatives are kept updated. Their management during the covid crisis
putting in place screens enabling secure visits worked very well.

The CQC judgement of OUTSTANDING is wholly justified for Kingswood Court. The service provided to us during our initial enquiries and my mother’s transition into care were of the highest order. The administration of her reception into the home was very efficient. The information pack was invaluable
and management of contracts and other paperwork was extremely smooth. The quality of the accommodation occupied by my mother is excellent and she has been supported to settle more quickly than we could have hoped.
Given that my mother was resolutely opposed to accepting residential care, staff professionalism, patience and kindness was remarkable in facilitating her acceptance of the situation and making her happier than I have known her for some time.
We are most impressed by the proactive stance taken from very early in the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic. They were highly proactive in their strategy and have been Covid free.
The staff are superheroes, indeed!

Current Review Score: 8.3 (8.328)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.3 (8.328) out of 10 for Kingswood Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.5 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.824 for Kingswood Court is calculated as follows: ( (28 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 34 Ratings = 4.824
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.504 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kingswood Court is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 59 registered maximum number of service users is 11.8. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 11.8 = 0.254
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
