Kingswood Court is rated “OUTSTANDING” by the Care Quality Commission (July 2019). The family owned and run nursing home is rated in the top 4% nationally.

Its fantastic team of permanent staff allows the home to consistently deliver personalised and outstanding nursing care in a relaxed and friendly environment for up to 59 residents.

They strive to improve the lifestyle and well-being of adults with many specialist conditions. This also includes the challenges of dementia and they have a dedicated dementia wing for 15 residents giving specialist care.

The home is a beautiful Georgian mansion, set in stunning landscaped gardens which allows residents to enjoy retirement in a wonderful setting.

They have a mixture of rooms in the home to choose from, these range from large traditional Georgian rooms to more modern special purpose ones, most have ensuite facilities. All rooms have a nurse call system as standard and residents are encouraged to bring their own personal effects with them which allows us to personalise their room and make them feel at home.

The inhouse chef allows the home to deliver a tasty and varied menu and cater for any special dietary requirements a resident may have. Residents also benefit from the regular visits made by a hairdresser, physiotherapist and chiropodist.

They make a special effort to retain strong links with the surrounding community and have several local groups and volunteers actively visiting the home, in addition to inhouse activities.

Deciding on care can be a daunting proposition for many people and Kingswood Court is more than happy to answer any question you may have. Please feel free to get in touch if you would like more information.

Having looked at many care homes for my father last year, I am glad we settled on Kingswood Court. It is extremely well run, has lovely grounds and facilities and is set in a quiet location.
The staff were friendly and approachable and the level of care was very good. I could see the home was going
from strength to strength so am not surprised it is now rated 'Outstanding'. My father was only there for 3 months sadly but we were happy with our choice and I would certainly recommend Kingswood Court to others.

I am very impressed with the home, especially the nursing care. When my husband was slightly off-colour the staff immediately noticed and took a urine sample. He was found to have a UTI. This was reported to the doctor and a course of antibiotics started straight away. The infection was discovered very
early and dealt with due to good care.

The staff are amazing, always happy and very compassionate. I would recommend the home to all. There is a genuine family feel around the home. My wife's condition is not easy but the staff have been excellent with her. We are very happy here.

Having visited a number of care homes in the area I chose Kingswood Court because it did not feel like an institution or a hospital, it felt homely and friendly.
My father passed away three years ago after a very short stay but my mother remained at Kingswood Court for a further three years.
The family
are very grateful for the care, consideration and kindness showed to my mother during her final years.
I have no hesitation in recommending Kingswood Court to anyone looking for a home for their loved one.
I hope that Kingswood Court is able to continue its good work for many years to come.

When I was able to visit I found the home and grounds wonderful condition. There is a vibrant atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. They offer me a cup of tea on arrival. Unfortunately, I now live abroad and can't visit as often.

Current Review Score: 8.3 (8.328)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.3 (8.328) out of 10 for Kingswood Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.5 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.824 for Kingswood Court is calculated as follows: ( (28 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 34 Ratings = 4.824
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.504 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kingswood Court is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 59 registered maximum number of service users is 11.8. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 11.8 = 0.254
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
