Situated in the heart of the peaceful Surrey village of Ewhurst, their 36-bed converted country house, set in mature gardens, offers round-the-clock nursing support within a safe, nurturing environment that enables residents to feel both at ease, and at home.

Retaining all of the character of its country house origins, The Old Rectory’s calm and tranquil atmosphere immediately makes an impression on residents and visitors alike.

Each of the bedrooms is fully furnished and features an en-suite toilet, wash basin and complimentary Wi-Fi, with separate shower and bathroom facilities.

However, your room is a place to call your own, so feel free to bring some of your own familiar belongings and furniture with you and make your new home.

Many of the ground floor suites have patio doors that open onto the beautiful gardens, whilst the larger, first-floor bedrooms enjoy far reaching views across the Surrey Hills.

Everything you may need is within easy reach and the friendly staff are on call 24 hours a day to ensure continuity of care, meaning you can relax, safe in the knowledge that you have their personal attention at all times.

My father has been a resident at the Old Rectory for over three years. We have had brilliant support as a family with his transition from him living independently alone to a care home environment. I cant say he 'wanted' to move into care, as he believed he was quite capable of being in his own home!
The fact is he could no longer do that without a full time live-in carer. Which he equally did not want. Thanks to the help and understanding of the Old Rectory, Dad (slowly) made his transition and recognises the value of having a specialist team there (24/7) to help him. He has a relatively formal side to his character which must be challenging for some people to deal with, but it is lovely to see his relationships with the different team members at the Old Rectory who have each found their own way to engage effectively with him. You can't make it up with Dad, and it is great to see the enjoyment he gets from each little interaction with the team.

Our Mum was very poorly when she arrived at The Old Rectory, and from that minute the staff could not have been kinder, more caring, or more concerned for her welfare. She has been treated with dignity and huge respect, and all her needs were taken care of, and she was brought back to being much more
like herself. The room is spotless, the food is remarkable, and the nurses are always available if we have any concerns. We wanted our Mum to be at The Old Rectory when she became unable to look after herself with help at home, and so were so happy when she was offered a room. The home is really well run and responds to its community creatively and sensitively. Thank you all.

Our mother has been at the Old Rectory for 18 months and we a very happy with the care she receives. She is happy and engaging with all the staff. The medical care gives us peace of mind as things are picked up quickly and sorted as well as can be.

Mum looks better now than she has done for years as she is being well cared for, has delicious nutritious food, regular medication and frequent physiotherapy to support her physical needs. She has daily opportunities to meet up with other residents for drinks, meals and activities and this social interaction
is so important for her mental stimulation. The staff at The Old Rectory are all lovely with Mum and treat her with respect, care and kindness. She has formed friendships with staff through chatting as they go about their work and is genuinely interested when staff share some of their family background with her. My experience of visiting Mum is always positive, staff greet me with courtesy and are always cheerful and friendly. We are very lucky that The Old Rectory could offer Mum a room and provide the care that she needs now. Needless to say Mum is very happy living here.

My mum (in her early 90s ) was about to have a knee replacement. At the last minute we decided that her going into respite care for a week after the operation would help her recovery. Despite the last-minute request The Old Rectory were very responsive and did everything they could to find her a room.
My mum could not speak higher of her experience - the staff were extremely friendly and very good at their jobs. Food was excellent. The house and her room was lovely. During her stay my mum was in a lot of pain which the staff handled so brilliantly. Thank you to all the management and team for making her stay as good as it could have been.

My mother spent over four months at The Old Rectory, and it was a wonderful and amazing experience for her. She went there for convalescent care after surgery, and the team did a fantastic job. Every staff member, from reception, cleaning, and catering to care, nursing, physio, and management, was exceptional.
The manager is always accessible, actively engaging with everyone, which reflects the team's supportive and collaborative nature. The kindness, compassion, care, dignity, and respect they provide are unsurpassed. There are a variety of food options available and a range of activities throughout the month. I would recommend this home to anyone seeking nursing and convalescent care in a place that truly feels like home.

Since my mother has been at The Old Rectory, her health and well-being have improved immeasurably. She was made to feel welcome and valued from the outset. Staff and the manager took the trouble to find out what is important to her and how best they could help her adjust to her new home and a different
way of living. They are not only kind and thoughtful, but the care they provide demonstrates they have in-depth and insightful understandings of the needs of older people.
Family members are also made to feel welcome and supported. It is reassuring to know that my mother is living in such a beautiful, clean and secure environment surrounded by people who really care about her. The Old Rectory has a comforting family feel, where the days' events fit in around the needs of the residents - a lesson many corporate-run care homes could learn from. It is little wonder my mother decided on the day she arrived that she didn't want to be anywhere else.

After a fall which resulted in a fractured pelvis, we were advised that mum, aged 102, would need more care than we could provide at home and we set out to find a residential home for her. After looking at several in the area we chose The Old Rectory, as it is small and homely, welcoming, warm and clean
throughout. All the staff are very friendly and nothing is too much bother for them, mum is well cared for and is very happy there. Her room is always clean, whatever time of day we visit. The food is plentiful and excellent quality with alternatives always available. Activities are on offer in the afternoons for any who wish to join in but there is no pressure to go. We have not regretted our decision and would not hesitate to recommend them.

The attraction of The Old Rectory is its commitment to provide a home for those that must relocate. The location is attractive with a country home set in a large, well-maintained garden. There is an easily accessible car park. The building was converted from a church rectory and extended, all the rooms
have a distinct individuality without a clinical ambience.
Residents have the option to bring items from their own homes to make the rooms look and feel familiar. The food is flavorful and nutritionally balanced. The management and staff include qualified nurses and carers – all make every effort to see to the welfare of the residents. An effort is made to create a family atmosphere among the residents. There are frequent, diverse in-house activities, i.e. quizzes, visiting entertainers or classes, that the residents may choose to attend. Special festive days, such as Christmas, are celebrated lavishly. Residents are provided a supportive, friendly and homely community.

The Old Rectory is a very caring, friendly and happy environment and provided a warm welcome to my mother who was relocating to this area. They put a lot of effort into providing entertaining activities for residents and put on a wonderful Christmas Day. All the staff throughout the home are friendly,

All the staff are friendly, welcoming and professional. My father is very comfortable at The Old Rectory and I am always made to feel welcome. I spent three weeks at The Old Rectory to receive fairly intensive daily nursing care while my partner went on a respite holiday. The whole nursing and care and support and catering team were all extremely attentive, caring, encouraging, professional and committed during my stay and were always prepared
to go the extra mile - an absolutely wonderful team! Extremely impressive!


In addition, The Old Rectory has a large and absolutely beautiful garden which I use every day for several hours. My room was large and very comfortable and kept very clean. The quality and choice of food was first-class. The team were also superb at looking after my visitors. Whenever I needed anything a bit unusual the brilliant Home Manager made it happen for me effortlessly and mostly instantaneously. I am sure I will be back!

When I think of The Old Rectory I think of smiles and efficiency. Everyone there is smiling and several people have told me they would not want to work anywhere else. The residents I have spoken to are all happy to live there and visitors like me are delighted to be looked after with kindness. I have
painful leg ulcers. I always look forward to the delicious food, especially the puddings and homemade soup. When the help button is pressed someone always comes almost immediately even late at night. When help is needed with dressing or showering the carers are kind and discreet.
