This is a wonderful home, very caring and responsive, and compassionate.
The manager is a very easy person to talk with, she listens, is non-judgemental, and a well-chosen person and with overall care of this home from home.
My mother has been very well cared for and treated with respect and shown
kindness every day.
It is thanks to Ashton Manor that she has been with us for so long.
It is a place full of hope and vibrancy, not a place of the end of our days, quite the opposite, a place of life, in the midst of life, embracing every day and respecting everyone who lives there as an individual with much to offer.

My mother has been a resident at Ashton Manor Nursing Home for the past two years and my two brothers and I have nothing but praise for the care afforded to her during that time. Throughout the management and the staff, they have shown a high degree of professionalism, dedication and transparency, which
does them credit and is reflected in my mother's content and settled demeanour. There is always a healthy willingness to share and update information with me on a regular basis and management and the staff have always adopted a friendly and open approach at all times. I cannot praise them more highly and wish to pass on genuine gratitude on behalf of all of our family.

I live some hours away from Ashton Manor where my mum lives. I have really appreciated the ongoing care that all the staff at Ashton Manor have given to mum, particularly throughout the pandemic year 2020/2021. The regular updates by email from management, admin staff, and the activities team have helped
me keep in touch with how my mum is doing. When I visited in April 2021 (for the first time in a year), I was greeted from afar by a number of staff who all remembered who I was and asked after me. Their concern and personal touch in all that they do for residents and their families are amazing. I am so glad that mum is based in their safe and loving care at Ashton Manor.

Mum came in a year ago and we had little choice of care homes due to Covid. However, what a blessing this turned out to be! For someone who was very anti care homes in general, Mum settled in very quickly and joined in with other residents and activities on offer, and is now very happy. All staff are
very friendly and caring to residents and to visitors. Ashton Manor is very well led and nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. Previously we looked at many care homes for other relatives in different parts of the country and Ashton surpasses all those we have seen! I am so pleased that Mum is in Ashton Manor from a care and a safety point of view - their care and safety measures implemented because of Covid-19 have been exemplary. Thank you, staff, from a very grateful and appreciative relative.

The Nursing home took my mother in at short notice on 22.12.19 after her home care package became unsustainable. Since that day the Home has provided first-class care to my mother. The Home group supported my brother and I whilst we sold my mother’s house in lockdown (nor’easter). Prior to Covid, I
was able to visit and witness the high level of staff engagement and commitment to the residents. Since Covid, the Home has protected all the residents admirably, whilst maintaining good links with family and friends via Social Media and a visiting system appropriate to the risks involved. The Home manager appears to be a first-class leader supported by a fantastic team around her, who are enabled and trusted to perform their roles with confidence. My review may appear a bit inspection speak, it’s what I used to do within a different Government body! In conclusion, a first-class team and organisation, who have my full support and gratitude.

My friend, who is in his late eighties with dementia, has been a resident at Ashton Manor for three years now. The friendly supportive care he has received and the quality of service provision has been excellent and sustained as he has gradually declined over this time. As I live 25 miles away I rely
on good communication from staff to ensure I am up to speed and this has been very good. They also helped knowledgeably with various form filling exercises required initially. During the pandemic this year the leadership and staff have coped admirably in keeping residents safe and have managed visits, at first outside and recently inside, in line with best practice to keep vital visual contact maintained. Notable is the good humour and commitment of the staff team, which extends to friends and relatives too.

Ashton Manor has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere which one immediately senses on entering the building. Complementing this atmosphere is the excellent housekeeping within and without the building. Within the Home, there is a real community spirit amongst the Residents who are cared for and attended
continuously by a dedicated and enthusiastic Staff team. Staff kindness was extended to my wife and myself when we recently celebrated our 60 years of marriage when the Staff decorated the awning in the garden with balloons and a Happy Anniversary greeting. This gesture really added to the happiness of the occasion. The Home is managed with vision and efficiency, assisted by regular meetings and communications with Relatives, thus ensuring the optimalisation of the care required by each and all of the Residents.

The staff not only look after my wife very well but they are unfailingly courteous and friendly towards visitors such as myself. The atmosphere at Ashton Manor is not at all institutional it is more a home from home in my case. I always enjoy my visits.

My mum has been living here for around 14 months, and I wouldn't want her to be anywhere else. I am very pleased with the care and respect that they give and show to Mum. The staff are always friendly and speak when I visit, and when I take my dog to visit they always make a fuss of her, and the other
residents enjoy her visits too. This is a well-run care home, all the staff work hard and with compassion, no matter how difficult some of the residents can be. When my husband and I visit, we not only visit Mum, but the other residents as well, we chat with them and even sing some old songs or nursery rhymes, and quite often the residents sing along with us, we also join in with some of the daily activities.

My father has been at Ashton Manor for several months. It took a while for him to settle, but with the help of the welcoming staff, he has settled into his new routine.
The home has been amazing, and I could not fault them in any way. The staff are always on hand if any help is needed or any questions
need answering.
Whenever I visit, I can always hear chattering and giggles from the sitting room. Dad is happy here, and I feel as if I am getting my life back; as I know that he is in safe capable hands when I leave.

I’ve been a regular volunteer at Ashton Manor for almost 2 years now and have nothing but positive words to say about this lovely care home. The building brings a homely, friendly, gentle atmosphere. All of the staff give 100% and have a genuine love for their job and the residents, it’s a real team
here at Ashton Manor. The food is good quality, well balanced and there is plenty of choice. All of the residents seem to be very content. I believe Ashton Manor is different to other care homes simply because of the positive atmosphere and genuine, caring members of staff. Staff are always smiling, approachable and happy to help both each other and residents. The management and seniors are very supportive to members of staff and the training is good quality. These are all of the reasons I continue to volunteer at Ashton Manor.

My father was a resident for several years and although his care needs were complex and demanding the care he received was always of the highest quality. He was so happy at Ashton Manor and formed friendships with residents and staff that made his life very contented even though he was battling Parkinson’s
and Prostate cancer. He wanted to finish his days among people he loved in the place that he loved and this he achieved. A very big thank you to all the caring staff! You are all excellent!

All the staff are kind and helpful and it is clear they have a good relationship with residents and visitors alike.

The care given to my father is always prompt and with a genuine warmth. Nothing is too much trouble. He is very happy here and is much improved in physical and mental state since he returned here. It is very reassuring for me to know he is getting the best care possible.

I have been a Registered Nurse for over 25 years. I have worked in many different areas of nursing and have specialised in elderly care for the past 20 years at Beritaz Care. Following my General training in Jamaica. I have recently undertaken further training in Management. In my 20 years with Beritaz Care, the company has helped me to develop both as a person and professionally. I have been supported through my role as a Nurse to become Deputy Manager and now Manager. I love working in this field because I am passionate about what I do and I feel as a company Beritaz Care have that passion in achieving a high standard of care for the people we care for.

Susan joined the Ashton Manor team in May 2016 as a Support Manager. She has a background in care and was previously managing a care home for adults with learning disabilities. She takes real pride in her role and is passionate about promoting a positive and can-do attitude amongst the team so that everyone works together to enrich the lives of our residents delivering the sort of care that they themselves would want for their own family members. I trained in hotel management in my native Slovakia, which gave me skills that have proved useful working here in the care home. I decided to become a care assistant after I spent more than a year caring for my grandmother in Slovakia; I also worked in a hospice. Both experiences have shaped my attitudes and approach, as well as my capabilities.


I’ve worked in Ashton Manor since 2005. During my time here, I’ve gained NVQ Level 2 qualifications in Health & Social Care and Nutrition and completed my Level 3 qualification in 2019. I was promoted to Senior Care Assistant in 2014 and then took on the Head of Care role in 2023. I feel the company gives us all the support we need to succeed. I love working with people. I always enjoyed helping and being part of their lives. I decided to be a carer and I am finding this job fulfilling.

Job Title: Clinical Lead

After working at Ashton Manor for several years as a Registered Nurse, I have now taken on the role of Clinical Lead. I have worked in the care industry for some time, working in both private and county council care homes over the years. Working in care is something I always wanted to do and am passionate about. I feel satisfaction in the kind of care that residents get here and the knowledge that their needs are being fully met. As a part of Beritaz Care, I feel you get a lot of support. Amongst the carers and all the staff, there is a great culture of working hard and supporting each other. Everyone is aiming for the same thing, quality of care.


In my role as Clinical Lead, I am involved in audits, medication management and supervising the care and nursing teams. Having previously worked in a nursing role in the home, I have a good knowledge of how everything operates. I have worked on both the day and night shifts, so I have seen all elements of the home and understand what the staff are experiencing. My favourite part of working at Ashton Manor has always been working on the floor. I have been working at Ashton Manor Nursing Home since 2016, initially as a Care Assistant before being promoted to Senior Care Assistant. With the support of my manager, I was able to embark on further training and have now taken on a role as a Registered Nurse. Being a nurse is one of the most challenging jobs but also very rewarding, that’s the main reason I choose to work in healthcare.


When I first started working at Ashton Manor I was very nervous, but grew to feel comfortable and confident thanks to the friendly welcome from the entire team that really made me feel a part of the team. I am really happy to be a part of the Ashton Manor and Beritaz Care family. I have been able to create close bonds with each resident and develop a real understanding of their needs. After each shift, knowing that I have shared my care, passion and love and that this has helped the residents to feel happy and satisfied, makes my day.

I joined Ashton Manor in 2018, so I have been a part of the team now for 6 years. I joined the team as a Care Assistant, before being promoted to Senior Care Assistant and now I am a qualified nurse.


My responsibilities at the home include medication administration, assisting with personal care needs, helping residents with meals and hydration, as well as completing care plans, assessments and admissions. I also spend a lot of time interacting with residents and their families, communication is a really important part of my role. What I enjoy most about my job is being able to support residents and their families with anything they need. The entire Ashton Manor team is wonderful, we work well together and there is always good communication between the staff. It is a diverse workplace which allows for more ideas and processes to be shared.

I have been a Registered Nurse for many years. I have worked in various parts of the world, including four years in a hospital in India, and five years as a hospital nurse in Saudi Arabia. I joined the Nursing team at Ashton Manor in 2009. The purpose of nursing is to promote health and healing and to prevent disease, illness, injury and disability. I enjoy my work. My company gives me full support to achieve my goal. I am very happy to be part of Ashton Manor Nursing Home.

Job Title: Care Assistant Joined: 2024

I have been working at Ashton Manor since September 2024, and it has been a rewarding experience. My journey in the care industry began in 2022 while I was still a student. Although I hold a Master’s degree in Marketing and Communication from a UK university, I’ve always felt a deep calling to work in the care industry — a field where I can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life. As a Care Assistant, my role involves supporting residents with daily activities and personal care, as well as looking out for their emotional wellbeing. The most fulfilling part of my job is connecting with the residents, I enjoy listening to their stories and bringing a smile to their faces.


Joining Beritaz has been a transformative experience. It’s a place where diversity is celebrated, individuality is respected, and professional growth is encouraged. I’m grateful to work with a supportive team that values hard work and collaboration. Beritaz also offers excellent training programs that have enhanced my skills and broadened my understanding. I have been at Ashton Manor since December 2022, having previously worked within the care industry in Jamaica. I have a passion for helping people and making people feel happy. That’s why a career in care felt like the right path for me.


On a daily basis, my role at the home is focused on ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our residents, as well as my colleagues. I like working at Ashton Manor as we are like one happy family with a shared goal. My favourite part of my job is putting a smile on everyone’s faces. I enjoy knowing that what I do helps people.  Working at Ashton Manor and as a part of the Beritaz Care group, I feel I have been given the chance to grow within my job and as a person.

Job Title: Head Chef Joined: 2013

I've spent over 20 years in the catering industry, and have been head chef at Ashton Manor since 2013. I hold an NVQ Level 2 in Professional Catering, and I'm fully trained in Health and Safety in the Workplace and Health and Nutrition. As head chef, my job entails catering to special dietary needs, some of which are a bit 'out of the box' but we work alongside the management to get this right.


I enjoy my job and get great satisfaction when receiving good feedback from residents and families. The company is consistently giving me opportunities to improve with different courses available.

Job Title: Kitchen Assistant / Chef Joined: 2011

Hi I’m Tina and I have been working at Ashton Manor Nursing Home since November 2011 in various ancillary roles, mainly as one of the kitchen assistants but sometimes covering the chefs when they are on leave and occasionally the laundry. I have previous experience working in these types of roles having worked for the NHS, mainly in elderly care.


Ashton Manor is a great place to work, it is family-orientated, and everyone works well together as a team. The managers are very helpful and supportive but the biggest reward I receive each day is being with the residents, chatting with them and seeing them smile back at me.

Job Title: Home Administrator Joined: 2019

I started working at Ashton Manor in 2019, I knew nothing about the care industry but I had a caring heart. I first started working as a Care Assistant and learned a lot during that time. Ashton Manor has always supported me with training opportunities and constructive feedback, which helped me to develop my skills. Two years after I started in this role I was promoted to Senior Care Assistant, it was a great experience and came with more chances to learn and grow.


I have now taken on the role of Home Administrator, having worked previously as an administrator this is a position I feel well prepared for. I am excited about this new opportunity and for the challenges and new experiences it comes with. At Ashton Manor, I can really say that I feel valued and that here opportunities come to you when you put your best effort in. I am thankful for all the opportunities given to me, to grow both professionally and personally.
