My mother-in-law became a resident at Springkell House at the end of November 2025 and we are so pleased to find her a care home as good as this one.
All of the staff that we have met on our visits are amazing. We are always greeted with a smile by everyone and immediately made to feel welcome. The
home is extremely well led by a Manager who is passionate about the care service that they provide and the carers are so friendly and very attentive and patient with the residents.
Springkell House has a very homely feel to it with two lounges and a large reception area. They have daily activities so there is a lot of variety on offer for residents. The food is all freshly prepared and presented in a very nice dining room and room service is offered for breakfast which is great.
Although it is relatively early days for my mother-in-law to be living in a care facility we are comforted by the fact that we know that she is safe and getting the best possible care in an excellent care home.

My father first came to Robinson Nursing Home three years ago after an illness, likely caused by his own and his local council's carers neglect. From the moment he arrived here, his condition improved and continued to improve and with the friendly staff and environment, he now enjoyed his days despite
his dementia. I put this down to the excellent quality of care, food and stimulation that he received.
Eventually, just over a year ago I moved him to a partner care home in the group at Hindhead. Here he thrived for a while but unfortunately, a tumour/cancer developed and following a long stay in hospital recently, he then required end of life care. I knew Robinsons was the right place for him and so, upon release he was again gently and respectfully cared for until his departure from this earth a few weeks ago.
I know that returning dad to Robertsons was the right decision and I believe that he had the best possible care for the last two months of his life.
Reply from Gabriella Konczol, Manager at Robertson Nursing HomeDear Rob,
Thank you so much for sharing your heartfelt words. It was a privilege for all of us at Robertson Nursing Home to care for your father, both during his first stay with us and again in the final months of his life.
Please accept our sincere condolences for your loss.
We are pleased to hear that he was able to enjoy his days here and that our staff, environment, and care made a positive difference to his wellbeing.
Your recognition of the team's efforts means a great deal to everyone who supported him.

Springkell house is the most welcoming care home you will find. The staff are well led , greet you as a friend, and most importantly really care about the residents. They support one another, and work together, to ensure the best for the residents. It certainly feels like a 'home' rather than an institution.
Food is varied, cooked well and is beautifully presented. Laundry all dealt with efficiently and respectfully.
Most residents eat breakfast in their own rooms- a nice gentle start to the day, but lunch and supper are served ' family style'in the dining room.
Medicalcare is outstanding - mainly dealt with within the home- ask for details
There are two main lounges residents can choose to go to. Every morning there are arranged activities - based on music, games, puzzles or hobbies which many residents enjoy. They also celebrate high days, holidays and special events like birthdays,Easter and Xmas
My dad a resident for almost 3 years, is very content- the best recommendation!

Before entering Robertsons my mother suffered an on-going leg condition. When she suffered an infection the home's registered nurse explained the measures undertaken to identify & treat it, infection control procedures (including visitor restrictions) and the specialist NHS scans to find the underlying
cause. Gratefully Robertsons has 'in-house' registered nurses with detailed knowledge of resident's & their medical profiles. My Mother's mobile phone enables my daily contact however her decline has resulted in it being mislaid & keypad errors. Likewise, the TV remote control presents its own challenges. Staff helping to resolve such issues is an example of the carer's helpfulness I've experienced. The Manager, Gabi, ensues relatives are updated with the home's major redevelopment that will ensure Robertsons has a bright future. The home's new electronic visitor log, a small example of the home's continual improvements, enhances confidentiality & record keeping.

Mum went to stay at Springkell for 3 weeks to give me some respite. I found all of the staff that I met to be lovely and caring. Everything was very well organised and a very easy experience for me. The home is bright and welcoming and mums room was lovely, warm and cosy. I feel mum was very well looked
after and I will pop mum in the home again when I need some respite. I would highly recommend this care home.

I came in an afternoon to visit my mum, there was lovely musical entertainment, engaging for the residents, and they and visitors thoroughly enjoyed it. Very kind and welcoming ambience, staff always attentive to the residents, and always had time for their visitors :) At the moment, there is building
work going on to improve the home, but this is very well managed and doesn't seem to have a negative impact on the residents in any way.

We had to find a suitable care home when my father was in hospital. Ashton Manor staff moved quickly to support us including a short notice visit and admission within days.

Since Dad has been resident, we have been impressed by all aspects of his care and management of the home. Staff appear

to enjoy working there with ready smiles and a chat. Food is very good and plentiful.

We were new to the care environment, staff have supported us as a family to understand the system and tackle paperwork etc.

Residents are known well by the staff and cared for as individuals, adjusting to their needs and preferences. There is a good range of activities and services and occasional outings. A recent highlight for Dad was a huge cake and fuss for his birthday.

Thank you Ashton Manor - I don't hesitate to recommend you.

Our parent needed a brief spell of respite care to recover from a hospital stay. The attention to detail by the staff was excellent. The care for our parent and the support for the permanent residents was lovely.
There is a genuine sense of community between staff and residents. The respite support
was just what was needed and the self contained flat which was provided was beyond that which we expected to be provided.
We would definitely return to Soringkell and our parent commented on the way supported was offered and the kindness of everyone.

Mum moved to Ashton Manor in May 2022. During mum's 3 years at Ashton Manor she was treated with respect and understanding by all the staff.

As a family, we were welcomed in and every kindness shown to us, from the initial settling in process (which mum found difficult) to mum's final days. We were

encouraged to make mum's room homely, placing favourite items around her and a smart speaker so she could listen to songs she loved. The manager or members of her team were always on hand to answer any queries or just give us a reassuring word when needed.

The care given to mum was exemplary, always with a gentle word, a smile and kindness. In my opinion mum could not have received more professional and dedicated care than she did at Ashton Manor.

A difficult time for all concerned was eased by the caring nature of the manager and her team.

Ashton Manor was recommended to us by a friend.
When we viewed Ashton Manor looking for a care home for my mother in law we instantly had a positive feeling about the home. Staff were all welcoming and friendly.
Ashton Manor is a listed building in a village and has pretty grounds. All the rooms
are slightly different but all were clean and well equipped. My mother in law has settled in well and we have nothing but praise for the care she receives. We are always made to feel welcome when we visit.
Recently it was my mother in laws birthday and staff were really helpful in setting up a space in the garden where lots of us could visit at the same time to share tea and cake.
The only negative thing has been a problem with the lift which did limit my mother in law going downstairs for a little while. Staff did bring my mother in law down stairs manually in the very hot weather .
My mother in law always appears content and happy.

My father has been at Springkell House for the last 8 months as he is unable to live independently now.
It took a short while for him to adjust to his new living arrangements, as it would do with new any resident giving up their home.
Although it took a little period of adjustment he loved all of
the staff and the home overall.
He now loves being at Springkell and wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
He has no complaints. He loves the staff and the food, and enjoys some of the many activities that are available.
He loves his room with all of his pictures on the wall.

We are privileged to have our father at Springkell House. A very warm and homely atmosphere welcomes you at the door. Bright and cheerful bedrooms. Lounge areas are inviting and cosy and the dining room is a lovely space to eat and chat with friends. The team wanted to know everything about our father,
it was evident that they are very skilled, caring and thoughtful. Dad has become happy and his well-being has greatly improved. He is safe and secure. There is a family feel to the home and the staff show nothing but patience, kindness and respect, with courtesy and professionalism. Staff genuinely doing a job which they enjoy. All health matters are referred to the local GP who visits weekly. Thrown into the mix are podiatrist, hairdresser and optician visits. Following an eye examination glasses were prescribed. Brilliant laundry services. We are constantly kept up to date via emails and phone calls and decisions are made together. Dignity is key, and this is where you will find it.

My father was a resident from July 2021 to June this year when he sadly passed away. During that time, the staff at Robertson treated him with great care and he was very happy indeed. I am quite sure that the kindness, sympathy and medical skill shown by the carers, nurses and administrative staff,
prolonged Dad's life. Working with them, to understand Dad's need, we were able to give him an untroubled, relatively pain free last few years. I will always be grateful to all the Management and staff at Robertson, for their help and understanding. They truly made Dad feel part of their family and I will never forget this.

Dad is a resident at Springkell. The home is always clean & tidy, the staff are always friendly, courteous & professional. I cannot fault the level of care that Dad receives, his health & diet is carefully monitered which allows for a piece of mind knowling that he is so well looked after. If there
is the slightest issue the home is always on point with contact to ensure that any piece of information regarding his condition & or relevant matters are provided, it's a level of transparency that allows me to whollly place my trust in all that is Springkell. If Dad could he woulld drink coffee, eat cake all day & he'd be more than happy to represent the home at the Olympics in doing so. G.P. visits are also supported by dental & podiatry, there are music events, parties & pantomine at Christmas. Dad is safe in the hands of Springkell.

My lovely Dad has been at Windsor Court a few months now, and I continue to be so impressed with the care he's receiving. The staff really shine out, they are absolutely brilliant, and are all so genuinely caring and warm, they always proactively give me updates on my Dad and how he's doing and what
he gets up to there, which I really appreciate. He had a nasty fall and was in hospital for weeks and couldn't walk, within 24 hours at Windsor Court he was starting to walk again and he smiled for the first time in a number of weeks. The building is bright and cheerful with lots of light and a beautiful garden, and lots of different common rooms and a couple of rooms where you can dine as an alternative to the main dining room if you're wanting more privacy or just a different setting. There are lots of activities that residents can partake in if they want to, food good and varied and the chef really friendly. Plenty of carers to hand if you need something, a real pleasure to visit.
